I've read reviews about how much better solid state drives are so I decided to buy one with a new laptop - boy what a difference it makes! Solid state drives increase: battery life, computer speed, and and are much more quiet because of the lack of moving parts. Compared to my old laptop, my new laptop boots up in less than 10 seconds. This model, Samsung 850 EVO, in particular I bought because it was recommended by Laptopmag and was on sale.

I bought the 250GB to help start up my "new" gaming computer (hand-me-down from the husband) and I must say I am very pleased with this purchase. Booting has sped up considerably compared to my previous HDD, and I have had no issues with it since initial setup. For my fellow gamers out there looking for a major boost in performance, I definitely recommend this buy.

The Samsung EVOs have a great reputation with my computer builder friends and IT folks I talk to, so I had to give it a try. So far (about a month after purchase), it's working great. Nice fast response, no problems with installation.

Use this with my new PC setup as the Windows 10 boot-up drive and it's blazing. Paired it w/ a 2TB hybrid drive for all of my other 'stuff' and it's perfect. Can't go wrong.

One of the fastest and most reliable SSDs out there. Got the 250 GB to replace hard drive for boot drive. Download Samsung Magician and enable RAPID Mode to get read (6GB/s) / write (3.5GB/s) using caching.

This drive is a good choice for general performance computing. It is just as fast as the Samsung 850 Pro, yet cost much less. The main difference is warranty and lifespan which is 50% less for the EVO. I have both the EVO and The Pro and I cannot tell the difference when using them day to day. Samsung is my first choice when buying SSDs and I don't think you could go wrong with either 800 series models.

I bought a machine with a mechanical drive, bought this drive, used the transfer software that came with the drive, 15 minutes later I swapped the drives and was running on the SSD. Much better performance

Simply Put, the Samsung 850 EVO Series are the best value for price and performance in Solid State Hard-drives. I've purchased well over a 100 in the last few years and have always had excellent results.

I installed the SSD on my HP Envy m6 laptop. I would say it made my laptop about twenty percent faster. I really recommend this SSD.

I have now had several other SSD's but Samsung seems to be best (fastest). Forget their migration software and get the free version of Macrium Reflect for cloning. You can use the Samsung Magician for optimizing the ssd.

Migration and install very easy. Upgrading to a SSD drive makes a huge difference in overall system performance. I have been a Samsung fan for years and own numerous products. All have been reliable and priced fairly.

I did a clean install of Windows 7 and it gives my laptop a little extra pep. Easy to install, fits just right. I did not use the included software to migrate/clone data from the old hard drive, so I can't comment on that. If installing this in a desktop computer, you will need to purchase separately an adapter bracket and possibly an extra SATA cable. This does NOT include an adapter bracket.

These drive have worked great to speed up our 4 year old Mac Pro's. We also use them as caching drives for our media production.

I must admit that I am biased toward Samsung products. Most everything I have purchased with the Samsung brand, from microwaves to TVs and computer peripherals, has performed as expected. This drive is no different. I used the drive as the boot drive for a fresh install of Windows 10, so I didn't need to use the included drive mirroring software. The drive is packaged as a laptop drive, so no hard drive bay adapters are included. However, the mounting screws match up to a standard bay and allow one to screw in one side, which is adequate for a desktop system. The performance of the drive has been flawless so far. Samsung has a pretty good warranty, so I have piece of mind with the purchase. Overall, pretty good bang for the buck.

The SSD is much faster than standard drives. The system boots in seconds when using it as the primary boot drive.It is easy to install since it includes reliable clone software/disk utilities.

This was an effortless install on my older computer. Extremely fast. Should have made this move long ago. Quality product with a 5 year warranty. I plan on trying the faster M.2 interface next.

I needed a new drive for the new system I was building and I decided to go with an SSD instead of a typical HDD. After researching, I found this one on sale and read a lot of good reviews so I decided to buy it. After a few weeks of use, I can honestly say I am impressed. This thing boots into Windows for me in 10-11 seconds flat and using Samsung Magician, I was getting 535 MB/s sequential reads. Overall solid performance and no issues so far.
