I have 2 of these now in different sizes. They are fast and seem reliable. I'd like to know if the PRO version is much better, since the price difference is significant. I tried a Patriot Pyro. Build quality is much better with Samsung. On the Patriot Pyro, the SATA cable would not latch (as I had seen in other reviews) and would keep falling out. I had to rig it so that another cable was putting pressure on the plug to keep it in. Overall, very happy with the Samsung EVO

This Samsung SSD was a breath of life for my 3 year old laptop. I was able to clone my old 7500rpm HD, and swap in the new drive seamlessly. Samsung provides software on their website to clone your old drive. It was truly plug and play. Fits right into the space where the old drive sat, and the computer fired up the first time without any issues. This is my second Samsung EVO 850, and with the 5 year warranty, along with 3D Vertical Nand architecture, I won't trust my devices to any other SSD. If you're looking to bring older hardware into the 21st century, go with the Samsung EVO!

Worked as expected. Installed in a mid-2011 iMac and it runs like a brand new computer now. No issues setting it up as a Fusion drive and enabling Trim.

I had a PNY die on me that they wouldnt warranty because I didnt have all original packaging and original receipt (was 45 days old) so I went the Samsung route this time because of previous review's reliability and stability. I can say im impressed. Its not the fastest SSD on the planet but my system boots plenty fast and is totally stable. Running a Corei7 5930, 32 Gigs of Dominator and a 980Ti setup. System is a beast. I'd totally recommend this drive.

After a bad experience with a Sandisk SSD from new, I bought this instead. Night & day difference without a huge cost increase. It comes well packaged despite the small box. It comes with software, I prefer to use Seagate's Acronis tool for drive migration. The read/write speeds are extremely fast & I've had zero issues thus far. Mainly a boot drive, it is more than ample storage & performance for the price. This brand retails a few bucks more than others but it well worth it. 479mb/s in a Windows speed test with all regular programs running.

Put this SSD drive into an old MacBook Pro and changed its every aspect.. What a great change for a good price.

I had some issues installing this 250gb version to my HP Elitebook laptop. I later found that if the original partition (500gb - only 200gb used) exceeds the total capacity of the new HDD or SSD you may not be able to properly complete set up. The software that comes with the device is good - depending on your computer you may need additional hardware for a clean install. I later invested in a 1TB SSD and solved my storage conflict.

I love the Samsung EVO SSD drives. I purchased a 256GB drive to replace in a laptop, and after reimaging onto the SSD, I have new life in the old beast - better than new.

The hard drive in my 2011 MacBook Pro bit the dust. The choice was a minimum of $1,300 dollars for a new one or a repair. After a little research I bought the Samsung 850 EVO 250MB SSD. A simple installation of 20 minutes and my old MacBook is running like a new one! Don't settle for a cheap $59.00 one...they will not perform. for $99.99 The Samsung is a deal and . will have your machine running lightning fast.

I used to turn my computer on and walk away while it started up. Once it did start it took forever for things to launch. Now it just starts and everything loads right away. The install was easy. I decided to do a fresh install of Windows, so I don't know about the migration part. I would suggest this upgrade to anyone that wants to add life back to their PC. Don't forget to enable AHCI in the BIOS for best performance.

I actually just upgraded from a 5 year old SSD that was only 40GB. I definitely needed more C drive space so I needed something bigger. After reading reviews I went with this Samsung 850 EVO because it is plenty fast for my applications. PC start-up time alone is crazy fast. The best part was with Samsungs software that copied my old SSD to the new one.. no re-installing Windows or having to manually transfer anything.

Fast and stable. Easy to setup. Migration software did not work well for me. Other than that very satisfied and bought second drive.

This is a great SSD. It brought my 2012 Mac mini back to life everything feels way quicker no more spinning ball. Plan on picking up a second one for my gaming PC.

since its pretty much becoming standard to have an ssd drive for a boot drive i decided to go ahead and purchase this for my boot drive. ive never seen a computer boot up so fast in my life. definitely a good product. My only complaint is the size meaning im not satisfied with just 250gb. as far as everything else its definitely a win.

I already had a 5 year old Corsair SSD on my laptop. This one beats it by far. I never thought performance difference would be noticeable from one ssd to another!

With the migration software this was super easy to move from my sluggish 7200 rpm drive to this SSD Drive, boots up in a few seconds and shuts down just as fast!

Hiya, while there are many SSDs out there, the Samsung EVO series has top rated performance, has the easiest to use migration software, and most important, has the easiest to use and smallest configuration software. Even if you don't know anything about TRIM or Indexing, their software lets you pick how you want to use your computer, and they set up the OS to maximize the performance and life of the SSD.

Purchased this for my Mac Pro - my orig. hard drive crashed and needed a replacement ASAP! Ultimetly selected this Samsung and now mac is working even better than the orig. 10x faster. It's been about 2 months and no issues all. It has slowed down a bit... it's not as fast as when it was originally installed (which is to be expected) but still working so much better than the orig hard drive. Everything transferred easily and doing it myself saved me $$

I have a ASUS laptop, I5 with 8GB RAM, but the hard drive was very slow. After adding the Samsung EVO this laptop is super fast now, no waiting for the hard drive to catch up.
