This particular Drive, is exceptionally fast. I have compared it to other SSD drives and this one by far is the fastest. I can boot my computer in about 10 seconds to the desktop. Starting applications are almost instant, it's like you don't notice you're using a computer anymore. I highly suggest this SSD drive.

A wopping 520mb/s read and write holy smokes. Capacity to speed / for the price is fair. Reputable brand. Satisified for what it dose. Horrible migration software though. Doesnt even work on its own product. Installed fresh install win 10 under 30 minutes. Happy camper. Do clean install...its better anyway.

I needed a new internal hard drive for my Macbook Pro as the original drive was running very slowly. . Best Buy offered the best selection at the best prices. The sales associate assisted the the selection of the best drive for my machine. I had the Geek Squad install the drive. The drive works perfectly!

I was building/upgrading my pc and wanted to have a separate drive for the OS. This has cut the boot time down by a few seconds which is nice. The design is pretty sleek and standard and they had it available in store which was convenient. I would recommend or consider buying the pro version in the future.

Installed in my 2011 Mac book pro and works great. Easy to Install and have noticed rapid improvement. My laptop now boots on an average between 10~12 secs. The apps open without any lag. Love this SSD..

This is my fourth Samsung 500GB SSD I have purchased in the last two years and have had no issues with them at all. For the price it is difficult to go with another manufacturer just to save a few dollars. It provides the best value of capacity, performance, and cost for the majority of home users.

Use this with another Evo in Raid 0 for my startup disk. Very fast so far in terms of general system snappiness. Using this arrangement for video editing, so as not to need to use an external drive for source files... haven’t tried it out yet for this purpose but looking forward to giving it a go.

This hard drive had a lot of very favorable reviews on the internet and, of course, it is a familiar brand name so I thought I would give it a try. I replaced a 250GB HDD with this 500GB SSD. To make this as easy as possible, I bought a hard drive duplicator (not expensive) and popped both hard drives in there - in 20 minutes I had a new SSD ready to go. This thing is lightning fast - computer boots fast, apps open fast AND there are no moving parts. I have had multiple spinning hard disks over the years fail, as moving parts tend to do. In summary - this is the single best upgrade you can make to your computer, particularly now that they are so much more affordable than they used to be.

I've owned several SSDs and this is my second Samsung 500GB EVO (bought one two weeks ago, too). I've just been doing light upgrading and thought that 500GB hit the Sweet Spot to use as an O/S Drive. Make sure you install Samsung Magician.. the utility programs that works with this drive and Overprovision your SSD.

My boot up time is much much better as well as program launch times. I can also see a difference in my battery life because the SDD uses much less juice than my old HDD.

This is an amazing SSD. My OS and games and applications are all installed on it. OS boots up really fast and my games have 1-3 second load screen depending on game. I suggest everyone buys a SSD even if only for an OS install. But if you are a gamer then i suggest you buy something large enough for your games too.

My 2012 macbook pro was nearing it's end. Instead of buying a new computer I decided to upgrade with the samsung ssd. My computer now runs like new, it boots up extremely fast, runs super quiet.

This is being used as an extra storage drive with my main drive being the 950 Pro m.2 drive. This is fast enough and reliable. Doesn't get any easier from an installation standpoint either.

I upgraded my 256gb hard drive in my 2011 MacBook Pro with the latest Samsung 500 gb SSD. Before this I upgraded memory from 4gb to 16gb but didn’t see a a great speed boost. But with SSD upgrade, Wow this laptop changed from a very slow 6 year old to a snappy modern Apple laptop!

Easy way to make a cheap laptop run like a much more expensive one. Have used numerous 840s and 850s and haven't had trouble with any. A far cry from the earlier SSDs from crucial, etc. Very fast, low power usage and with samsung magician, firmware updates are a breeze. you wont regret this purchase.

I bought the first one for a new computer build and didn't realize I needed a special cable that doesn't come with it. The cord was less than $10 and I bought it online. When I replaced the old hard drive in a 2 year old cheap laptop, it was well worth it. The laptop is better than it was when new.

I had a dell laptop that was less efficient. I was planning to replace and decided to give a try to this SSD . Once I installed it, the laptop was completely transformed. Now the windows open in few seconds and speed is so fast that I use this as my main laptop. Awesome product

Easy install and set up if you have some basic PC knowledge. Have another 240 gig I installed last year not problem either. Firmware updating can be a bit confusing but once you get tech support on the phone it is very simple

This drive changed my 08 MacBook Pro back to a work horse. Very rarely do I have the spinning beachball. It was easy to install and clicks along rapidly. Great investment.
