I purchased this SSD as a replacement to a failing disk. The drive is unbelievably fast and a fresh Windows installation and data transfers were faster than I've ever seen on other drives.

I was not sure whether to get this solid state or regular hard drive. After speaking to two associates at the store and having opposite opinions, I decided on this one. My laptop is faster and more responsive.

This is my fourth 850 EVO 500GB that I purchased in the last 2 years. I never had any trouble with this hard drive. In my opinion it's the most reliable solid state hard drive out there.

Wife's hard drive was having mechanical failure. After reading the review for Samsung 850 EVO, felt confident that this was to be a great replacement drive. This SSD drive was super quick after a clean install of Windows 10. Her 8 year old laptop in her words " is better than when she first got her laptop new". Literally 4 seconds from pushing the power button to the desktop and her apps was almost instantaneous. So freaking fast!!!!

I purchased this SSD to replace a disk drive as my primary system/boot drive in my desktop computer. I mounted the drive using a 2.5/3.5 bay adapter. I used Macrium Reflect to clone the old drive onto the new SSD. There were a few hiccups along the way, but now it works flawlessly. Boot and application start-up times are much faster. Would definitely recommend this product for anyone looking to replace an existing disk drive, or to add SSD storage to their system.

Samsung SSDs are the best in the industry. The EVO line is great. I have never had an issue with the dozens of Samsung SSDs I have bought over the years. This one is no exception.

This SSD is used in our main server for our small business. We use it in a RAID1 configuration mirrored with a HDD. This SSD is stupid fast! Samsung currently has some of the best SSDs on the market.

This solid state drive is incredibly fast and efficient. Downloads take one tenth the time they used to. Having my old hard drive crash was the best thing that could have happened.

I currently use this in my experimental Hackintosh as the main drive. System boots less than 5-6 seconds. Simply stunning. I have had no missing or corrupt data as of writing this.

When I bought this, I thought it would be difficult to install, but the setup instructions made it very easy to transfer all of the data from my old hdd, and to install it into my desktop. It makes no sound due to no moving parts, and the computer seems to run more efficiently.

The Samsung utility worked well once I realized it was designed to work with Windows running on the old hard drive. The new drive really sped up my wife's somewhat older laptop.

This is a birthday present and it needed to be worry free. The disk cloning software helped with the install. The drive boosted file opening and saving speed in photo editing.

I had done a bunch of research into picking the right SSD for my late 2012 MBP. I looked into Crucial, OCZ, Kingston, OWC, and other brands that had promising read and write speeds. It wasn't until I spoke with a handful of some fellow IT students, that I had made my choice to go with Samsung. And up until now, I can say that this is the BEST SSD option to go with. I will let you do the research to actually take the time and study this, but the chipset that these drives are made with are of quality. I don't really know what else you may be looking for. Go with the EVO 500GB. Then get the OWC data doubler for your MBP, your machine will last you for many more years to come.

I use this SSD as my primary storage for games on my PC, its fast and you can definitely tell the difference between it and a normal HDD. My only complaint is that I didn't buy one big enough

Shipped fast by Best Buy. This Samsung EVO 850 replaced the original 128GB SSD in MacBook Pro 13-inch. Great Performance since I ran multiple Virtual Machines under VMware Fusion and VirtualBox.
