Installed this as my new OS drive and it's fast! i wish i did this earlier to my other computers. i kinda wished it came with a mounting bracket or screws.

This drive is fast and easy to install. The drive comes with software to copy your old drive to the new one which is easy to use. The Samsung Magician software will let you know if it's setup for the fastest SATA settings. There's also some good benchmarking tools and a rapid mode which will make the drive even faster.

Replaced the original 500GB hard drive with this SSD on a 7 year old HP Pavilion with an I3 processor, The laptop performance difference was unbelievable. Boots right up, applications load in seconds and pictures pop right in. I had upgraded the memory years ago, but I should have put in a SSD first.....I was considering buying a new laptop, but with the EVO SSD it runs like new again. Strongly recommended

Over the years, I've found that certain brands make certain items better than others. Some make better hard drives, others USB drives, but after reading a lot of reviews and benchmarks, I found the EVO 850 gives the most bang for your buck, and this 500 doesn't disappoint. Before, I had 2 120GB SSD's in RAID 1, but this one is definitely faster. I'm glad I spent a little more to get a lot better.

I purchased this SSD as an upgrade to a 250GB Samsung 840 because I needed more primary drive space. Cloning the drive was extremely easy with the Samsung Magician Software and a $10, 2.5" SATA to USB 3.0 cable. I chose this drive because of warranty & performance. When I benchmarked the drive I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was almost twice as fast as the 840 that it replaced.

Due to the need for more space on the original HD the best option was the Samsung 850 Evo SSD. This is by far the best purchase for an aging laptop

I have purchased several SSD's and I have always preferred the ones from Samsung. I bought this SSD as a replacement for a aging older Sata drive. The one thing I love about Samsung's SSD's is the cloning software for the drives. It works great and the SSD booted up just as it was the original HD. Far as performance, it is fast. The computer boots up in seconds.

I installed this drive in a fairly old laptop and it now boots up in a matter of seconds vs 3-4 minutes. Looking forward to adding network storage using these.

Replaced a 500 GB hdd in 2011 Macmini. Excellent upgrade. If you are thinking about changing from hdd to ssd, just do it! Strongly recommended.

I purchased this SSD to replace my 5 year old one, so the performance increases in this review are benchmarked against a relatively old and slow SSD. The install of the drive was relatively pain free, minus having to use the included CD to install the drivers before installing the OS. So, if you intend to make this your primary OS drive, make sure you know how to work with the BIOS or read all instructions first and carefully. I am using the drive to run Windows 10 and install all my games, with a separated HDD for files and data. The drive out performs my old drive in read and write time, such that I am bottle necked by my internet download speed for writing, and CPU/GPU in terms of reading. The drive itself is stable and reliable, as I haven't had any issues with it yet. Before my games were running at medium settings, but noe I am running at ultra. This doesn't mean that using it will improve your computer's capabilities, but it will not hinder your other components. I do have this strange issue when I boot my computer, where it will attempt to boot 4 times before successfully booting, but so believe this is a PSU or BIOS issue not related to the SSD. It could be the drive at fault, and if it is, it is only a annoyance. Overall, I recommend this drive if you are on a budget and want something fast and reliable.

I've been using a few of these in my Mac Pro 5,1 and my 2012 MacBook Pro and haven't had any problems so far. Would definitely buy again (and probably will.)

The Samsung EVO 850 500GB is a great value for the money. This hard drive replace a micro SSD in a new laptop and increased the performance.

Samsung SSDs are some of the best with great speeds. I mainly use this one for games and it helps boot each game up faster than regular hdd.

Read a lot of reviews before purchasing and it works as stated. Definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a low cost performance boost.

I upgraded my hard drive to this beast and my slow laptop became like brand new. It loads so fast. Im buying some more for my kids' laptops

the prices on these drives have really come down. This is the best way to make a computer faster. Take out the Harddrive and put in an SSD!

I'm taking online Seminary courses at a university out East. During my course work, I would notice that my system was stalling and taking forever to load. Since this started approximately the same time as the Widows 10 update in August, I figured I had a bad download. Instead it was my hard drive starting to fail. Once Best Buy had diagnosed this problem, I chose to go with a SSD drive instead of the normal hard drive and I am impressed. Much faster from a hard start. Plenty of space for programs. I would recommend this SSD.

I am a huge fan and have bought two of these to do a SSD swap for my 08 Mac book pro and wife's '10 MBP. Both are working lightning fast now and are great.

Purchased this to replace older Corsair SSD, and works great. Just cloned older drive, installed,and was up and running a half hour later.

works great with my dell laptop, applications open way much faster that before, i don't experience any disk related blue screens anymore.
