Have been looking for an ssd for a while, and when comparing brands and storage, the Samsung 850Evo was always on top. The SSD is super fast, with boot times around 30 seconds, and 2 or 3 coming out of sleep. Only downside is 500gb is not a lot of space now a day, so when you clone your drive, just be weary of that, as volume space fills quickly.

I was looking for decreased load times with this SSD. Installed in a 3 year old, low-mid range PC. The performance difference is like night and day. Boot times are less than 30 seconds (previously around 2 minutes), and games/apps load much faster than before. This is exactly what i was hoping for.

This Samsung Evo 850 was excellent. Very easy to install and setup on my Lenovo and Dell laptops. I tested both laptops to see how each would improve from a HDD to an SSD. Windows 10 boots up in 9 seconds now and shuts down in less than 5 seconds. Performance is great, have not experienced any problems in over 2 months. Everything is fast from bootup, to launching apps, downloads, multi-tasking, etc. I'll never go back to a Hard Disk anymore after using an SSD. This Samsung Evo has a nice 5 year warranty, and everyone I know highly recommends this over other brands. Would recommend this to anyone to dramatically boost the performance on their computers.

I have several of these on my current PC and it works wonders, fast boot times, low noise, unrivaled performance. Would definitely recommend this over all other SSDs based on speeds and performance alone.

I purchased this drive as an upgrade to my 6 year old home laptop, and I am certainly impressed! Before the SSD my laptop seemed to get slower and slower everyday. Boot up time would take 15-20 minutes and everything seemed bogged down. I hated my slow, ancient brick of a laptop. After purchasing and installing the 500GB WD SSD, my feelings turned 180. Not only did the boot up and run time speed up significantly, but I actually started having fun using the laptop again! The boot time is now around 1 minute! What a world of difference! I feel that everyone needs to replace their old hard drives and move to solid state. The speed increase alone is worth the upgrade, not even to mention the energy savings. If you are even thinking about upgrading to a SSD, you need to buy this drive. It is completely worth every penny!

This is a great upgrade for your existing hard disk drive. The SSD will greatly reduce your boot-up time, and is super fast for saving files. The Samsung comes with a clone program, which makes it super easy to clone your existing hard drive, replace the old drive with the new SSD, and keep on running without having to do a clean Windows install. I cloned my hard drive, installed the SSD, re-booted the system, then re-installed the old hard drive, formatted it, and set it up to be the back-up storage drive. I'm pleased with the purchase, it's a very fast upgrade for your system. If you're still using a hard disk drive, and thinking about upgrading to an SSD, do it, it's definitely worth it!

First , My Cpu fried. New build time. Then my Cuda started making weird beep..Click noises. I salvaged what I could before it's ultimate demise. It's funny cause my ooold WD is still going strong. Using it as backup now. I downloaded Win10 recovery and started new. logged into account, activated as major hardware change... and Bam! up and running. Thank you Microsoft (Did I actually say that?) No issues with this SSD at all. Didn't even need the CD. It is fast and smooth. I think boot up time is less than 20 sec. It is sooo much faster than mechanical. Gigabyte B350 Gaming 3 Ryzen 5 1600x AGP 8.0 card ..just kidding

I purchased this drive because my 7 year old PC was having issues with traditional drives. Setup was incredibly easy and once I booted to Windows 10, it was like having a brand new PC (something a lot of reviews will tell you). I use it for my OS and gaming and couldn't be happier. That said, I would encourage you to make sure you have a suitable mount before purchasing or make sure you get one with your drive. Either way, I highly recommend this drive to help boost an older system or for any data storage needs.

Chose this based on reviews for my laptop. Easy installation and works very well out of the box. Very powerful and quiet. Allows for faster downloads. Easy to find software online. Very fast speeds. Good warranty and reliability. Also very lightweight. Laptop boots very quickly. Performance is excellent. Plenty of room for OS and programs.

My boot times with this SSD are fast and when I open up a game it opens up fast. transfer times with this SSD are really good too. I dont have any benchmark numbers, but compared to my old HDD, it has been a great improvement. Gave my computer more life. I also edit videos off this drive, which has been great. I'm sure you can get way better performance for video editing from a m.2 flash drive, but if your on a budget, this could be a good medium. better than a HDD.

I have installed several Samsung V-NAND SSD 850 EVO Drives on my Windows 10 PC's without a glitch. The is a great upgrade (Super fast startups and shutdowns) And quicker with drive intensive tasks (Antivirus scans) Note: I have noticed however that since the Fall Windows Creator Update 1709 16299.64. Windows is now controlling the Samsung SSD device instead of the Software that Samsung supplied. It seems fine no problems with the windows driver.

Just Buy it.. My 2012 Laptop has just came alive. It was so noisy that i didnt looked it and never wanted to open , but a real change happened after the SSD was installed , you wont believe it , the laptop starts in 1-2 seconds !!!! i have less data though , but the boot up time and the app start time is tremendously fast that i am liking my own laptop again and dont want to spend more money in purchasing laptop for another 3-4 years ;)

I replaced a 1 TB hard drive on an HP All in One Touchscreen computer with the Samsung EVO 850 SSD. (I have a home NAS that has all of the storage I need). I had to buy a USB to SATA to do the data transfer using the data transfer program from Samsungs website. Very simple process but it took some time (I let it run overnight). Boot up time went from minutes down to seconds and performance increased across the board on any program I ran.

This is the most reliable solid state hard drive available. Sure it's a little bit more expensive than the PNY and SanDisk models, but it is worth every cent. The Samsung SSD's are also consistently fast. Faster in many cases than drives with the same specs. Don't cheap out. Get the Samsung. You'll be glad you did. I fix computers for a living, and I don't purchase any other brand for SSD. I have installed hundreds of these drives.

I bought the SSD card-drive because the “High Sierra” update bricked my original drive. Really easy to install myself and vastly improved the machine speed over the rotating drive. Had to jump through some hoops to re-image the machine but it wasn’t difficult, just tedious. Really disappointed in the Geek Squad though ... I brought it to them first but apparently a 6 year old machine was just too antique for them to work on.

I was originally going to buy the PRO version of this SSD to replace a noisy Toshiba hard drive, but I didn't have enough cash so I bought this one instead. And WoW am amazed by it's performance! At first, I was a bit doubtful purchasing this due to some reviews saying that it slows down or dies after a month or so. But it's now been more than a month and still works like brand new! No more embarrassing hard drive noise!

Works great for my Macbook pro. It's made my computer go a lot, lot faster and was super easy to install.

My hp dv7 is about 4 years old and was starting to get laggy. I installed this hard drive and a fresh copy of the operating system along with a windows 10 upgrade and have experienced amazing improvements. startup/shutdown times and opening programs are much faster. Cloning my existing HD was really easy with samsung's online instructions.

Fast, reliable, runs on low power with no heat or noise. What could be better?

I installed this drive in a 2012 MacBook Pro, that I use in my recording studio. The standard 500 GB Hard Drive worked fine, but I really wanted faster performance, so I installed the Samsung SSD, 16 GB RAM and put the original drive in an external case to store only audio files on. Now, the MacBook is super fast, boots up in 13 seconds and performs all tasks instantly, even when running more than 50 tracks with multiple plugins going. This is probably the best upgrade for the money, along with the additional RAM. I highly recommend this SSD.
