I bought this drive to bring back a friends 4 year old Samsung laptop from being junked as it was their favorite laptop. Besides just upgrading the other essentials, this drive just made the difference. The boot up time was next to instant and the response time of applications running was significantly faster than any 7200 RPM drive and not to mention cooler and quieter!

Replaced hard drive in mac book pro with solid state drive. Easy to do. Required special screw driver. Back came off n on with no problem. This drive has worked great for over a month. Mac boots immediately. So much faster.

It's working excellent with my Laptop Asus. Before was HDD (WD) with 1TB size and some damage happened on some clusters and Windows 7 start slow and later on the laptop not booting at all. But a new Samsung SSD (500GB) is a great fit for this laptop and it is faster than before and currently, Windows 10 is installed on Asus.

I replaced a 5400rpm 1TB hard drive on 3 year old Samsung i7 laptop with this 500Gb SSD. It completely revived the snappiness the computer seemed to have when new. (It was a WIN 7 box, then 8.1, then WIN 10). I had just about given up on non-Apple computers, but having an SSD may be the cause of some of the faster speed perception of these Apple laptops. This SSD was very easy to install physically and the Samsung cloning software was perfect in cloning the old harddrive. The Samsung software recommended some Windows optimization tweaks for SSD drives and it made the changes with no difficulties. That made a major speed increase even faster. I have had no crashes or other problems with this computer and it boots up amazingly fast. Highly recommended.

Samsung has always been known for having great Solid State Drives (SSD) throughout the years and this drive is no difference. These drives are meant to speed up the day to day to tasks by a marginal amount. This could mean that just booting up and logging into your computer could take a matter of seconds. This drive not only improves booting up but also improves applications. You’ll notice many applications will open and load on the fly. If you currently have a mechanical drive (HDD) and on the fence on whether to upgrade to a this SSD, then all I will say is “Once you go Solid State, you’ll never go back”. Setup: Setup was as easy as pulling out the old drive and popping the SSD into the slot. The hardest part was determining if I’d like reinstall the OS (operating system) or move all the data from the old drive over. I highly recommend reinstalling the OS so you can start off fresh and worry about moving over corrupted files from the old drive. NOTE: 1. You’ll need an adapter/bay if you’re upgrading a drive in your desktop (tower) if the case doesn’t already come with one. 2. If you decide to move the data from the old drive over, then you’ll need a cable (SATA to USB) to transfer the files over. PROS: - Faster Speeds from booting up the drive to faster application loading - 5-year warranty if the drive were to stop working randomly (hasn’t happened with the 4 I currently have) - Software available for data migration (moving data over from your old hard drive). - Faster read and write speeds than majority of the competitors out there CONS: - The drive uses a SATA connector versus the newer M.2 drives that many newer motherboards are starting to support. - If you’re upgrading the drive in a desktop (tower) then you’re going to need to need a 2.5 in to 3.5 in adapter/bay to add it to the tower. This isn’t included in the box. - There isn’t a cable (SATA to USB) to transfer data from the old drive to the new drive. You’ll have to purchase a cable if you’d like to pull everything over. The alternative option would be the reinstall the OS you currently have. All in all, whether you’re looking to get your first SSD or your tenth, you’re going to be happy with this drive. Samsung has been well known for their great drives and definitely won’t be disappointed with this one. I’ll say this one last time, “Once you go Solid State, you’ll never go back”.

If you're looking for something fast and reliable, this is the way to go. We've been using a bunch of these in the computers at my work and I liked them so much that I went and bought one for my desktop.

I have a Mid-2011 Macbook Pro. I had it with a 320GB HD, and over the years had gotten a little slow. I moved all my data (documents, movies, photos, music) to an external HD and the cloud, and it was still slow. After a ton of research, I decided on this SSD. The install was super easy (even for people that are minimally confident with electronics). Before the swap, my MBP could take upwards of three minutes to boot. Now it consistently boots in 15 seconds or less. You will not be disappointed, especially if you combine your upgrade with a RAM upgrade!

I purchased this drive to replace the standard 500GB 5400 RPM in my 2012 MacBook Pro. The performance difference is amazing. Apps open almost instantly and boot time is 4-5x faster. I also like that the drive is noticeably lighter than a traditional HDD, which allows you to shave off some weight from the laptop.

This solid state works exceptionally well and fast. I upgraded from a hard drive and I'm seeing a huge improvement in speed and functionality. I read a lot of reviews online about solid states, their stability and longevity, both of which have greatly improved over the past few years.

I bought this SSD drive to add a lot of speed to my laptop. This drive is so much faster than the WD My blue 500GB I had in my laptop. My laptop boots up so fast using fast startup or when using a full startup. It is worth every penny and I would recommend this drive to any with a slow Hard drive in there PC.

I installed this drive along side my old drive and used the included software to transfer the contents of my old drive to this drive. Once I removed the old drive all of my programs worked and there was no data loss. This is an easy upgrade and the drive is fast!

i did a good deal of research on this product and it is the best out there. Wife and kids handle the laptop and this insures against any hard drive abuse. Apps start up quickly. Laptop runs quietly. Also has large capacity.

Purchased 2 of these drives to replace hard disks in laptops. Used a USB external enclosure to connect the drives to the laptops. Disc cloning was a breeze; I used the recommended Samsung program for this. Removed the hard drive and inserted the SSD and the machines booted without trouble. Program loading is much faster now (this is my subjective observation, I did not do benchmarks). Have had no trouble over the last few months since purchase. I put the old drives in the USB external enclosures and connected them to the laptops for weekly automated backup. We are happy !! Definitely would recommend these drives.

I recommend replacing failing mechanical drives with Solid State Drives to my customers. This drive is noticeably faster to boot up and the operating system is much more responsive. This item brought an older model PC up to a more acceptable performance.

Bought this for my wife's 2012 MacBook Pro that was being a bit slow. Cut the boot time from 4 minutes to less than 30 seconds! Also fantastic for quick application loading and disc access within Creative Cloud apps.

I purchased this to replace a hard drive on my desktop pc. The installation was easy. The included software allowed me to move all of the content on the existing drive, including Windows 10, to the SSD. It works flawlessly and my system is faster.

Bought this to replace the HDD in my dell inspiron 15 laptop. The performance difference by upgrading was amazing. Will definitely recommend this ssd for people looking to purchase an ssd for the laptop.

This SSD was easy to install with little tools except for a screwdriver to mount it in a mounting kit. This drive is fast and makes booting a lot faster. The price on SSD drives has come down in the last couple of moths and is worth the price for a 500GB drive.

I purchased my 13" MacBook Pro in Spring 2010...I tried loading new OS X updates and my poor MacBook just keep getting slower and slower...then I purchased this SSD back in May 2015 instead of a brand new MacBook...and now it's October 2017 and the same 2010 MacBook Pro still works like new! The installation was easy, but make sure you read the instructions carefully (search for installation guides and videos online.) ***I would like to disclose that: --I rarely use my laptop anymore...maybe once or twice in 2 months...I only open and start up my laptop when I work on photoshop, edit photos (hobby, not a career), need to type VERY lengthy emails and documents from home (which I've been doing a lot on my iPad lately). --I'm still using OSX Yosemite, so I can't confirm if the latest OS X system today will work fine or not.

Installed in a Dell desktop computer with an adapter I bought on eBay and I was able to clone a standard hard drive to this SSD without a glitch. Boot time is almost instant and programs load a lot faster. Comes with cloning software.
