Samsung and solid state, are two words that just go together. It works, it's fast, and it's reliable enough for you to not have to worry about it, but don't take my word for it, look at various reviews for yourself, and you'll soon see why its STILL considered the best SSD for virtually everyone from gamers to power users. only the SanDisk extreme pro is better, but it cost more, the size is slightly smaller, and BestBuy doesn't carry it.

I bought this drive to replace my smaller 250 GB Samsung 840 EVO drive. Needless to say, these drives are extremely fast. I am never going to a mechanical drive again! The boot time alone, is worth the price of these drives. For the average user, there is no need to spend more money on the faster Samsung 850 Pros. Also, for gaming the EVOs work quite well. I also like the fact that the Samsung drives come with software to easily transfer your files and OS to your new drives. Some other brand SSDs that I have bought, did not come with any such software.

I've owned several of these drives and all are still going strong. I purchased another for an additional system. Boot speed is crazy fast and durability thus far has been fantastic.

I purchased a Samsung Spin 9 notebook from Best Buy which has three USB 3.0 ports as well as a 250GB SSD Drive C. I purchased this Samsung SSD because of the Samsung name and build quality of their products. I tried two different SSD case enclosures, one was USB 3.0 the other was USB 3.1. I used ATTO Benchmark to measure the SSD drive Read/Write speeds. The USB 3.1 case enclosure had the fastest Read/Write times: 450MB/sec. for both Read and Write times. SSD drives are getting less and less expensive and are light-weight, very portable, and very fast. You can't go wrong with Samsung SSD drives. I highly recommend purchasing this SSD drive as well as their 250GB, 1TB and 2TB SSD drives.

I purchased this as a replacement drive for my MacBook Pro Mid 2010. Installation was easy. The performance gains are exceptional with booting and launching applications being much faster.

Put this SSD drive into my laptop. Very easy to migrate with attached Samsung Software. Really makes a difference in speed. Boot time in seconds. Increases battery life a little as a added bonus.

I bought a brand new laptop on black Friday that has an i7 with I think 12 or 16gb of ram but it had a normal hard drive. I installed this and it instantly got blazingly fast. I love it.

I'm an IT Consultant and thisis my drive of choice when upgrading a client to solid state drives technology. It's fast read and write speeds, and has the higher IOPS of a lot of the solid state drives out there. Plus a give year warranty. You really can't go wrong with these drives.

I replaced all my standard primary hard drives in my computers with these 500GB SSDs. They are top quality and capacity is fine for my needs, runnning OS and some programs. My higher capacity secondary drives are standard internal hard drives and external WDs for data and backups.

I installed this drive on a 2011 Model Mac Mini replacing the original drive. The drive was recognized during bootup and OSX installed without any issues. Results were incredible, it was like getting a new computer. Write speeds are 400-450MB/s and reads are just above 500. I did not test with old hard drive but I've seen tests on youtube that show the 2011 Mac Mini getting about 75MB/s. Overall I was very happy with the performance of this drive.

I bought this for my MacBook Pro, mid-2012, and it has made a tremendous difference in it's performance. It was easy to clone and install and I have not had any problems with it since.

Purchased it to put into a new computer. You might need to format it NTFS first before installing it in a new computer. No problems with the drive, and very fast.

I have purchased several of these hard drives and the performance is always impressive. This is one of the fastest drives for the price.

Even with the lower score of this drive at 4800.vs. 12000 for a 950 series drive it's still 4-5 times faster than what you have now. Grab it when its on sale. Comes with data transfer software, but you need a generic adaptor for it to work. The Apricorn adaptor was Not compatible and much more expensive than a $5 generic sata to usb 3 adaptor that would have worked with the free software. Overall very happy.

The drive was easy to install, and works great. Much faster than old drive. Only down side was the software that came with the drive. I ended up using EaseUs backup software.

Great solid state hard drive super fast. I put it in a 2012 MacBook Pro and it’s faster than I thought it would be. My Mac turns on in about 10 sec now. It’s super fast.

Works good faster and quieter than the disk drive good performance for the price

Sata 3 SSD are speed-limited by the SATA interface bandwidth, so if you are looking for the ultimate speed, get a NVMe PCIe SSD instead. If your system supports SATA 3 only, you won't be disappointed with this; I personally bought a few, and never had an issue with any of them. I cannot say the same for the Samsung cloning software that comes with the SSD; the last unit I bought came with the cloning software that wasn't even compatible with the disk itself, reporting a "disk disconnected" error. The easy fix was to download the latest version (the software will automatically prompt you if you have an Internet connection active when you launch it).
