Read and write speeds much faster. Runs cooler than HDD. Migration software worked for Windows 10 upgrade from 7. Will buy again for my other laptop.

Solid state hard drive is the way To go. This is now the fastest computer I've ever worked with. With quite a number of programs loaded, I still boot up in about 15 seconds.

Had purchased a couple of Samsung SSDs and they have always worked well. this did not disappoint. I don't think it's the absolute fastest but I had no problems with it.

I searched high and low for the best replacement of my hard dive for my mac book pro 2011. After tons of research and product reviews I came to the conclusion that the 850 evo 500gb from samsung was going to be my choice. Speed, read/ write and performance combined with price nothing can touch it.

Speed and performance of this SSD is bar none. Its a great upgrade to a previously mechanical internal laptop hard drive. I feel a lot more secure carrying my laptop around in my backpack in sleep mode and being able to easily pull it out and get right back up to going. I highly recommend this hard drive upgrade to anyone looking for speed and performance increases or reliability upgrades to their laptop.

Once you go SSD you will never go back. Computer boots up in mere seconds and file retrieval is lightning fast. Has improved my working speed tremendously. Highly recommended.

When I first tried SSD's I bought a Crucial product, and it died on me in less than a month. I then took my time read what I could, and it seemed Samsung was the frontrunner to trust. I haven't regretted since, and will continue to trust Samsung for their SSD products.

From the moment I opened the case to installation, it took just 7 or so minutes. When the system was powered up it was recognized correctly by the system bios. Using the Disk Management tools in Windows 10 I formatted it (NTFS) and then copied all 380GB of my Steam from my existing 2TB (D:) HDD onto it. Then I re-lettered the drives so the new Samsung SSD became the (D:) drive and since the original path for the games was preserved they all run fine. The only difference is that they now load incredibly fast with no pauses for texture or map loading! I'm very pleased with the performance of my new Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD

I went with the EVO due to price and positives review on Tom's Hardware. Great mid-range drive, high capacity, good warranty, and easy to use. When I migrated last time from my spindle drive to ssd, I used an open source app to migrate the OS drive; the EVO comes with software that handled the migration for me. All I had to do was power off the system, plug in the new drive (while keeping the old drive attached), and boot either from a USB drive that could have created previously or as I did, just boot from CD. Ran the migration application, powered system off, unplugged the old drive and powered back on. Works great!

Works great, very fast, and never any driver/installation issues. Samsung makes the best and fastest SSDs for the money. Worth a few more bucks than the cheaper brands.

Great SSD for my alienware laptop! It works great with the games that I enjoy and while still a bit expensive for me, it's well worth the price once you see how fast it works.

My 2012 MacBook Pro was running slow and the IT person recommended installing a solid state hard drive. Now my laptop runs great and I don't have any problems with slowness.

Samsung EVO series is THE current best SSD in the market, so for those of who wants speed and readability, trust Samsung. Sure it's expensive compared to other SSD that is currently on the market, but you are paying for a well worth SSD with the speed and performance any tech gurus are after!

So far so good. Had to upgrade my mounting hardware, but that was easy. Runs great. Some things load up faster for sure. I have not had one of these before but so far I am happy.

Samsung has always made fast and reliable SSDs. This drive is no exception. This may cost a few bucks more than some of the other brands stocked at Best Buy, but it's worth it!

Its fast, reliable, and small footprint is all you can really ask for in a HDD nowadays. I have this in a RAID 0 array on a gaming machine with a matching HDD. Works flawlessly.

Samsung has never let me down. Again another excellent product. Worked great straight out of the box. Easy to install and has worked flawlesly for over a year.

This is a MUST HAVE addition to your computer to increase performance of you current or older machine. Although I was using an excellent platter drive for its time in my machine, the Samsung 850 EVO Solid State Drive (SSD) increased the performance from 25 reads / 31 writes to 284 reads / 272 writes in an older machine. My newer machine clocked in with 550 reads / 550 writes. Amazing performance difference. The Samsung migration software that comes with the SSD also makes it a very easy process to move your root drive OS, programs, and data from your old drive to the new SSD. Cloning your drive was amazingly fast and intuitive.

I’ve had several of these ssd drives and have yet to have a problem with any of them. I use them to replace stock HDD’s in laptops. Much faster and very reliable!

Wow, speed and reliability are awesome. After two failed hard drives of the regular kind this is heaven. No more breakdowns.
