Sure you could get a 960 m.2 but unless you're doing heavy file transfers to other m.2 drive you're only as fast as what can read or write as fast as you. I've got two of these in my gaming/work station pc. One 250gb for OS and software. One 500gb for games. I've also got one in my wife's 2012 MacBook Pro. It gave the,somewhat old, device new life.

This is a excellent upgrade to any computer. It has a RAM buffer to improve performance resulting in improved throughput with multiple small writes (4k). I am using this drive in a windows 10 system with a considerable improvement in performance the old hard drive is now a storage drive for pictures and videos. It has a 5 year warranty.

The Samsung 850 EVO series was a compromise for me. I wanted a solid and reliable but fast (read and write) SSD but didn't want to pay the Samsung PRO prices. No regrets - this is my 3rd EVO in 3 separate laptops. Only wish it included a cable to transfer data (had an older set up from a SanDisk drive) but once in place, it does its job well.

I bought a new MacBook Pro mid 2012 model and this was an easy upgrade from the standard hard drive. This is the last MacBook that is upgradeable before they came out withe the air and pro with Retina display which are not upgradeable. Big improvement for speed and energy consumption. Saves a little weight and is not affected by bumps like a standard HD.

This is the Second Samsung 850 EVO drive I've purchased to rejuvenate Windows 7 Thinkpad Laptops - and they really made a huge difference in the performance of each machine, giving them new life. Best Buy's pricing was great as well, and was more aggressive than online stores!

Very happy with speed and durability excellent product

Adding an SSD to my rig as the primary drive was the best upgrade ever. Samsung delivers big time. My PC is so much faster and I've never had an issue with the drive. As a system builder, I've been using Samsung EVO drives for over 2 years now. I've been so happy with mine that the EVO drive has become the only one I recommend.

This drive was a perfect, and really easy, replacement in my wife's 2012 MacBookPro. The machine had become dog slow, and the Samsung solid state drive really made it a new computer. I also increased RAM from 4 to 16gb, and honestly the new HD made a much bigger difference in performance than the RAM upgrade. Installation was a snap.

Well my son installed the drive on my laptop.It took him around 20 minutes . It took him longer to install all new software a few hours . The problem was Asus fault trying to fine driver files for my model . But all is well and this computer is unbelievable fast it start in seconds. Everything is faster loading programs and loading pages off the net .
