This is a great drive. I've had two other Samsung SSD's in the past and they'd still be working if the laptops weren't lost in a flood. The installation can be a little tricky depending on the laptop, but that has nothing to do with the drive - everything to do with being able to access the existing drive in the PC.

A solid performer and a good value. Replaced an old WD 1TB hard drive in my desktop computer. Installation was easy. Used the same cables that were used on the old drive.

This was truly a "plug and play" item. I just plugged it in, used the software furnished to clone the drive and it was done. Great product. I had read a lot of reviews about people having problems with other brands but all reviews for this tended to be positive. Good buying choice even if it was a bit more expensive.

This SSD is fast, but what I really appreciated was the software that Samsung provides for cloning. It was amazingly easy and there were no issues when I cloned to the Samsung SSD then installed it into my laptop. It was seemless!!! Awesome job Samsung (Note you will need the cable/adapter for doing the clone)

I purchased this hard drive as part of some upgrades to my existing laptop. If you have a moderate amount of computer knowledge, most people should be able to switch hard drives. Because this is solid state hard drive, it really has increased the speed of my laptop and given a few more years of service to it.

Only have for about a month now, Great so far, hard drive was failing in laptop, this ssd brought life back to the pc, it's lightening fast now. Bought from best buy, Great service.

This is my second SSD for my MacBook Pro. I'm am impressed with speed along with 16gb of ram. It runs almost as fast as the newer MacBook pros

I've owned several SSD products in the past. I have used mostly intel ssd and switched over to Samsung. I recently had the 830 pro than 840 pro. The speed increases were not very big in the read speed department. This 850 EVO would be my fourth SSD I have owned. What makes this such a good buy is the read and write speeds are equally pretty high. In a real everyday usage this would not be any slower than a 840 PRO. What it shines in is having the extra storage space. You won't really have to use TRIM command because windows 10 is optimized for these drives. Just pop this in and let it work. Over the last 5yrs of owning Samsung SSDS I have never ever had any problems and they are covered by mfg warranty for 3-5yrs depending on what model. Definitely spend more and go with Samsung. Somebody on the verge of doing research and what to buy what is the best bang for the buck value I would get this or the Crucial MX series. Anyone still using traditional spinning hard drives...do yourself a favor and just get SSD. It is the best upgrade to performance/$ ratio period.

Easy to transfer data with software provided. The hardest thing I encountered was getting the existing drive out of my laptop. It is a dell and I had to remove the motherboard to access the hard drive. Works great and super fast. Money well spent

I had geek squad install drive, so do not know how easy it was to install. The drive itself is so much quicker. My old drive light use to flash and seamed to take forever when loading any programs. Now i double click and program right there. Startup is much faster. This was the best upgrade i made for my computer.

This solid state drive has read and write speeds that overcome the slow hard drives. For half a terabyte, this drive keeps your main software, programs, and games loading up faster than a hard drive can. Pretty worth it if you have only ever owned a hard drive. 10/10 would recommend for load ups as well.

Increased of performance 300%. Migration was simple, be sure to plug device into sata on mobo and not USB pigtail adapter, or software will recognise the add-on as a Seagate and migration feature won't work. Apparently these solid drives are actually Seagate and not Samsung, this is no deal breaker for me.

Awesome hard deive to have. Put my core files on it like windows 10 and runs and boots up like a dream.

Always try to buy my electronics at best buy. They back up their warranty's. The Samsung 850 EVO 500GB Solid State Drive is great! The only one I believe is better is the Samsung 850 PRO 512GB Solid State Drive. Have bought 5 so far. So you know I trust them. laptops seem to work faster with them.

I installed this into a Lenovo laptop my wife uses. It made the system boot in a few seconds, and the laptop responds instantly instead of seconds (system originally had a hybrid hdd) . Hopefully will extend battery life and last a while.

My 2010 Macbook Pro was slow and battery life decreased. New 500 Gg hard drive was easy to install, some work to reinstall software. Now gets decent battery life and is much faster!! Great price!

I have a Sandisk SSD but this one is my favorite, love the metallic build, makes it feel more sturdy and robust.

Another great product from Samsung tech. I love this SSD for my home PC!!
