The Evo is the second drive in my Mac Mini Server. It's perfect for storing my music and because no motors are needed for spinning platters it doesn't introduce any extra electrical noise into the music.

My old laptop now runs as a brand new one. The startup time is reduced by may be 80%. Everything just flies. I recommend this SSD to all who want to upgrade their old laptops. This and more memory and you get one.

I set this up as a boot drive and now my computer boots in about 20 seconds (Windows 10). After getting this, I also had to get a 100gb switch to copy files accross my network. Highly recommended.

Used as a replacement for the HD in my HP Envy x360. Transferred the Windows 10 OS from the computer's original HD to the Samsung 850 EVO SSD and have been using it for a month with no problems or glitches.

This was an upgrade to an older iMac mini. My 1 TB conventional HD had gotten SO SLOW. I upgraded to this solid-state drive, and am blown away at how fast my computer now boots up, as well other R/W functions.

Super fast drive, Easy computer upgrade to make your machine extremely fast. Used to upgrade my Dad's aging computer, and it worked like a charm. Just took some time upgrading from a standard "disk" drive.

I was looking for a drive that I could use as a portable backup & transfer unit via USB 3.0; but, was light-weight and wouldn't be subject to potential mechanical issues that might occur with a typical hard-drive. In addition, I wanted to try out a high-quality SSHD and see if it lived up to advertised specifications. To achieve portability, I paired it with the Insignia 2.5" USB 3.0 SATA/HDD enclosure also found at Best Buy. Great combination! Works well, and I am quite pleased.

I bought this to replace a spinning drive in an older laptop. The system seemed faster with the SSD installed. I've bought 2 of these now for about $150-160 each, and that seems like a good value.

Its great to see prices dropping on SSDs. This one is a good deal, and it will speed up your system. Easy to install, super light (reduce laptop weight), a great upgrade for anyone using regular Hard Drives.

My MacBook Pro looked as if its original HD died. Bought this as a replacement. Discovered my HD wasn't dead but figured I'd keep the Samsung since I'd have to purchase one down the line. eventually. Got the OS on, transferred all my files and the computer is blazing along with my 16GB RAM. I looked at others but many said to go with Samsung and I know why, now. Boot up speed makes it up and going in about 10-15 seconds. Applications are launched in a blink of an eye. Solid buy.

The Samsung SSD came with migration software and it was easy to clone my old HD and install it on the Samsung SSD. Fit into my laptop with ease and is a real boost to my Windows 7 machine.

Bought this ssd for my laptop some time ago. Very happy as it’s been reliable since. Very happy! Great value and good for its time as more have come out since I got this.

I bought a Samsung 840 Evo back when SSDs were pricey as heck, so I knew exactly what I wanted and what I'd be getting. I looked at other brands, and read reviews all over the internet, but I kept coming back to the fact that Samsung makes perfectly reliable, fast SSDs that—though they may cost a few more dollars than the competitors—just work, and don't stop. That reliability is worth the extra bucks, considering I use my laptop every day for work. This 500 gig SSD was about the same price as the older Samsung 250 gig I had from about 4 years ago. Worth it.

Replaced internal hard drive that died. Replaced by geek squad. No issues whatsoever and laptop runs faster than the old sshd. Even price matched Amazon as these are a bit costly...but worth it
