My son’s hard drive crashed and I needed a new one ASAP so of course I turn to the Geek Squad. They directed me towards this drive and explained why I should upgrade to this drive and I was sold. I opted to install it myself and only needed to purchase a special small screwdriver at Lowe’s and then i was good to go. His computer runs much quicker now and I’m not having to purchase a new MacBook.

The Samsung - 850 Evo 500gb Internal Serial Ata Solid State Drive is worth the money! Now my computer boots up in about 5 seconds compared to my old hard drive taking about 2minutes! Easy to istall, I like the up in performance so munch I added another Samsung SSD.

I purchased this drive to speed up my 2011 iMac and it did the trick! I did however, have to purchase the Insignia external case in order to hook it up via USB and format the drive for Mac OS Extended Journaled and install High Sierra prior to installing the drive internally. (Not Samsung's fault, but still tedious) Now the iMac boots uber fast and file access is very efficient.

This SSD fully revived my Wife's Laptop. It was Snail-slow before the replacement w/this Solid state drive. My Wife was frustrated to her wits-end reminding me constantly please do something! Even if it is wrong? Her reaction: "This is Nice!!! Obviously, this choice was "Not Wrong"!!! So now I set @ Hero status. Til I mess something up? Nice to get a vacation from her Dog-house!

My old HDD started to fail, so I used UserBenchmark to identify the 850 EVO as a highly rated, attractive replacement. I am extremely satisfied and am enjoying its incredible performance on my Windows 10 desktop—what an incredible value. The drive was a breeze to install using the included Samsung cloning and diagnostic software (though a mounting bracket and data transfer cable were also needed in my case). Note that I am running a SATA II motherboard, and even then the drive is working so well that I am getting excellent, fast boot times and much improved Windows 10 performance. The only snag I encountered was having to restart Windows in safe mode in order to get it to run the SSD in AHCI mode (since I had installed Windows in IDE mode previously, safe mode was required to get Windows to recognize that it needed to switch to using the AHCI driver on startup).

Cut my laptop's boot time in half. MS Office software now launches in under 2 seconds. What a great improvement over my conventional drive. The Pro version is worth the extra few dollars for the better warranty, but the Evo version is very, very good as well. I used to think that upgrading RAM is the best improvement for any computer, but switching to SSD equals that boost.

This SSD is fast! Worked great in my new build. I would highly recommend.

SAmsung has rightfully earned a great reputation in the SSD market place. Not always the cheapest but they offer great performance, quality and reliability. I value my system performance and data too much to save a few bucks on budget drives. I have been running this drive as my main boot and applications drive for six months now and I have zero complaints!

I put this drive in an external USB 3.0 enclosure to add available space to my MacBook Pro. While it doesn't run as fast as the internal SSD it is a vast improvement over other USB 3.0 external hard drives I have.

Works flawlessly, I installed it in my 17" macbook pro and it worked fantastically. Faster boot times, less or no spinning beach balls! and noiseless. I would recommend it. After reading all the reviews I am confident it was a wise purchase
