This is one fast SSD. I put it in an enclosure and it works great as a scratch drive.

These Samsung SSD's (in combo with an adequate amount of RAM) are the best/cheapest upgrade for improving performance. For example, buy a cheap i7 PC, upgrade the RAM and clone the OS over to one of these drives. Why Samsung in particular? Because they're the most compatible and reliable drives around, bar none. Excellent - highly recommended.

If you want to max out the SATA III port on your PC, look no further. The advertised speeds will be reached with a late generation CPU and motherboard. Goodbye slow boot times and load times, eat my dust! An M.2 PCIE x4 SSD will eat this thing for breakfast, but you'll only get half the space for the same price, pick your poison.

I bought a couple of these and pair them together in a RAID 0 configuration for a fast scratch disk for video editing. The resulting speeds are right around 1,000 mb/sec read and write. The 850 Pros give you consistently higher write speeds than some of the cheaper SSDs you'll find out there, including it's 850 Evo cousin.

I purchased this Samsung pro SSD drive for use with my Xbox one S as an external hard drive. Although it was an expensive peripheral, the speed in which it runs large file games is amazing. All load times are severely decreased and some games even have more stable frame rates. I got it on sale. Worth the 220$ in my opinion

I purchased this 500GB SSD in order to replace a 1TB HDD. I believe the quality and value of an SSD is best for my laptop which I take everywhere. I will always use an SSD over an HDD in a laptop.

This is a premium drive with premium performance. It comes with a 10 years warranty and a very sophisticated technology. I had it installed in a highly important workstation where both speed and reliability are very important. Excellent performance, completely satisfied.

I'm extremely satisfied with the Samsung - 850 PRO 512GB SSD. It was easy to transfer/clone my old 240GB SSD to this new 512GB SSD. I have always had good service with the Samsung SSD and will eventually upgrade to the Samsung 960 Pro 1 TB SSD M.2 version.

R/W speed is great, but for day-to-day use this is actually not noticeably faster than the SanDisk Ultra II I put on another machine with similar spec other than the disk. Hopefully the high cost and the MLC makes this more reliable in the long run.

This is most likely the best consumer SSD on the market. The reviews will confirm. The speed and warranty are first rate. However not everyone will need or want to spend the extra bucks. I did because my PC is mission critical since I work from home.

I bought this specifically because of the 10 year life. it is really a pain when the drive dies. It's worth a lot to have one that can last this long.
