if you're still booting operating systems from a standard drive, stop. Samsung makes a decent (not the best) ssd. bought this one for a client, best price for performance I can find in any store.

First I had acquired the $300 dll 14-inch laptop which had a 1TB Hard Drive. This upgrade alone helps the laptop feel faster (especially for boot up and shutting down)

Great upgrade over a typical mechanical drive. Definitely a must if you are using mechanical in a laptop for the OS.
