Customers have good things to say about the 860 EVO 250GB Internal SATA 2.5" Solid State Drive's performance, ease of use, and fast boot times. Many appreciate its reasonable price and straightforward installation. Easy to install and it's super fast. Boot times are way faster than a harddrive

I bought 5 of these SSDs to upgrade laptops for a local school. They work as expected. The drives are very fast. Huge upgrade from a 5400rpm HDD. Samsung’s free data migration software is super easy to use and very fast cloning compared to other free options. I would continue to buy Samsung’s SSD anytime I need to upgrade a computer and I want to make sure the drive won’t fail in the future.

Used this to revive an older machine that only had sata II on the MB. Huge difference even on the slower interface. Of course, a big question with any disk drive is going to be longevity. Cant comment on that for obvious reasons but my other Samsung drives are going strong. The capacity is on the small side but was adequate for our needs with the ready availability of cloud storage.

Purchased a HP laptop awhile ago and it was slow to boot up (or do anything really). Upgraded my wife's HP laptop with this SSD and everything was great afterwards. When booting up I literally counted out to 50 before we got to the home screen, after replacing with this SSD I didn't even get to count to 8 and we were already logged in to Windows. Very fast product.. 10/10 would buy again.

Added Speed Boost to Any Computer 2011 or Newer

I've bought about 5 of these between the 850 and 860 series. They're basically the same drive, and you the 850 is discontinued so you can't really get that drive anyways. First Samsung Evo 850 I ever tried was on a 2007 Intel Core 2 Duo desktop. It did make the computer boot significantly faster, but the computer was still slow overall. This was back in 2015. So this will make old computers faster, but it can't do miracles. Every computer I've tried it on afterwards has seen a significant speed increase, and feels like a new computer. Just make sure you're getting a Sandy Bridge (2011) Intel Pentium or newer and it will be well worth the upgrade. If it's a really old computer or a spare computer, you may want to go with something cheaper like a PNY. But if it's your main computer, I'd probably get the Samsung.

I thought my two RAID0 15k rpm SATA drives would last me a life time. I am late to convert to SSD and this drive will extend the old core2 duo systems to at least another 3-5 years. Newest games loading nearly instantly and I feel regret that I bought a new i7 super system before I realized SSD had this big of an impact. At least the rest of the family won't need new systems now. Saved at least $3k! Woo!

Decent speed, great reliability and good price. While not the best drive in any individual category I consider them best overall drives you can get and the standard that I judge all other drives on.

This is a great SSD for the price. I cloned my old hard drive to this SSD on my old desktop and it made it a whole new machine. Samsung's cloning software was really easy to use and moved all my data over in a couple of steps. If you are thinking about getting this SSD to replace your hard drive I highly recommend it.

This SSD is excellent! I have several Samsung SSD's and I use this one as a boot drive. I highly recommend this drive for anyone who is either building or looking to upgrade an older PC. This drive will significantly increase the performance of older nachines.

If you’re in the market for an SSD, you probably already know about the benefits over a traditional HDD. This thing is blazing fast compared to a hard drive, especially when starting your computer up (if you have windows installed on the SSD). My only complaint with it is how fast it filled up, I would spring for the 500gb or 1Tb model if you plan on gaming with it.

Can't beat the price. Purchased several of them whenever upgrading standard hard disk with SSD. The good thing about Samsung SSD is that they come with a software which helps you clone existing hard drive and migrate to this new Samsung Evo SSD. The Samsung SSD migration software is nice

I bought the Samsung ssd 250 for my four year old laptop that it was beginning to show its age. The laptop was top of the line when I bought it with a Core i7, 1TB HD, great speakers, etc...and in the first few years it was supper snappy but lately it was taking forever to load Windows and programs also webpages were starting to take a bit longer to load even though I have a decent broadband speed. That is when I decided to swap out my old HD for this Samsung ssd and boy what a difference! now my laptop loads Windows in seconds compared to minutes like before. Webpages load in a snap and the whole windows experience has become more enjoyable. The drive comes with awesome software that monitors and tweeks the ssd and it also transfers your old data from the old drive to the new ssd. My only regret was not getting a bigger capacity drive but I have managed to enjoy it so far. If you are still using an old HDD, this is a must upgrade for your laptop.

I got this to replace a standard HDD in a laptop and the SSD makes all the difference in the world! The laptop boots faster and keeps everything running fast I compared the speeds at SSD userbenchmarks and this is rated higher than the other SSD's in the same price range. Excellent way to get new life into your older laptop.

If you want to speed up your computer at the start, you cannot beat adding an SSD drive. Samsung gives you solid product as well as some software that makes it so easy! If you need a speed upgrade for your old desktop or laptop spend a bit more money and get the Samsung line of SSD

My laptop only came with about 250 GB of storage and games quickly filled that up so I needed more storage and that's where I found this. It was one of the least expensive options at the time and it does what it needs to do. I haven't had any issues in the month that I have had it. Expect around 230 GB of actual storage space.

If you have a computer that was built in the last 10 years and it is running slow do not throw it out just yet. Consider getting a SSD. With this drive, you will be running faster than most of the computers on the market that do not come with a SSD. The only exclusion to this rule is in gaming or video editing.

The Samsung EVO drives have always been great, but I waited to get one until the 860. The price was just right and it installed without a hitch. I have all of my VR games on it now. I also bought another one for a friends computer and installed it there for the OS. I plan on buying a couple more to upgrade a laptop with too.

For consumer grade and even business class laptops or desktops, you can't go wrong with Samsung! The non-Pro version is extremely reliable and fast and well worth the money, but NO storage media is immune from failure, so always have a good backup plan for your operating system and critical data. BACKUP, BACKUP, BACKUP!!!

SSD drives should boost performance and this certainly did that for me. A 2-1/2 year old dell laptop is now worlds faster. The install was easy and the free transfer software download worked flawlessly to clone my old drive. Also the EVO technology is highly rated for extending the life of the drive which is a concern for SSDs.
