fast hard drive, easy install, dependable, will buy again

Easy install. Very fast and quiet. Fits all my stuff with room to spare.

I added this SSD into my laptop for storage and game regularly and have noticed no significant drops in performance and access times. It has been a great and economical addition of space. Installation is quick and easy.

Bought this drive to upgrade an old laptop. Super easy to set up. Downloaded the Samsung data migration software to clone the old drive. Afterwards, swap out the old disk and it is up and running. I can tell an improvement in performance right away. Will not hesitate to buy again or recommend to friends.

I've had several of these Samsung EVOs for years and I've always been impressed. I bought one in October, but in the first day it developed a problem where the Samsung Magician software no longer recognized it as a Samsung drive. Logging in to Windows took 5 minutes to get beyond a solid black screen with only a mouse pointer. Returned that one and got another one. No issues with this one so far. (I guess anyone can make an occasional lemon!) The Samsung data migration software makes switching fairly easy. No need to reinstall Windows. (You will need a SATA cable and free SATA port and power connector inside your computer --OR-- a USB-to-SATA connector for the purposes of cloning your existing hard drive. I temporarily disconnected the DVD drive and used its connectors for the cloning process.) A huge improvement over a mechanical hard drive and a great warranty also. It makes any desktop or laptop much faster. It feels like a new computer! Highly recommended.

Good sized ssd card for the price, and easy to install yourself

Replaced a mechanical drive with this SS version. It boots and functions so much faster for a small uptick in price vs. mechanical. I traveled with my mechanical drive, forgot to turn it off before closing up to tote. It crashed within 2 months of purchase. I'm somewhat more protected now for a small increase in price. Never going back!

I replaced a mechanical drive in a Dell desktop with the 860 evo. Easy to set-up with Samsung software. Software is free from the Samsung website. Cloning from old drive did take a couple hours. After that, just a matter of swapping the drives. I did use a 3.5 to 2.5 adapter tray to better fit the larger desktop drive slot. I love it. So fast and quiet.

After putting this in my old HP laptop the performance skyrocketed. Old HDD was slowing and caused the fan to run excessively. Start up time went from over 10mins (I'm not kidding) to 30s. The fan on my machine would run so loud I could hear it though my head phones and over the TV. This SSD changed all that now its so quite I barely even notice it on.

I’ve purchased three Samsung memory parts for my PCs and they’ve all made my builds so much faster (and 100% quiet VS. old mechanical HDs). I would recommend any SSD or M.2 drives from Samsung. ALSO, the magic clone software offered from Samsung is the best! It’s included with your device for fast and easy data transfer.

I have installed upwards of 50 of these and they haven't let me down yet. When coming from an HDD the improvement is night and day. Samsung's free data migration clone software available for download has worked well in nearly all attempts. Very strong performance per dollar value. I will be purchasing more for my clients.

Excellent SSD storage media, I have installed literally hundreds of these Samsung SSDs of various capacities and sizes over a ten year period and have yet to have any of them fail. They are super fast when compared to conventional hard drives of simple class and storage capacity.

Super fast and smooth. Easy to install and it has greatly improved my video gaming access speed from the typical 7200 RPM drives. Huge difference. Due to the thinly built structure, I was able to fit it into a narrow slot on my ITX case near a fan intake to reduce any worries of heat concerns.

I purchased this drive after the hard drive on my wife's Mac died. One of the geek squad members suggested it, and he was spot-on. Simple to install and boot up, and sped up the machine as well. After seeing the results I put one in my daughters Mac because she was complaining about the speed of the machine. Worked like a charm again!

Installed on an MSI Stealth Pro 230 and it fit without any issues. Never used a SSD until now. Huge difference coming from HDD as far as speed, weight and heat. This product is noticeably faster and the weight is almost non existent. Not completely sure but i believe the laptop runs slightly cooler due to the lack of moving parts thus saving power.

I have purchased these in the past and they will definitely speed up your computer if your old computer has a standard hard drive. Plus the Samsung migration utility allows you to take an image of your current drive to the SSD without having to re-installing the operating system and your programs.
