I have never thought that just by replacing my old hard drive to this drive would speed up my 5 year old pc by over 100%. My boot up time went from 3 and half minutes to literally 15 seconds!

I was looking to add some pep into my PS4's step and after some research chose the Samsung Evo 860. This drive is considered the gold standard for SATA SSDs and I can see why. After a quick and easy installation, I noticed a significant decrease in loading times for my games and improved boot time as well. I timed the boot before and after and saw a 12 second decrease to 22 seconds; down from 34 seconds on the initial start up. It's still early into the drive's life but I'm quite pleased with its performance. I purchased the 500GB variant at $59.99 from the Best Buy website and would highly recommend it for anyone looking to speed up their PS4.

Installed this on my 2015 Lenovo laptop with i5 cpu 8gb ram. My boot process used to take > 10 mins. now it completes in < 20 seconds! All apps open a lot faster. Data migration is super easy with the Samsung magician software. There is No need to reinstall any software since the Samsung magician software does a low Level disk to disk copy. And yes, Samsung magician software is free on the Samsung evo product website. I am definitely buying this product again for my wife’s and kids’ laptop upgrade. My advise- before goin for a laptop replacement, consider upgrading to a Samsung EVO SSD first.

We replaced an old hard drive with this SSD Drive and it gave a new life to a 3 year old PC. The PC is so fast right now and works so well that it was a great investment.

The Samsung 860 EVO hits the current sweet spot for price/performance and Best Buy’s price was within $2 of the lowest online price I could find. In short, great SSD at a very fair price!

I use this for my customers as well as my own systems. If you're after performance that rivals their 'pro's series ssd's, there are few choices, this is one of them. In terms of reliability and longevity, samsung is up there. If you have enough money, and have the available slot, I would first recommend their 970 evo nvme ssd before this. They are only a bit more expensive but bumps the read/write performance exponentially. But if you are limited to sata, or if you just want to add an extra storage drive for supplement, this is the way to go. Also, their software is very simple yet robust enough to accomplish data migration and drive statistics/health.

Great value for the money. Flawless upgrade and so much faster than previously available hard drives. This is the way to go. My PC is happy for this upgrade.

These Samsung drives are fast and reliable. I have upgraded about a dozen Desktops and Laptop PC's with these. They bring new life to the device.

I am very satisfied with the speed of this drive. My PC boots much faster and overall performance is improved. Be sure to pick up a mounting adapter so you can install it in the hard drive bay.

Very Easy to install and pretty fast compared to my current HDD. I would recommend this to anyone who are still using a HDD for super quick response times.

The price sold me on this. Overall theirs definitely better ssds out there but for a 500gb and the speed and price this is the best one atleast for my build

I always purchase Samsung SSD's not only for performance easy use and the software and the migration tools to transfer from old HHD to clone is best in class I've seen so far would recommend for life.

Got this to upgrade an older Dell Precision M6400 workstation. File access is much faster, and the extra storage comes in handy. Upgrade was painless, Never had any issues with Samsung drives.

Bought this for an hp touchscreen laptop that had seen better days. Had win 10 professionally installed in it. Computer boots in 6 seconds. At 500 gigs good enough for us to be o.s. and storage.

This drive blew my mind for installation of windows let alone cold starts. PC sleeps instant on. Magnificent drive. I cought it on sale. It was way worth the money i spent.

I have an older ASUS laptop (originally a Win7 machine). I’ve upgraded to the max memory, tried to optimize it as much as I could, but it was still slow to boot and shut down. The last thing I could do to it was upgrade from the original optical drive (700gig) to this Samsung 860 EVO 500gig. I used AOMEI Backupper to clone the drive (slow but free software), swapped the drives and it booted perfectly. Best part? My laptop went from minutes to fully boot to maybe 15-20 seconds! The crazy thing is I did all of this from my hotel room while on vacation - so it’s a relatively easy task (depends on how easy it is to access the drives on your laptop).

Using this as my primary b0ot drive for my new windows PC buiid. Super fast boot time! Only a few seconds after boot up and Windows 10 is already loaded on my desktop! File transfers between this and my HDD I have for storing media files are quick. Love this thing! Games also load pretty quick for me (loading time for FFXIII on steam is quick. It's less than 5 seconds transitioning to a new map area (or even loading from main menu to game session) but it's more than a second, if that makes sense, lol. Overall, very happy with my purchase! Will also note, that it does not come with mounting brackets for you to install on your PC build.
