This was my first SSD swap-out and the process couldn't have been easier. We replaced my wife's 1Tb mechanical HD with the 5X faster Samsung EVO 500GB SSD and it went from being a dog to a race hound. We couldn't believe how it revitalized her laptop. The cloning process went flawlessly and now I plan to replace all of the HD's in our other computers with Samsung SSD's. We are very happy that we didn't have to replace her computer. Jeff.S

So yes sony does bottle neck SSDs but it still is a night and day performance difference. Example Madden and 2k usually stutter at certain points where as I experience no stutters especially when playing online. Also played a lot of Horizon Zero Dawn that game normally can take up to a minute and half to load on a regular HDD changed the load time to about 35 seconds. So just depends on the game but I would def recommend this drive to anyone replacing a HDD or SSD thats died

My laptop was really slowing down. Start-ups usually took 7 to 8 minutes and screen writes were painful. I had to either replace the laptop or tune it up, so I bought the Samsung 860 EVO 500G after reading a lot of reviews and looking through a bunch of specs. It's perfect for my laptop and now start-ups are somewhere around a minute and there is no lag, screen writes anymore. A real help is the software that Samsung provides to transfer your info to and manage your new drive. It was quick and flawless.

Solid SSD. They're becoming less expensive and the performance boost is surely worth it/noticeable upon installation. Great product!

I put this in my 2011 MBP and it has breathed new life into my aging MacBook Pro. My hard drive was acting up so, I bought this, removed the back of the MBP, replaced the old drive with the Samsung and put the back on. This took about 15 minutes. The machine runs so much faster now. If you have a laptop that will allow you to replace the old hard drive with a SSD, do it. It’s not that expensive and it is worth it. The caddy I bought (recommended by a BB employee) was the wrong size so, I didn’t use it and don’t really need it.

Since I first purchased my HP laptop, the speed of loading pages, or even turning on and off, left much to be desired. I checked it out with the Geek Squad early on and was told that's just the way it would be. Recently it locked up on me and one of the things suggested was to replace the harddrive with one that would be speedier. I think I paid around $70 for this one, and am I ever glad I did. I never dreamed that everything would be so much quicker. Great purchase!
