Nothing to say really; plugged it into the SATA port, BIOS recognized it right away (older i7 micro ATX), installed OS and was up and running in less than a half hour. Boots quick, no issues so far. Careful if you plan to use these with a dock or expansion slot tray, some SSDs are thinner than others and you may need a spacer (not included).

I've probably bought over 60 of these so far in my lifetime, the software Samsung Magician and Migration Assistant make it the easiest SSD to use to upgrade old laptops, it's more expensive than it's competitors but as I tell people, it's more future proof. Chances are, this product will outlive what it's installed into.

The drive performs fantastically. It truly is a successor to the 850 Evo. I purchased this drive to upgrade my laptop, and right off the bat I noticed a huge improvement. Boot to desktop was about 7 seconds. Would absolutely buy again

This is my 3rd Samsung SSD..I started with a 120g..then moved up to a 250g..my latest is the 500g SSD. These are quality drives that boot up super quick and have no lag time whatsoever. I use it mainly for my OS while having standard HDD as extended drives. Never had any issues with any of my Samsung drives..I'll probably upgrade to a 1TB once they lower in price.

My aging 2011 MacBook Pro needed a new hard drive, not because the old one failed but because it was just too slow. boot up took almost a minute. So looked around, and finally decided to go with this SSD. Happy i did. My computer boots up in 20 seconds! no issues so far, but make sure you enable TRIM on your new SSD since the iOS does not automatically enable it.

I used this particular purchase to replace an old hdd in an 8 year old sony tap 20 which was way too slow to even use. It definitely did the trick, making it fast enough to multitask several things at a time while using video as well. Definitely added a year or two to the Sony's lifespan. Also upgrading is a cinche!

I bought this SSD specifically for my ps4 pro and it improved system performance moderately. It shortened loading time and provided an unexpected in-game performance boost. It decreased graphic pop-in's during gameplay. Thoroughly satisfied and would recommend to anyone with a ps4. Get rid of that slow HDD.

I bought this for myself after filling a smaller sized drive and after a couple of months using this SSD I can say it’s a worthwhile investment especially if you can grab one on sale (which they frequently are). I have a 120GB SSD for my boot drive, a 1TB Western Digital mechanical drive and the Samsung 860 Evo is a welcome, much needed upgrade to my rig.

If you already max'ed out the RAM and would still wanted to extract more out of your existing machine, SSD upgrade would be the ultimate choice. Samsung EVO with its sooper friendly cloning software, makes the whole switch from HDD to SSD a seamless one, even for a not so geek. This would be the best bang for buck you would have spent in a very long time.

These solid state drives are great! I have purchased many of them to upgrade some older work stations in our offices. This is one of the best things you can do for an aging machine. If your laptop or PC suffers from sllllooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooowwwwww motion load times, consider installing one of these. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
