Researching similar SSD drives they are pretty close as far as quality and price. Overall the Samsung just seem to have some better ratings. If you are going to a SSD for the first time it is amazing the difference.

Replaced HDD with SSD, specifically this Samsung 860 EVO 500GB. Nice bump to boot speed, as well as general operation. Totally revived my 6 year old laptop, putting off replacement for several years, I hope!

NO! I love it. I put it in my wife's laptop and the thing runs like a dream now. Easy to use with built in software. Couldn't ask for better. Ya done did good, son. I mean.. Sung.

I mostly purchase Samsung Evo's for myself and customer PC's and have not had any issues. Speeds are great and a great replacement on older systems with mechanical hard drives.

I brought this ssd to put into my asus laptop i've had for about 5 years. It took for ever to boot up into window 10. After cloning window 10 onto the ssd. My laptop now runs like a charm. Smooth start up 35 seconds. Amazing

Very easy to slip it in to my laptop and MacBook pro and man what a speed upgrade I got moving away from The traditional hard drives. Still new at using this SSD and will update my review as and when I get more acquainted.

My son has gone through three hard drives. He is always taking his laptop everywhere with him. He says the speed of this hard drive is much faster and since there are no moving parts, we haven't had any problems with it!

Purchased this SSD to rebuild my home computer. SSD's make a world of difference as the primary hard drive. My computer loads and opens programs so much faster than a SATA does.

This bare drive is connected externally via a SATA3 to USB3 cable to a Late 2012 Mac Mini that already has a Crucial 500gb SSD. I migrated all of my iTunes library to the Samsung because it most people find the SSDs perform best at under 80% capacity. I wouldn't use the Samsung as a startup drive on the Mac from past experience, but as a data drive, that Samsung performs great. As with most SSDs, if they don't fail off the bat, they tend to work well. The Samsung has more than adequate buffer space so GarageBand runs fast, especially when mix'ing a track down. Getting the drive on sale and with a discount coupon just made it a screaming deal.

Upgraded a 2012 Macbook pro this SSD drive improved the speed of the MacBook. Putting a SSD drive improved the computer so much without the expense of a new computer.

When it comes to choosing a good SSD you can't go wrong with this one. I used to fix computer for a living and Samsung one in the top of my list of best SDD.

Samsung EVO series make an excellent choice for upgrading/migrating from HDD, for certain.Almost ANY PC,Laptop, even game consoles can be fitted and well worth it in both speed and durability...

Old SSD died without warning. Price this drive online found it on sale at Best Buy. Much faster than the old 830 Pro it replaced. Luckily I kept all of my data on a separate RAID system, so I didnt lose data.

If you want a solid and reliable SSD then this is the best you can get. Highly recommended if you need an upgrade for your Mac as other brands don't seem to work as well with Apple products.

My laptop died on me because of an accident which caused my hard drive to stop working. I replaced it with this SSD and the laptop started working again. Like I said, it did its job.
