Fast Very fast. Copied over win10 from another drive without a hitch. Runs about 51 Degrees C but says its normal in specs. Running for about a week without problems. Loads windows in about 5 seconds. Make sure tyou put some kind of heats sink on it if your motherboard doent have one. Running it in a PCIE4 next to my GPU. Saves space and power. Have it running in a ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Hero with 5950x and RTX3070 GPU. First time I've used a NVME Drive. Saves a lot of space. Would definitely buy again.

This drive was a great upgrade to my laptop since it only came with 256GB storage. My drive was only a PCIe Gen 3 so the bump wasn't only in capacity but in performance as well. It went from 3000MBs read and 1080MBs write to 6700MBs and 5400MBs respectively. It's been on sale for the longest time as well. Sure there are cheaper 1TB PCIe Gen 4 drives, but Samsung SSDs never disappoint and are simple go to brand for flash drives.

It’s fast, and I mean blazing fast. However there are very few use cases where the speed advantages translate into noticeable improvements. I bought it because I wanted to use that PCIe 4 capability I paid for, and its speed tests just destroy everything else in my build by a long shot. The only real negative I have on this is the longevity rating is quite a bit lower than other PCIe 4 M.2s on the market. I chose this because 1) it was available and 2) it’s intended as my primary drive, and I almost exclusively buy Samsung drives for that. Excellent reliability and consistency. The other thing to note is that it does run warm compared to my other drives, but that’s to be expected. I’d recommend putting this guy under a heatsink on your MoBo if possible. As far as installation, it’s as easy as any other gum stick drive.

Not my first Samsung NVME drive and definitely not my last. I have the 970 Evo+ in my laptop and it's a beast. I picked up the 980 pro for my ps5 and it runs like a champ. I bought the one without the heatsink because it was on sale, and a heatsink for it was only $15. Installed effortlessly, formatted quickly, and now I have an extra terabyte of space on my Playstation. 100% recommended.

This is the first M2 SSD I ever bought. With that said, I did my research before coming to a decision. After some time, I concluded that this one by Samsung was the right choice due to its speed, storage, reputation, and affordability. Not only that, but I bought this on sale, making it an absolute steal for what you get (seriously, don't miss out if it's on sale). Even at its original price, this SSD is certainly one of the best for what you pay. Installing and initializing were super simple (just download Samsung Magician and/or follow a youtube video), and I haven't had a single problem or concern since. Will definitely be buying this again when I need another SSD. I even recommended this to a few friends, and they too have had nothing but a positive experience. Note: these M2 SSDs do not come with the screw needed for mounting. Most motherboards have them already included on the board, so check you have one before buying.

Remember to partition your drive after install for the system to recognize it! It’s lightning fast in my pcie 4.0 M2 slot when paired with my 11700k. Boots my computer in seconds flat. My favorite part, other than the blazing fast speed, is it’s compatibility with the Samsung Magician app. Top tier SSD with incredible performance and supporting software at a really good price. Just make sure you use a heatsink for best results. It gets hot but that’s a consequence of such power, not something to complain about. My motherboard has a built in heatsink and it doesn’t get above 50° C

I upgraded a couple of my drives to the 980 pro 4th gen, the speed increase for a normal pc user is probably not noticeable. But for the price/performance of the upgrade for more enthusiastic users, there shouldn't be a question. It's by far hands down the best drive i've benchmarked so far and usage wise the temperatures of the gen 4 are obviously a tad higher vs prior generations. I'll for sure pick up some more of these due to the value and sheer speed vs sata or gen 3 pci-e

I didn't really need this item, but I was very curious about the performance of the unit. I purchased it and took it home and installed it with ease, and man oh man did this thing really race. The transfer speeds are nearly instantaneous.

I bought this for my PS5 and I added a Heatsink. After testing games and playing hours of games from the Samsung SSD. It was the same or had a little better performance as the internal PS5 SSD. It gives you the full 1TB and it read 5563 on the PS5. Games like Rachet and Spider-Man Mike’s morales performed and played similar to the PS5 SSD.
