However, some customers have reported concerns about the machine's long-term reliability and occasional balancing issues. A few users also noted the absence of an agitator as a drawback.

Sent it back

This model functions well but we took advantage of Best Buy's generous return policy and sent it back for two reasons.
First, while the sink seems like a really good idea it is poorly executed. It makes it unnecessarily hard to get to the detergent tray, significantly blocks the view of what's going on in the washer and you have to pay close attention when you load and unload the machine or else you'll hit your head on it. It's pretty obvious the manufacturer tacked this on as a special feature rather than doing it as an incorporated design. It's too bad because it really detracts from what otherwise appears to be a very well designed machine. Obviously, this feature could still be worth it for you if you don't have a laundry sink nearby. For us the benefits didn't outweigh the annoyance.
The second issue is that the washer drum really is so deep that it's just silly for a shorter person. I wish I had paid closer attention to many of the other reviews that made the same comment. And it makes it even more likely that you will regularly hit your head on the sink. I think the depth of the drum offsets any other advantage of going with a top loader, so we switched this out for a front loader.

4c error code

When I first installed the washer and I attempted to wash cloths it would give me a 4c error. Which is low water pressure or no water. I removed the attached hoses, put them in a bucket and opened the water to ensure there was sufficient water pressure. I ended up taking off the filters that are inside the threaded connection of the washers to which you attach the water connections. This solved the issue. I guess now I have to purchase a sediment filter for the whole house.

Excellent new washer

Needed a new washer and after doing thorough research, we chose to purchase this Samsung washer for it's features and large capacity. Easy to use features and really like the active wash feature to scrub clothes. There are some negative reviews out there for little stuff, but if you follow the directions, load the clothes properly and mach sure the washer is on a flat, even surface, it will do just fine.

ActiveWash sink is a pain in the butt!

I bought the Samsung WA48J7700AW washing machine because I thought the ActiveWash built-in sink was much a neat, innovative feature. Now that I have it, I know that it is actually a huge pain in the butt.
#1: When the sink is locked in the up position, it gets in the way of the pull-out drawer to put in the detergent and fabric softener. It makes it difficult to pour using the normal cap from the liquid detergent bottle. Very aggravating.
#2: Like most top-loading washing machines with high-capacity, this washer is tall and is very deep. This means you have to stick half your body into the washer to get that last sock in the back. When you do this, and you grab that last piece of clothing and bring your body out of the washer, you will most likely hit the back of your head on the ActiveWash sink, because even in the upward locked position, it sticks out pretty far. Annoying, and potentially painful.
#3: The ActiveWash sink is sort of clear, but it is made of a darker tinted plastic. When the washer is running, you would normally be able to look into the washer to see what is going on, but on this model with the ActiveWash sink, you can't see the clothes and what is happening during a cycle, because all you see is the tinted plastic of the sink. This is not too annoying, but it defeats the whole purpose of a glass topped washing machine.
I bought this washer because of the ActiveWash sink, but now I'm investigating on how to remove it. It's disappointing.

Wonderful washer that does everything we need and more, huge size can accommodate three loads worth of laundry we did with our old washer! We LOVE this washing machine!!! It is huge, extremely quiet and the clothes do not get twisted and wrinkled. It is the BEST!!! It also does not waste water and fills according to load size. This washer is great! It's spacious enough to fit tons of towels, the "aqua-jet settings" reassure you that everything has been washed thoroughly! On a side note: With this machine it's hard to reach the bottom for shorter people.

Very pleased with this purchase. I bought this along with the matching dryer and like the washer better. Holds large loads and washes well. Have not used the sink feature yet.

Great Washer and Dryer

I did the research and knew I did not want another front load washer. I am so glad that I went with Samsung. The washer is so quiet and does a wonderful job cleaning the clothes and spinning them almost dry. First time I went with a top-of-line washer and dryer. You will not be sorry if you purchase this pair.

Too new to fix

I bought this washer since I don't have a laundry room with a sink. I loved that it was soo quiet and had a big tub. A couple of days after I received it I tried to use the active wash feature. It would click but no water came out. Geek squad came out and needed to call support. They didn't know how to repair since it was soo new. I was given the option to get a new one or exchange for a different washer. I decided to get a LG top loader that had been out for a while. When that one wasn't available Best Buy gave me my money back. Great customer service. I heard Samsung front loaders are great but not in my budget. Oh well.

Solid Machine

After reading other user reviews, my wife and I settled on the Samsung washer and dryer combo. Both items were available on sale and we took advantage of using our Best Buy card as well. I haven't found a single thing I haven't liked about this unit yet. Reading the directions helps with many of the issues other reviewers have mentioned. We find convenience in the size of the washer, the Activewash feature is a huge upgrade over our previous machine and negates the need for a stand alone basin. I'm very happy with the appearance, performance, and pricing for this machine. I highly recommend it!

Less than 90 days broken already

Delivered and setup by Best Buy 8/4/15 and last night Oct 23 it stopped working no power door locked and will not power up. Call customer service Samsung they keep telling me to turn on power and I tell them it will not come back on. Tested outlet and there is power there still will not power up. So they say one to two business days someone will call about and appointment to repair. Only problem we have uniforms that will start to mildew and we have to use them Monday but door is still locked. So in short we have to stay out of work or break the door which they will not cover. Lack of customer service, breaks in less than 90 days not very confident in this product. I would recommend looking for a different washer. I understand things happen/break it is how we handle them when it does that makes the difference to me. No more Samsung products for me.

The drum is quite tall so I do have to stand on my tiptoes to reach all the clothes. However, it easily fits our queen comforter! I like the self-cleaning option and the wash basket!

DO NOT BUY!!!

This washer cannot balance itself. It is completely unable to wash a queen size blanket or mattress pad. It will refill itself and try to balance it and then when unable continue this process until you hit it with a sledge hammer. Please DO NOT PURCHASE THIS UNIT. Samsung is buying mine back. I refuse to be stuck with this awful washer.

We bought this washer solely on the built in sink for the washer board. Other than the spin not being strong enough for the inserts to come out, it is just a little step to pull them out and then wash. In retrospect, I feel spending the extra on the larger model would have been a good idea, as there are more wash options.

OK WASHER

I've owned this washer for 4 months now. In the beginning, I loved it. We went from an LG front load washer to the top load. As far as getting stains out, it does a decent job if you use the heavy duty cycle and pre-treat the stains. Sometimes I will have to run an extra spin cycle to get more water out of the bedding. I will say the washer is very large and holds a lot of clothing and bedding. I'm 5'3" and am able to reach the bottom. Now here is my biggest issue with this - my clothing and towels are beginning to fall apart and everything is fading! I didn't realize how gentle the front loaders are compared to top loaders.
If I was able to go back make a different choice, I would have definitly gone with the Samsung front loader.

I am happy with my new washer. It's really large and I love all the great technology features. You don't have to choose water setting, it knows how much close is in a the wash by weight. I would recommend this product

I bought this machine because it was made by Samsung. It does not get the clothes clean, uses much more water than my old Maytag and takes much longer to wash clothes. Even though it uses more water some items of clothing come out and there are spots that are completely dry. I find myself rewashing clothes because they don't come out clean. I don't like that it doesn't remember my last wash settings. I only wash in cold water and every time I power on I have to change my water temp. I have been washing clothes for many, many years and this is the first time I have been disappointed in a washing machine.
