It has done this while I was typing in a file, which is infuriating. When it shifts to the TV functions, it disconnects my backup hard drive, which could damage it. This "monitor" also does not allow me to control the sound using the desktop controls on my Apple computer keyboard or top ribbon, forcing me to use the remote which is inconvenient. It does not allow me to control the screen brightness at all, because it disables the controls. If this product does not allow these necessary functions because I'm not using Windows, it should have "NOT SUITABLE FOR USE WITH AN APPLE COMPUTER" in big letters on the box so nobody with a Mac accidentally buys it. I have tried Tech support twice - the first agent said that that's just the way these monitors are, so get used to using the remote and having it default to being a TV and needing to be reassigned to the USB input. The second agent tried to help but didn't know how to fix it. I am glad I saved the box and packing material so I can return it.
