This is such a great system to control my devices. I set it up and within minutes all my devices were connected to my phone. Tv's, fridge, and outlets.

The wifi was implemented ok on this set, smartthings was not. I purchased it for our new 2000 sqft town home. The wifi coverage is ok. I do not think it is a “mesh” coverage. The sattelites acted like repeaters. I have a Fios gigabit connection. The max ac wifi speed I got from the sattelites were barely 80 mbps. This set performs poorly when used in bridge mode. The worst performance was from the smartthings hub. I was migrating from a wink hub. Once I moved everything, all of a sudden ST hub would disconnect in the middle of the day. Samsung support advised me to use only “router” mode, not bridge mode. I did not quite want to give up my trusted wired router yet ! Samsung has a new iOS app for this router. The app barely scratches the surface of the ST platform. If you use the ST app with this router, the app will crash when you hit the “more” option. Integrating the wifi platform with the ST was a great idea, but the implementation on this set was poor at best. Now I am planning to get a separate ST hub and a good mesh wifi set.

This Mesh network works amazing. Easy set up and no issues. Best feature is that the smart things hub is built right in. Flawless.

Most reviews were middle of the road but I have really enjoyed this mesh system. Super easy to connect, reliable, and we priced cheap since they are being clearanced out. I needed to extend my network for my 3600 sq/ft house and this does it well. I added a 4th mesh to get everywhere but my house is an odd shape.

Almost Ready

I was very excited to try the new Samsung Connect Home mesh Wi-Fi system. Unfortunately, it isn't quite ready for prime time just yet.
Setup, as usual with mesh systems, is by app only. It works fine; but this means you have only basic controls. For instance, I couldn't find a way to disable the SSID broadcast.
The remote units connect to the network fairly easily and give you strong throughput and significantly enhanced range for peak speeds.
Another miss with the Samsung is that speeds cap out below 1Gb. That's good enough for 99% of residential speeds at this point, but the advent of gigabit internet is moving fairly quickly. I expect the second generation Samsung to be faster.
The minimalistic design is attractive, but comes at the expense of ports. Even the base unit has only one outgoing Ethernet port.
Oddly, despite the smart home integration, some basic devices I have couldn't connect with the Wi-Fi. My Roku 3 never managed to connect, and one of my Nest thermostats couldn't connect. That particular Nest unit also had a problem with another mesh system.
As as result of not being able to get my basic devices to work, I didn't experiment much with smart things.
I think this system has some excellent potential, but it didn't seem quite ready. I presume it'll get updates quickly, since Samsung seems to really care about addressing issues. I could easily see this being a 4-star system. But, as tested, it is a 3-star review, and I can't quite recommend it.

I have att uverse and have tried multiple devices trying to resolve slow speeds in my house. The modem is in the front living room which could not reach to the back of the house. I tried this as a last resort and was instantly pleased. There is a wireless and wired option. My son connects his xbox with a usb directly into the port. I also use a USB to connect my iMac directly to the port in my room. This is just like connecting directly to the modem. I'm not tech savvy at all and can barely explain how this works. It was super easy to setup. If I can set it up anyone can.

Just started working from home. Needed a way to make sure work came first. This allows me to set my laptop as the #1 priority for for the signal. Also allows a guest WiFi. Haven’t had any issues at all.

I initially bought this to improve the Internet connectivity in the upstairs bedrooms, but I have expanded it to include a motion light outside and a light on a timer inside. The available components to this system are great!

So I feel like the best features of this router is incorporating the Internet of Things that Samsung offers. It's nice being able to control everything from one convenient app that allows everything from scheduling of stuff to allowing you to run it right there. As a router it performs well. Not on par with the complete mesh network but definitely on par with other routers within its price range and is definitely a fair recommend. It's just not "spectacular" in any particular way. It is also worth mentioning that the app to set it up does not currently support Android 8.0 so at the time of this writing if you have a Google Pixel running the beta then you'll need to revert it in order to setup or use a different device. I used an LG G5 to do so. The app is pretty straightforward and has definitely received some polish since I set up the vacuum. It is definitely getting the support it deserves. Wireless range is pretty good. Two rooms away I was still getting acceptable bandwidth though it definitely fell off quite a bit. If you need to get coverage for many rooms this may not be the choice for you and I'd consider a mesh network at that point, or even additional hubs for it. Overall pretty good job for a first swing Samsung at a router.

I haven’t been able to use it yet. I had trouble, called Samsung support, but still couldn’t get it to work correctly. I’m hopeful that I’ll get it up and running one of these days.

I always had the wifi connectivity issue in corner room , thanks to this little device , now I have connectivity even in my kitchen and every part of house. This is extremely useful if the house is big.
Thanks to BestBuy..Got this as a free gift with my Samsung galaxy S8 .. truely recommended to all if you are looking to boost the wifi network to broader range .
