Have a larger home and was using signal boosters and kept dropping connections. This system covers the main lvl, basement and upstairs with full bars. Enough bandwidth for entire family. Price is reasonable considering the frustrations it solved.

Great WiFi range, versatile, not a LAN extender

I have noticed over the past few months with the addition of new devices in my home that my network was not covering well. Based on my current router location I was getting little to no coverage in parts of my house and back deck. If you are looking to extend your WiFi reach like me this product works well. I now have good to excellent coverage across my home and into areas of my yard. It is still can be password protected like you typical home network so there is not need to worry about outsiders accessing it any more than normal. The system includes a base unit and 2 additional units (they appear to be identical), one network cable and power cords for all three. The units are fairly small so they can fit relatively anywhere you have an outlet. Each hub has the following on the back, power plug, network in, network out. I had to wait a while to do my initial install/setup because I needed additional outlets at my main router location (I was already overwhelmed from laptops, printers, and the router). This is a supplementary system so you will need a modem from your cable provider or somewhere in addition. This will not take the place of your Fios modem/router. The setup is pretty easy. Install the Samsung App on your mobile device to help complete the setup process. Then plug the base unit into your modem/router, plug in the power and follow the book/app directions. I had no issues connecting. This base unit will need to remain plugged into your router and power, and can be used an an additional network outlet (for the one you just used up) Next you can connect the additional hubs and any smart devices you already have (I only used this for the WiFi mesh features, I currently have no smart devices I plan to connect and control like lights, etc.) The additional hubs are also easy to setup. You simply plug them in for power at other points in your home where you would like to extend your WiFi reach and follow the App directions to start the connection. As a tip, your base unit and hubs will only reach as far as your router already reaches, so if you are having a low signal near the back of your home, place the additional hubs half way or somewhere between (not all the way where the dead spot is). As I said the additional WiFi coverage was great in my home, even to the previous dead corner opposite my router. This does setup an additional WiFi signal though with it's own name/password, so you will need to switch your devices over to it or they will still be working off your old router and not getting the benefit of the increased range. One feature I think this is missing is the ability to setup a guest account like other routers I have used before. There is only 1 signal/account on this system. Also, I had planned to relocate my Arlo security camera hub to a more central location and use one of the additional hubs. The network out connection only works on the base unit plugged into your router. I attempted to plug the camera hub into the additional samsung hub and it did not work. If I add any smart devices to my system I will update with my findings

First impression is overall good. The setup was a bit cumbersome, and the signal strength was a bit less than expected (but ill blame that on the structure of my house). All things considered, this was a great buy

Love how it integrates to Samsung Hub, but the wifi is a bit sporatic. When it works (which is 95% of the time) it works well. The hub is great to turn your home into a smart home.

Great inexpensive solution to replace aging wifi in the house. Much better speeds on all devices and no longer dropping connection.

Was using a wifi extender and realize it wasn't working as well. Since this was on sale and for 100 dollars, might as well give it a try. It was set up in a 1 floor house that's about 3000 sq feet. The only issue is that the walls are made out of concrete or something that gives my normal wifi/router difficulty in transmitting signals. Once I installed this device, it made our connection a lot better. download speed was a lot faster and noticeable. I am happy with the purchase especially for the price.

The setup was a bit cumbersome, and the units have to be places close together than I had guessed. But, other than that the system had been easy to use and had great signal coverage.

We have this at our lake house and I was intrigued by having the smart home functionality as part of the product along with the mesh network. This mesh network is far more unstable than my google network at the regular house, often times going down / losing one of the units. The app has improved over time, but still isn't nearly as easy to use as the Google. If you already have a Samsung Smart Home it might be worthwhile, otherwise look to another competitive product.

Not sure about this item. Too new for an evaluation. Had hoped it would allow me INET/wi-fy access outside in my pavilion..NOT! Otherwise no problems.

The Samsung Connect 3-Pack is a great way to create a smart home with compatible products. The only catch is that the system will now work with many of the existing products on the market. The ones it works with is a narrow list, so make sure to read it on the Smartthings website to see what will work. For me, I have a Samsung washer and dryer, 4K TV, and an Amazon Echo. All of these products work will through the three smart hubs installed in my home. Set up is simple, once you download the app and establish what wifi signal you want to use. Me, I was using Comcast which has a signal big enough to fill a small apartment and has somewhat limited coverage in my home. I say apartment, because I used to live in an apartment at the signal was not strong in that apartment. It is obviously worse in the home I live in, even with a somewhat open floor plan. What I noticed right away after install was that the signal upstairs (2 floors in my residence) is the same as it is downstairs. This was huge. I placed one hub downstairs off the living room, and one in the opposite corner of the home to link the washer and dryer. The Echo in the kitchen feeds off the hub in the living room. The third hub is in the upstairs loft, which is pretty much centered between all the bedrooms. The connection is solid and reliable. I was really impressed. My only problem with the system is the fact I cannot connect my security system to it. Samsung has options for alarm systems, but nothing that has home monitoring. You just get a text on your phone and that is it. I might use those to trigger little things like doors the kids should not be in, like the gun safe. I have a Simplisafe alarm, and I wish the could link to it since it is a wifi/cellular based system. I also want to add a wifi linked door lock and the ones that work with this system are limited to two options I believe. There is only one option for the thermostat, and Nest is not one of them. I imaging there will be more options with time, but in the meantime I am limited to what Samsung deems worth to be part of their networks. The list is not too bad, but I wish there were more options (hence the four stars). I just got a Garmin watch, so I want to see how that works if it does at all. All that said, I would still recommend it for its reliability and entire home coverage. That is impressive.
