The Samsung Connect home is one of several mesh network kits I've set up and used, and there are some similarities and some differences. One thing that is the same for me as all of the others (Google, Linksys, Netgear, Amped, Eero) - the setup is not without glitches and headaches. You need the app on your phone first; then you plug in and configure the first unit; then you get frustrated when the app doesn't see additional units until after a couple tries; then you try to connect to the nearest unit with or without success. They all have worked eventually, including this one, but setup can seem cryptic. Once this was complete, I was pretty happy with the performance.
Another similarity is the sparseness of configurable settings - meaning, it is another out-of-the-box kit for those who don't want or need to mess around in the guts.
The major (and obvious) difference with this Samsung kit is the integrated Smart Things hub. If you're starting home automation from scratch - like me - this is a better choice..
I've read around the internets that software updates will improve performance and perhaps features. That is par for the course in a new release like this, and I'm anxious to see how that improves this product.
Pros - the mesh network works. I mean, I don't look for performance over and above what my ISP gives me. I look for holes in connectivity and this doesn't appear to have any (once set up properly)
- within the app, it can control connected appliances without having an extra piece of hardware
- it looks good and is unobtrusive
Cons - cryptic setup (frustrating)
- not special. If it were cheaper it would rate better
I would recommend this with caveats

Great Wifi System for Larger Homes

I've been using a mesh wifi system by another manufacturer and was interested to see how the Samsung Connect Home would stack up. I partly decided to update systems since the Samsung units are very sleek and modern looking and lower profile than the existing system.
Setup was pretty straight forward, swapping out the old system for the new Samsung and using the same naming convention. I downloaded the Connect App onto my iPhone and went through the setup process. It's easy to follow and the average home user will be up and running in no time. Not a lot of features to get bogged down with, so I guess it's good and bad.
First impressions are that it seems to run pretty quickly and definitely covers all 3,000+ SQFT of my home. Have not had any issues with devices dropping or slowing of the system when really banging on it with multiple devices. Good stuff!
I was not able to put it through its paces as a whole home control center as a majority of my appliances, etc. are not connected devices. Hopefully I'll be able to add some IoT devices soon and see how it works.
In conclusion, the system is designed well, very modern and sleek looking and was easy to setup and run. The feature set on the Connect App is adequate for the average user and the speed and support of multiple devices will be a key benefit to most users. If you're looking for a mesh wifi system to support a large home and connect smart devices, the Samsung Connect Home system is hard to beat.

Disappointed

The product is markedly smaller than others like it. The three puck AP's are about the size of a small burger bun, and they are easy to hide. I really like the form factor. Set up is super easy--there is a quick setup card the instruction to plug in a couple cables and get the app. The app walks you through everything from that point on. So far, so good. So why only three stars? The app is frustrating at best for an iPhone user. It is beyond buggy and locks up frequently. The other downfall is the limited number of products compatible with the app. I do not have a Samsung household, and this product claims to control many other brands. It controlled one lightbulb. no vacuum, no security system, no door locks, no irrigation system, no thermostat. I was sorely disappointed. Simply put, the wifi signal is inferior to my original AP's and the smart hub is pretty worthless unless you have a Galaxy phone and Samsung smart devices and appliances. I have no doubt that under those conditions it's wonderful!

Samsung has ventured into the home Wifi connection arena in an innovative and impressive way. The Connect Home does a great job of connecting to my home devices. The setup of this unit was user friendly and easy to connect. The app, “Samsung Smart Home” is available in the Google play store; however, I will note, it is buggy. While, I don’t have a “smart” home all the way it still does well in providing a strong Wifi connection throughout my home without any major hiccups which is the true goal of Wifi routers.
What sets this application apart is the fact that 3rd party applications work and connect well with this unit which is very much future proof. If by chance, you don’t have a smart home as I stated above it still serves as a strong Wifi connector for larger homes.

Quick and easy set up was my favorite part about this system. Install the app, plug it in and that's about it. Oh and you have to set up a name for your Wi-Fi (have fun with this) and a password. This is a simple system that makes life easy for the technically challenged individuals. The range coverage is great. It bounces around my brick wall with ease. Speeds seem okay but not the fastest out there these days. Buy for simplicity, ease of set up and integration to other smarthome products you can't go wrong. I would take a half of star of for the style of these, plain and simple if you like that. They need to start making these with some flair so you can set it out on a shelf or something. Oh forgot to mention the cables are fantastic, Apple like quality. I do love that companies are starting to make better quality accessories.

Samsung connect is a great buy if you plan on making your home a smart home. This system is easy to connect. I would recommend this for a 3+ bedroom home and probably two stories to get the best use of having 3 hubs. With all the tech that is new almost all are Wi-Fi ready, having the Samsung connect to help you connect to all your devices is a must to not have your Wi-Fi slow and if you have a larger home the areas that Wi-Fi isnt as strong. I definitely recommend having a whole home Wi-Fi system if you have a larger home and plan on having a smart home. The app works fine. I have connected it to my Google home and Amazon echo works great. I haven't had any connection issues since connecting it to my home, I have noticed outside my house in the yard my phone still gets a strong Wi-Fi connection as before is was off sometimes depending on how close I was to my home.

The Samsung Connect Home takes a stab at offering a wireless mesh that supports your smart home gadgets. The thought of this makes the techie in me jump for joy, but execution is key.
The packaging for the Connect Home system is very 2017 - minimalist with a clean, elegant look. You wouldn't think there were 3 APs with power cables in there. Great packaging job. Once opened, the nodes come off as clean and elegant. You can place them in public view without harming the aesthetics of the room. The wiring is thin and sleek. Samsung did a great job in the design department - they seem to be good at that right now.
Once connected and plugged in, the Connect Home has to be configured using the Samsung Connect app found in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store... Well, I have a Windows Phone, of all things, so I can't get the app necessary to configure the device! This, in my opinion, is one of the weaknesses of most of these products. If you want mobile support, create a mobile web page that can be opened when you connect to the router. Good thing I have an Android from work. I used installed the app, and set up the first node, with a small hiccup - lost connection once. The other nodes were also pretty easy to setup, making the initial setup process tolerable.
The wifi performance from the Connect Home system is just average, and I mean average router, average. It has decent throughput when devices are closer to nodes, but it deteriorates quickly with distance and barriers. It's almost as if the nodes are needed for the standard sized family home. Another issue, which is one I have with most mesh systems, is that it can't meet my networking needs without purchasing a switch of some sort. What about all my wired devices? I like gaming systems, NAS, POE cameras connected, but there is only a single out port on each node. Thought: at least give us a 4-port on a single node, heck, maybe all of them. The single out port could deter the advanced user, which is the guy who is likely to spend the $400 for the technology. Speaking of those advanced users, the networking tools could use some work as well. They are sufficient for the average user, but advanced, they are not.
So, why did I give this device a good rating? Well, it's average wifi with awesome smart home abilities. SmartThings is built into this thing, and with the addition of Z-Wave Plus, along with ZigBee and full wifi integration, this thing serves as a smart-home beast. I think this was the smartest move made for this mesh system. It makes this one of the most robust smart home systems on the market. The nodes provide fantastic coverage and response, and there is direct communication with networked devices, rather than having a separate connection. SmartThings even has a Windows Phone app - lol.
Overall, this is a great device for someone with average wireless networking needs and wants smart home integration. It could have been THE go to device for the tech enthusiast as well with some minor additions/changes and a little bit more powerful wifi experience.

I was very sadend with the results of this product I am a huge Samsung fan and was very excited when this product was released it works great as a hub which you can buy on sale for $50 but the internet and Wi-Fi connectivity was very poor and had multiple issues connecting WeMo devices and as well as other devices I could not get to connect to the Wi-Fi itself I would not spend my money right now on this product in hopes for future development.

First – this was the fastest (under 10 minutes) and easiest mesh setup I have experienced to date. I downloaded the Connect app and followed the easy to understand instructions.
Second - The Samsung Connect Home 3-Pack Mesh Wi-Fi System is designed to be the hub of your smart home. It combines a Wi-Fi router for data and a SmartThings hub Wi-Fi for data, and Bluetooth 4.1, Zigbee and Z-Wave for wireless control of your compatible home automation devices. all in one. This allows you to manage your Wi-Fi and all your smart devices from the Samsung Connect app. A smart router – Connect Home’s smart home hub functionality allows you to connect compatible thermostats, cameras, lights, voice assistants, and more to control your home from your phone, tablet or voice (think Alexa) Plus it updates automatically. It covers up to 4,500 sq ft. Very impressive.

The packaging was easy to open, the setup was clear and took about 10-15 minutes. These provide coverage throughout our house and into the driveway, yard, and the garage. We had used a similar system from Linksys, and this works as well if not better. I'd say if you have dead spots in your house or want to extend a strong signal to your patio, deck, or other external area, this is a very nice option.

Great WiFi System with a Bonus Smart Hub

Recently purchased Samsung Connect Home system to replace a Netgear AC1200 router that I was very unhappy with. Setup was a breeze. From opening the box to complete setup of the hub and two satellites in about 15 minutes. I now have our full internet speed throughout the house and guest house, whereas the previous router suffered significant dropoff. As an added bonus, the three small white Samsung units look much better than the big old router with those ridiculous antennae.
I was originally going to go with either the Google WiFi system or TP-link. Purchased the Samsung Connect Home on a whim after seeing it had the integrated SmartThings hub. Also figured I couldn't go wrong with the Samsung brand, as they've stood behind other products I've purchased in the past. I can't speak to the performance of the smart home hub, as I don't yet have any smart devices to connect, but I like that I now have that capability without having to add another box. I highly recommend this product to replace your unsightly and underperforming router, especially if you're experiencing speed dropoff at the far reaches of your home.

I was pleased with how easy it was to setup this WiFi system. After downloading the app onto my smartphone, it walked me through each step. The directions were very precise and clear. I was able to connect all 3 hubs with no issues. It required an update towards the end of the setup process, which took a few extra minutes. I was able to get much faster and consistent speeds with this router, in comparison to my previous setup. The Samsung Connect feature is a plus for connecting other smart home devices to your setup.

Just to get the negativity out of the just want to say the app on Apple products does not work when setting up the system. It comes up with a network error. I imagine this will be fixed pretty quick by Samsung and is just a gremlin in the app.
Looks great! Low profile and only a small green light which makes this hide amongst anything else you have on display. One wire on the two hubs and yours done.
Simple setup when using an Android device. Connected in no time and updated each node in minutes.
The range is great providing excellent coverage throughout my home.
The smart hub is an excellent idea and with it I can control my lights and my thermostat. Also my TV. It's fantastic and I really do highly recommend this over other mesh systems
