So I know there are many other alternatives to get the DeX experience but the one from Samsung is more polished and gives you extra ports. The only caveat is that it only outputs up to 1440p in DeX mode. If you want 4K you have to do the screen mirroring feature which is not what I wanted it for primarily.

Caring the extra cords is the only thing a bit annoying, but the unit works great. Quick start up and runs quickly. It's not a desktop but for light duty like spreadsheets or word processing, or just playing a movie on a bigger screen, it works well.

The Samsung Dex is a very interesting idea and a future I can't wait for. It works consistently and performance is pretty solid. If you had simple computing needs, you could probably make and your phone your only "computer." I think Samsung should just make this capability baked into their other docks.

Bought this for my S9 and it works great. Turns my phone into a chrome book. Got a small Bluetooth keyboard/touchpad combo and took it on trip. Plugged into the hotel tv and works perfectly. Left my laptop at home. No issues and no complaints.

This station makes needing to carry a laptop unnecessary. Multiple windows open is easy. There is an option to get service to have virtual windows desktop but that is not necessary for what I use it for. I have all the Microsoft office products and the 365 subscription which is exactly what I need.

Bought the Samsung DeX as a quick way to watch my phones display on a much larger screen but it turned out to be much more than I expected. The Dex is an amazing product to use when your working in a office and your working on your laptop or desktop and want to follow or work on item on your phone on the same time. My productivity has improved as I am able to text, call, and send emails from my phone while working with my laptop using ti separate keyboards...lifesaver...

I had the original DeX and I wanted to check if this was a good upgrade. Ended up being happy and carry this with me wherever I go instead of bringing laptop. Easy to set up and definitely a must have accessory if you have a Galaxy S9 or S9 plus.

The device works as it should as far as charging, keeping your phone cool and connecting to a bigger display be it a TV or computer monitor. When you enter DeX mode is where things start to fall apart. It's a good idea to try and turn an Android phone into a computer like experience, but a lot of the apps aren't optimized to work properly in DeX mode. Maybe future updates will bring this idea to life. Right now, it's just too unstable.

Turn my smartphone into a laptop computer? Great idea and it works very well when I'm out of town. It gives you all the essentials to stay connected. Just plug the dock into the tv in the hotel room and bring your mouse and travel keyboard.

Free dex pad is super easy to use. As soon as I plugged my note 8 in, Samsung Dex booted up and provided a computer like interface. Connected a bluetooth keyboard and mouse to it and the hdmi cord going to a TV and I was all set.

If you are a Samsung user and haven't tried Dex, it's amazing. This dock Acts as a mouse while connected but I ultimately exchanged it for the standing mount dock version for the application I was using it for

This is a breakout for 2x usb and HDMI, so you can actually use your phone with a keyboard and mouse. It has a windows-esque desktop that shows, and a lot of apps are compatible with it's fullscreen mode. It's awesome.

Bought this for my Note 9. I do presentation using PowerPoint through Dex and although the Note 9 does not need to be powered it is nice to have the phone charging while giving presentations. This dock works perfectly for that. The only complaint I have and why I did not give it 5 stars is that you cannot use any case on your phone. The USB C connection does not stick out far enough. I had to buy the Samsung case in order to use the dock with a case. I would buy it again.

If you have a need to see your phone on a bigger screen than this device is what you need (assuming its compatible). Great tool for travel. Added benefit that it acts as a fast charger with a cooling fan as well.

This gadget is pretty awesome! I've had it for a while and never really had an issue. I like to take it with me when I travel that way I can use it with TV at the hotel.

The Samsung Dex Pad Dock works well for what it is. Great for surfing the net with a larger monitor, corresponding via email and text utilizing a full keyboard, and file management w/all the above.

Overall excellent, you can make your phone a computer. The only disappointing thing was the charger does not support fast charge on the Dex when it is connected on its own.

Super easy to use after docking my phone. Its nice to use a keyboard and mouse and have a desktop view too. Really dint need a computer. I can just use my phone.
