Samsung equivalent of the MacBook Air. So far it’s great

Great portable laptop with built in 5G. I have found the service to be just as fast as my phone.

The Samsung Galaxy Book S has delivered in every way so far. It is incredibly thin and light, coming in at just under two pounds. After charging as directed after unboxing, I did need to update some software and firmware, including the keyboard and Windows 10 (Home edition), which was no big deal and went seamlessly. The fingerprint sensor is very convenient and makes logging on quick and effortless. The display is crisp and bright, which is exactly what I would expect from Samsung. Loading pages and/or programs is fast, I don't think I have waited more than one or two seconds tops. Moreover, the AKG and Dolby Atmos speakers are nothing short of impressive, I was definitely not expecting such full and rich sound. Movies and videos sounded amazing and not muddled at full volume. Perhaps one of the most important things for me is battery life, and the Book S does not disappoint! I have not had to charge it once in the five days I had it. If I had to point out anything that I was not as happy about would be the keyboard backlighting, it is not very bright at all at the highest level. Other than that, I have absolutely no complaints and will gladly recommend the Book S to friends and family without hesitation.

I am very pleased with Samsung's Galaxy Book S laptop. First of all, the laptop's battery life is impressive. I use my laptop a lot for work - from Zoom meetings to writing endless documents and I didn't need to worry about changing the computer. Even with heavy use, this laptop can go a couple of days between charging which is quite impressive. Many laptops on the market can be quite heavy. Not this laptop. It's thin and light. It is incredibly portable. Due to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx processor, it is an ARM-based processor that is the same type that's used inside smartphones and tablets. This gives Samsung the capability to shrink the overall size (no use of fans!) The laptop is roughly 2 pounds so, at times, I even forgot my laptop was inside my purse. The touchscreen display was incredibly helpful. The display is 13.3 inch touchscreen and the display was a standard (1920×1080). Watching videos was a breeze. The display actually looks very crisp. As far as sound is concerned, it was very powerful. I was amazed especially since the laptop is very thin, I was surprised on the booming sound that came from the laptop. The web cam is 720 HD (above the display) and was very helpful during those many Zoom meetings. The keyboard is sort of shallow and it requires very little pressure to activate. The keys jump right back up immediately. I type a lot and I find that many keyboards can be very loud. Not this laptop. Overall, I really like this laptop. Apps work very well and amazingly fast. This laptop is certainly best for anyone on the move! My only con is that the charger can be quite flimsy. However, if you own one of the later Samsung Galaxy phones (I have the Samsung Galaxy S9), you can also use your charger to charge this laptop, which is pretty cool. This is an incredible device for the right person. I tried the surface Pro X and switched to the Surface Pro 7 and this has the same disadvantages of the Pro X so it isn't for everyone. I won this guy and have fallen in love with it as my go to device. My Pro now only comes out when I need a 'really real' computer. Give this a few years and I think that more manufactures will start making their stuff compatible with ARM but until then I found out exactly how many of my simple programs no longer have a 32 bit version and can't be emulated on the ARM platform. And I haven't found a usable video editing software on ARM which I would dearly love. The other reason I'll pull out my Pro instead of this is if I need a pen, which isn't super often a I'm not an artist but I refuse to buy a device that doesn't support a pen at this point (including phones) as they are extremely useful when you need them (at least to me). So in my mind those are the two down falls of this device, the processor and the pen, if those are two key features then this isn't the device for you... Now to why this has turned into my go to device. This thing is amazingly quick to turn on. Tablets are nice but when your writing an email or wanting to do any typing when not at a table, you can't beat a laptop (why I use a brydge keyboard with my Pro) . The speakers, camera and microphone make this a really usable device for some quick conferencing if needed, the your phone app is really useful at least for me to be able to connect my phone to my computer. It has full office suite unlike a chromebook which is missing a few features. And with the new Edge you can turn any website into an 'App' which works surprisingly well and I fell like is a underutilized feature in Windows 10 now. Basically it is a more capable chromebook. When I got this I was worried about the power button placement but I haven't hit it on accident once so far and the fingerprint reader is so much nicer than the face recognition in my opinion. The screen is nice and bright this thing works well for movies, is it the best speakers, no, are they the best speakers I've had on a device this thin and light absolutely and I am really happy with them. The keyboard is shallow for typing but still really nice. And the weight... I mean this thing feels like it doesn't exist, how is this so powerful and so light? seriously, it's crazy. Then the probably my favorite feature of all time, the LTE modem in it. It is so nice just to be able to pull this out where ever, at the little park down the road from my house, while waiting in the car somewhere (and that's about it during this crazy time but in the future coffee shops and stuff) and not have to worry about setting up a hotspot or finding WiFi. I bought the sprint version but it has all the bands for Tmobile and works great, no un locking or anything like that. Overall if you are looking for a laptop that can go and you don't need require anything too special, this is an amazing option. And a bonus is this buy actually has the smartthings app on Windows if you have smartthings which is really nice but not too many people have that so that is more of a bonus. The Galaxy Book S is Samsung's most impressive laptop. The Galaxy Book S is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8cx chip. This is a chip manufactured on a 7nm process. we got this for my husband to use for school work. He's been using every day for school and loves it. It runs really fast and he loves the ability to seamlessly transition between the TouchPad and touch screen. The screen responds like a tablet but it still functions like a laptop. The battery has been lasting about a week with several hours of use a day. The processer allows web pages to load quickly and handle all the research quickly. It's light enough to be carried around and used anywhere but still feels sturdy. Crystal clear screen makes videos vibrant and they sound great too.

This little laptop has a lot of pro's and con's I think that Samsung is on the right path. lets take a look at it. Its slim and light weight, the battery life is fairly good, although I couldn't get 25 hours of video playback it was still stellar. The screen is bright and vivid, video jump off the screen. the 8 core arm process was ok, it felt ok for most web browsing and light ms office tasks. beyond that I think that you want an intel processor. I love that it has usb c ports for charging!! The touch pad worked but was a little sensitive right out of the box. some of the con's the keyboard has shallow key strokes which is to be expected with something so thin. I would have liked this laptop to be carrier unlocked and not Verizon specific. A Tmobile sim did work in this but there are no apps for Tmobile available for it. the laptop is sleek and smooth which makes holding it a little difficult at times. I wouldn't mind a texture of surface that has a little more grip on it. Thoughts, I think that this is a great little tablet/laptop. I would do away with the touch screen, include a sleeve/case and a usb c hub and lower the price 200. I really do like this as a secondary device to compliment my desktop. with the above thoughts I would highly recommend this device. I have been using it daily for work and a bluetooth mouse has really increased the usability of it.

The Samsung Galaxy Book S is an amazing machine. I knew that it was very lightweight but I was still surprised after opening the box and feeling how light it was. It arrived partially charged, After fully charging the battery, I got to work setting it up. It started up fast. Since I was planning to use it as a replacement for a heavier laptop I use, I installed applications, my Creative Suite, and found that after a small tweak to the OS Paging, all of the programs performed very well. I found that I could use every application that I have installed with very minimal lag times or delays. It was more than efficient enough for me to carry and use on a daily basis. I also used it for several video calls meeting (four of the major players).. The clarity of the camera was brilliant, the applications themselves performed seamlessly. For downtime, I also installed my favorite movie app to be able to watch a digital content on the computer. The sound volume was more than adequate, the video was clear and crisp, and I enjoyed watching the programs. The fingerprint reader make starting up and logging on a snap. I also like that the USB-C port can be used for both charging, connecting external devices and for my flash drive. This makes it much easier to charge on the fly if you are away from conventional resources. Finally through all of this was impressive battery life. I charge the computer fully the 1st time I got ready to use that, and even with the video applications and office programs, it lasted all day. Over all it's a slim and sleek notebook that I think I'm going to get a lot out of as a replacement for my previous laptop. This is so thin and light. It's so easy to bring anywhere. 8gb of ram and the 256gb of storage with expandable memory. This has completely replaced my old laptop. LTE makes it great while I am working on the go and wifi isnt avaliable. The touch screen makes it super user friendly. I would definitely recommend this

The Galaxy Book S is by far the best laptop i have ever owned (and im a heavy mobile / desktop user). From unpack-aging the Book S is EXTREMELY light and THIN, but still feels SOLID, it is very wel constructed! The initial power on and setup was like any other win10 device. Once setup I downloaded and installed all my normally used programs. Unlocking this device with the finger print scanner is BLAZING fast, all my apps load and run flawlessly. The touch screen is responsiveness and accurate, along with the touch pad (and I'm generally not a touch pad fan!) The screen is crisp and clear. love that the keyboard illuminates! only issue i have is the laptop is so thin its a little awkward to open.. but i can live with it. The book S is and amazing piece of hardware and would highly recommend it over anything else out there!

The Galaxy Book S is a slim and ultra lightweight device with an outstanding battery life due to its use of a Qualcomm processor. This processor allows for a fan less light weight devices that can last all day on a n and charge. The full screen LCD , full keyboard and clam shell design make this device easy to carry and travels well. The addition of a touch screen and headphone jack is convenient for entertainment and web browsing social media. This is a great multi functional laptop ready to handle most everyday tasks. Because this review is an ARM based platform, there is a potential that some older applications might not run. I have found minimal issues with drivers and have an excited to report most applications especially web based run without any issue at all. Great product

I recieved a discount in exchange for This review.This laptop ticks all of the boxes for me and my family. The response time on this laptop is better than any laptop I've ever owned. When it starts up it immediately lets you log in there's no wait time, download speeds are super fast and when playing a game there 0 lag time. The keypad has an amazing response and it feels so natural that I find myself working faster on this keyboard then the one I use at work. The body of the laptop is so thin yet so sturdy that I have no qualms would taking it on the train with me or letting my child take it with him for projects with his friends. The touch screen technology has been a life saver for my very small two-year-old because he doesn't understand how to use a keyboard but can quickly respond with his finger to any games hes playing on it. A gives you the ease of a tablet but it's a workhorse like a laptop. We've really put this laptop through the ringer not only using it for work but also using it for video games, streaming Netflix and hulu as well as letting my children use it for ABC mouse. It still looks brand new even though four different people are using it for 4 different things. The speaker is so impressive my coworker actually asked if I was streaming to a Bluetooth speaker because of how much sound in the Room . I mean this laptop is really the best one on the market, Samsung really hit it out of the park with this not only entertainment wise but with its processors. The wild card that I enjoy the most about these Samsung products is the fact that they all work with each other. I also own the refrigerator and Samsung TV and all of these devices work with each other allowing you to stream content from one screen to the next. This really allows you to have a complete integrated system in your home that everybody in your household will enjoy.

The Samsung Book S exceeded my expectations,! I love this laptop! Upon opening the box and starting it up, it booted up fast. The first thing it had me do was activate the fingerprint log on portion. That was easy. Once I got in the laptop required a firmware update, had to update windows and had to install new version of Microsoft Edge as it came preinstalled with old version. I did get an error code 3 times that windows failed to activate but after all the updates it was fine. They Charging cable is a usbc to usbc cable and has 2 ports. It also has a sim card and expandable storage. The glass touchscreen is very responsive and the mouse pad is very smooth. The keyboard has no flex to it, it types very nice. I did watch some movies on here and the sound quality is very impressive! The only thing I see as in issue with this laptop is if you do work outside a lot the screen has a huge glare to it.
