This was a fantastic purchase for me. I've been wanting one for some time and was excited to get it. It looks stylish, lightweight, and it was very easy to configure. The Gear Market is a drawback as they have a limited selection of apps that can be downloaded, but there are a few nice selections worthy of a download. I get up to at least 2 days on a single battery charge, which is more than the reviews I've seen were reporting - so I'll take it. The camera is very clear and uploads pictures smoothly to my S3. I was able to work around the limited selection of ringtones and alerts by side-loading a couple without rooting the device. They make me enjoy receiving calls even more than before. Calls are very clear and callers are hardly aware that they are on speakerphone - which is a bonus. All in all, a great purchase.

Overall, the Samsung device exceeded my expectations for a SmartWatch. It is designed for the Samsung user like it was a missing puzzle piece. While simple and elegant it keeps the class of a watch but also optimizing smart phone stinks like notifications phone calls, pictures, etc.battery life and price, however, keep it from getting a5 star rating. it does come with Android which is modifiable which is a plus in my book for developers. Overall, I love it.

I've read all the reviews of this product that suggest the battery life is poor, but this simply is not true. In fact, I easily get 3 days of use by turning off the motion feature. This feature is the main culprit that drains your battery. The features I like the most are the convenience of getting your notification in a timely manner, the pedometer measuring your steps or use Map My Run for tracking your running/bicycling, and finally, the media control feature. I could go on and on, but simply put, I love it!

This is good value and a very good smart watch. I am sure Samsung will keep making improvement on the design. I enjoy the various functions available, but do wish it had more apps available. I've used the watch for several weeks now and like it more every day.

The gear is fun to use and has some pretty cool features. I like that you can take pictures and it sends straight to the phone. It really needs a lot more apps but its new. I sure they will come. The white wrist band picks up dirt and dies from everything so I wouldnt recommend that color. I am always having to charge the battery...its not very efficant. Also it is a bit heavy on the wrist and becomes uncomfortable.

This s item not really good , actually it 's bad watch when i pay for $250 can not use in water , bluetooth connection with the phone not far , actually your phone have near by you if u want the watch it work , also it short battery life . And it's only use for samsung phone . This watch tooo ooo expensive to use like baby toy for kids

I primarily got this watch for the wrist notification because I carry two phones and it works great for that. The band was a little weird but once you figure it out it's fine. I have used the speaker phone a couple of times and found it to be okay but a little awkward in a crowd. Reading texts on your arm is kind of nice. The bluetooth range is great, I can put my phone on the charger and take calls on my watch. I waited for the price to drop before I got it only to find out the new version is due out in another month. You might want to wait...

Most companion gadgets that you've bought in the past or you will buy in the future are mostly for keeping with trends or being downright flashy. This is not the case with the Galaxy Gear. When you receive as many phone calls, texts, and e-mails as I do (I'm an accountant) there are times where you have to silence your phone on the fly or stop to actually respond to messages. Having notifications sent to a watch (and have the ability to silence or send a canned message) while you're typing up a response, review, report, etc. is a lifesaver when you can instantly discern what's pertinent or what can wait. I never thought one piece could change my cellular experience. This did it.

to me the galaxy Gear is great except for you can't erase the missed call notification my favorite is the camera in the media controller I also love the pedometer it's great for my workouts

synced with my phone in a snap, read texts, caller I.D. without taking out my phone. my favorite function is the remote media controller. only real complaint is battery life. if i turn off the auto on function it can last over 2 days. with the auto on function turned on, i'm lucky to get a full days use on a charge. over all i think it's a good device, just not worth the $300 price tag.

The only thing keeping this from a 5th star is the speaker for phone calls, it can be hard to hear depending on background noise. I haven't had any complaints about people not being able to hear me. I really like the pedometer function so that I can count my steps which is useful since I want to lose weight.

Bought this on clearance while away on business for 3 weeks. It kept me busy most of the time tinkering around with it. I loaded up a custom rom with Android and had the watch tethering to my phone and squeezed everything I could out of it. Then I gave Tizen a run and at first it seemed dull and not many apps, but then I found out that if you changed your build.prop to look like a S5 phone, you could see hundreds of apps on Samsungs store. I eventually settled for more practical apps that help me stay organized during the day. The best feature though is probably the capability to answer calls right on the watch. This was handy in my rental car that didn't have bluetooth. Also in my car at home with sync I could change songs and start apps on my phone. You could also reply with S-Voice to SMS/MMS text messages. That's about it. Oh and the battery life on Tizen is outstanding. Once I reset the device in recovery I then could easily go 3 days and still have almost 50% at the end of day 3. Not too bad. Chris

It is a very cool addition to my phone. Allows me to take calls, picture, get weather reports, talks. I haven't found much that it can't understand that I ask it to help with.

In general this is a great product. Set up was a little confusing and couldn't contact Samsung (dead link on their help line). I finally got it set up and it has been working fine ever since. The S-voice is a nice feature. My battery life is a little over a day so similar to the average smart phone. The screen resolution is great so it is easy to read emails and text messages. The camera takes decent photos witch can be displayed on the watch and uploads to your phone automatically. There are not a ton of apps yet. There are rumors circulating around that the next generation will be a stand alone that accepts a sim card.

This is a great product. I really like just being able to look at text messages, and see who is call without pulling out my Note 3 all of time. Taking pictures & shooting video is fun as well. I was really surprised that the phone call on the gear isn't really that bad. Once the price drops on this product it will be a must buy.

This device is great...no more chasing to find my phone, and the ability to answer the phone from anywhere in the house is a godsend. It is also stylish, and the changeable watch faces match any environment. I don't leave home without.

i love it sooooooooooo much , this is exactly what i need at my job where we r not supposed to use cell phones, i only got it so i can receive urgent phone calls from family since i work a night shift , leaving a mom with 2 little kids alone . ppl said that its a little pricey but for me i don't care , i needed it so i got it, they also said that it needs charging everyday , not true , i have 12 hours shift and am away from home for 14 hours , by the time i get home the battery still got 57% juice , i cant say that am a heavy user , i used 7 to 10 times a day , calling , texting , life360 , chaton voice msg ...... haven't use the camera for real pictures yet , but quality is ok , video recording is 15 sec not 10 sec like some youtube viewers said , voice recording is 5min , calling quality was very good in a very loud manufacturing place . very handy if u can't reach ur phone for some reason . overall awesome watch with a pedometer for workout freaks :)

Nice watch, easy to read display. Connects easily with my Samsung S4 phone. Dialing pad and speakerphone in the watch work great. Takes nice wide angle pictures and video and automatically uploads them to your phone. Cool way to answer the phone without taking your phone out of your pocket or purse. I hope that, within a few months or so, more gear-compatible apps will show up on the market.

I purchased the galaxy gear becuase I really like all of Samsung' s products and thought this would be a nice addition. I really enjoy how simple it is now to check incoming messages and emails without having to take my note 3 out or have it on me in most cases as long as im within about 30 feet of it. It does everything they advertise it to do although it is on the pricier side in comparison to the pebble which does the same things for half the price. Overall its a great 1st edition watch and im looking forward to the 2nd gen smartwatch.

I like this watch more every day I use it. It notifies me of any notifications very fast. There is hardly any delay from when my phone vibrates to when the watch does. I love that I can actually read the message right from my watch and can reply with my voice or a pre entered message. OR if I just pull out my phone, the message will already be right on my phone and ready for me to type out a reply. It looks, sounds, and feels great.
