This note 9 version of Samsung is just a mess. I have bought more than three Samsung note 9 and all of them are faulty. I regret spending that much buying it.

This phone is beautiful. The screen is amazing. Battery life is excellent (lasts more than two days for me). The only issue I have is the finger print reader. Although the position is better than the Note 8, it should be located a little lower. I wish Samsung would stop including their own browser, email, and calendar apps. There is nothing special with their apps to warrant using them. I prefer the Google apps. Also, I wish their UI allowed you to use Google Now rather than Bixby. I do like their user interface compare to stock Android, but Bixby is not very good.

Simply put, Samsung is more worried about putting money into their pockets rather than providing a good experience for the end user. I am sure there are lots of people out there with stellar experiences with this phone, as there are a ton of things I enjoy about it. The reason I own a smartphone isn't necessarily to use social media, as I don't have those things. I own a smartphone because I like to take pictures on the fly when I am traveling and I use my phone as a guide to find things to do when I am out and about mostly as well as read reviews. I chose the Note 9 when I did primarily for the headphone jack. The contenders were going to be the LG V40 or the Note 9 and I chose the Note 9 because it was in stock and the V40 was not. When I first received the Note 9 it did everything beautifully, and there were a few gripes with it regarding bloatware and the useless Facebook app it came with that is uninstallable but these were things that were livable. The uninstallable apps began to give me a vibe that Samsung is likely less worried about the user experience and more worried about monetizing their products, but I digress. I continued to use the phone and enjoyed every bit of it. The Pie update FINALLY came, Woo hoo! It was a new sleek interface, something to feast my eyes on and it was different than before so that made the phone feel new and exciting again. Shortly after the update however, my Google Now began to malfunction. This has always been my primary go to for information. Essentially anytime I was at home, google knew where I was (most of the time) and could find things nearby me. It wasn't until I began to travel out of state is when it would stick me in Chicago and that's just where I was as far as Google Now was concerned. I could no longer say things like "Food near me" or "Walmart near me". It simply would always spit back results from Chicago only. I notified Samsung of this issue via their Samsung Members app, which appears to be very friendly and customer centric, but I was quickly proven wrong. I was advised I should factory reset the phone, and so I did and of course it worked for awhile, and then I drove to Atlanta, GA and the issue appeared rather immediately. I was no longer able to find restaurants or stores near me, and this is the whole reason I have a phone to begin with. I contacted Samsung again, and they informed me to bring the phone to my nearby Best Buy as they are an Authorized Repair center for Samsung, so I did. They confirmed the phone had issues and proceeded to a re imaging process, which failed on multiple occasions. The representative at best buy advised me to contact Samsung for a replacement, which is already kind of annoying since I purchased Geek Squad protection upon purchasing assuming they would handle all this for me, but again, I digress and continued to contact Samsung. A Samsung rep advised me that this is most definitely a Software issue and that Best Buy didn't know what they were doing and to send the device to a UBREAKIFIX store. Upon going to a UBREAKIFIX store the representative in the store advised me that they cannot work on an unlocked device, it must be carrier branded. They advised me that if they were to re-image an unlocked device, that it would carrier lock it. This is where I began to be rather frustrated with Samsung and Best Buy for the matter. Not only is my expensive warranty useless at this point but I have a defective phone that nobody can fix and Samsung is being less than stellar helping me through the process. I digressed again and contacted Samsung and told them what had happened at the UBREAKIFIX store. I was advised by the rep that I needed to send it to Plano TX for repair and that it would take upwards to a month to get it back. Wait a minute, I paid 1,250.00 (price of an apple device) for a "premium flagship" device and I have to be without it for a month when it has an issue? This is an obvious ploy to deter someone from sending their device from Samsung because they don't want to spend the money providing good service toward their existing products that have already been sold. It's sad companies like Samsung get away with treating people like this. We are so addicted to our mobile devices that we let this type of thing happen and its sickening. If nothing comes out of this, I can assure you I will have to break myself from smartphones altogether and just rely on my Garmin for navigation and travel from now on, as it does a much better job than my Samsung device does and was 1/10th of the price. I hope you have a better experience than me and don't have to deal with Samsung's lack of care. If I had any kind of advice here, I would purchase the phone from Samsung directly on their website and purchase the Samsung Care Premium due to the fact that you can get a replacement device per request if anything goes bad with it, as the Geek Squad protection is useless.
