Customers have good things to say about the Galaxy S 5 Active 4G Cell Phone's camera quality, ease of use, battery life, and screen size. Many appreciate its water resistance and the range of features it offers. However, some users express dissatisfaction with the pre-installed apps and the charging port cover. The phone's positive aspects appear to outweigh the negative for most customers.

After having an iPhone for about 2 years I wasn't sure I would like having a phone that wasn't an apple product. I was so wrong! I love this phone much more than I ever did my iPhone! Apps are easier to download and use, and most updates are done automatically without having to plug in the phone or be unable to use it for 30 minutes to an hour. The picture quality is very good, and I even transferred pictures from my iPhone to the Samsung, and low and behold, they look way better on my new phone!

I loved my SG3 but was getting frustrated about the lag time, the battery (I would have to charge it again at lunch time even if I was using it just a little), and the way it would get so hot when using GPS functions. I was thinking about getting a HTC One M8 but after looking at both I chose the SG5 and I am glad. I like how Samsung lays out their phones (I don't know enough to customize Android; I use whatever the phone manufacturer provides). I like how fast it is. And my battery life is insane! It still does get hot while using it as GPS with Maps on the road, but not as hot as the SG3, or so I have convinced myself. The camera makes me a better photographer, although I am still learning how to take great pictures. And the water resistant feature came in handy when I had it in my pocket and got soaked on an amusement park ride. My SG3 would not have made it alive! Overall, I am very happy with this choice.

Upgraded from S3 partly because the phone was close to free with a new contract and also to have a chance for latest updates and figuring the S3 would become a backup. Also figured this may be close to the end of the line for free/cheap top of the line phones. Liked the idea of the heart monitor though I find it's not convenient enough that I'd grab the phone to take a heart rate during a workout. The S3 was already a bit big for my hand and this is bigger, BUT love the speed, the available apps, the functionality. Would prefer if I could delete some of the bloatware packed on by AT&T and Samsung. Oh, and I really like that I can change the battery myself. The fast charging is great, but the tiny door over the place where you insert the USB 3.0 charger cord is an annoyance as is the fact that the 3.0-type cable is harder to line up and insert than the normal micro USB. This also limits charger options--so be aware. My old S3 car charger wouldn't work since it is a single piece. Greater water resistance will be a plus for some folks, but never having sent a phone swimming yet, I'm not sure it's worth the aggravation.

I got this phone on release date (4/11), so I have owned it for less than a month now. So far so good, beautiful picture quality, improved battery life, the phone is very fast and I love the size of the screen!

I upgraded to this phone from a Galaxy S4 and I have to say I love the features. The main reason for the upgrade was for the "waterproof" feature and the similarities to my Galaxy Tab S 8.4 (purchased in 7/14). I like the fingerprint reader (same as Galaxy Tab S) and the speed of the processor. The display is incredible and I love the camera. Now I am no photographer and the camera is perfect for what I am looking for, speed and convenience (have to small children so you always have to be ready with the camera). I have been a fan of Samsung for some time and love the compatibility with my Samsung Smart TV as well. All in all great screen (size and resolution), great features, and very user friendly.

I've had my Samsung S 5 for about 3 weeks now.and I'm very happy with my purchase. I considered 3 phones before finally deciding on the Samsung. The HTC1, the iPhone 6 and the Samsung. I happen to,have an iPad and the iPhone 6 was in the mix, mostly because of compatibility issues. In the end, I decided against the iPhone because I didn't really want another Apple product. I like being able to change a battery myself and not pay for routine support. If one does not buy Apple support with purchase, it costs money to even call Apple support with a question and you have to make an appointment, Anyway, after ruling out the iPhone, it was, between the HTC and the Samsung. I like the 2 apeakees on the HTC. Love to listen to music and the HTC sounds really good, even without headphones. It is also generally a very nice phone. However,in the end the Samsung won because of all the great features. Love the camera, being able to use my fingerprint for acreen lock and the general ease of use. I had a Motorola Atrix 2 before which also was an android phone and this certainly helped the learning curve but there are so many new features on the Samsung that I advise downloading the entire manual instead of depending on the help app on the phone (unless you are really tech savvy). The basics are easy but I have had to go to the manual for more complex uses. If I have one beef, it's one that has been mentioned by many others, the excessive amount of preloaded apps, many of which I have no use for. However, this is a problem that is easily remedied. So, in general I consider this a great, easy to use smartphone.

I've owned an iPhone and let me tell you this phone is more worth thevery money than that. Comes with a 16 mp camera( which is double the iphones) this phone takes amazing pictures. The android works exceptionally fast. Less glitches than the iPhone as well. And you gotta love the S Health which comes already installed. Overall, you'D be better off with the S5.

Used to be an iPhone only guy, but could not pass up the deal offered on this phone at the time at Best Buy. Pleased to say, I have not been disappointed. This is an extremely versatile phone, easy to use, takes awesome pictures and has superior quality images on the screen. Highly recommended.

It will take me all year to figure out the whole phone, but its been fun working with the apps. I stayed overnight at work and didn't have my charger but it kept the charge for 24 hours of use. I didn't want a smart phone, but my other phone (non-smart) was kaput and most phones today are the smart type. Works well, easy to use out of the box. Love it!

Got an upgrade from the previous Galaxy S3 and it sure got a lot better than previous versions. The camera is able to take videos from afar at a higher video quality and sound than our old Galaxy S3 phone. Battery power has improved and with the new power mini usb power cord, charging is way faster. The option to use the old mini usb power cord from previous versions of the Galaxy phone is a good idea, since most device still uses it.

I got this phone about 4 weeks ago and I really like it. I haven't had any problems. It holds a charge all day. It's very similar to the Galaxy 3 I had before it. Takes clear photos, the speaker phone sounds good. I like that it's easier to clear all the screens at once with the G5 vs. the G3. No complaints.

This is the first smart phone I have purchased and I have found it very easy to use. It takes good quality pictures and I like the overall features of the phone. The battery tends to need to be charged at least every day but It can last 2 days with normal use. I would recommend this phone to other customers!

So glad I went with the Samsung brand for my 1st smart phone. Easy to use and love the screen. So glad I purchased it from Best Buy. The salesperson that rung my purchase was awesome. Very knowable and friendly. The best part of my experience was the Samsung rep. He was very helpful in all his knowledge in helping me make this decision to up grade to a smart phone from a flip phone. I am so glad my friend who purchased her Samsung S4 phone from Best Buy encouraged me to purchase mine there also. Way better customer service than at the Verizon store. And I was not lead to make a purchase that I was not comfortable with. The Samsung rep also helped to show me after I purchased the phone some features etc. Not only did he take the time before my purchase was made but after my purchase. I hope to have this phone for awhile but when I need to make another phone purchase I am definitely coming back to Best Buy to do so. Excellent customer service from the person who rung up my purchases and from the Samsung rep. THANKS!!!!

I upgraded to the GS5 from a GS3 and I'm impressed with the improvements. The camera is awesome with many new and different effects that I'm just starting to play with. The phone is fast opening or switching between apps and it makes phone calls too! The battery life is very good, I'm able to get through a whole day with battery life to spare. I can almost get through 2 days without a charge. The best thing that has happened with my new phone happened while at a baseball game, I was taking a picture of the batter and zooming in when the person sitting next to me said "wow, look at that picture from your phone, what kind of phone is that?" And I answered "its the Samsung Galaxy S5, its the next great thing." he said that his iPhone didn't take pictures that nice and my answer was yes I know. Enough said, it's a great phone go get one.

I made the switch to Android for the first time with the S5, getting rid of my beloved Windows Phone. The app selection is just too much to pass up on Google Play. The S5 has some pretty cool and convenient features like the fingerprint scanner and the heart rate monitor, to go along with fast hardware, beautiful screen, and generally good battery considering all that you can do with this smartphone. I couldn't pass the deal up when Best Buy offered the S5 for just $49.99 with a 2 year activation.
