Nice phone but needs a bigger battery

Perfect size phone! It has a decent screen and snappy performance. The camera handles most situations almost as good as my canon dslr camera and much easier to carry. The only major issue is the battery life which struggles to make it through the day. It also does not have a microsd card slot. It would be nice if they would truly treat the smallest size flagship phone like it was actually a flagship like the larger sizes, which are just too large in my opinion.

This is is the S22 like it because it's almost the same size as my S7. Easy to use. The only thing that I had issues with was trying to answer incoming calls. Now, instead of swiping across, you need to swipe up diagonally. I have no battery issues but I charge at night on my old wireless charger for an hour. Take it off the charger and it's good to go when I wake up. There is no SD card slot. No wall charger, no earbuds, which were included with the S7. Verizon puts a lot of bloatware apps that I will never use. All apps load quickly. It has a sharp screen, takes nice pics. Has more features than S7. It's expensive but it's waterproof. I got a good deal on BestBuy during Labor Day weekend with no trade-in. I really like this phone. Easy to transfer all files and data using Samsung Smart Switch by putting the 2 phones side-by-side and following directions. Transferred 31.5 GB in 37 minutes to new phone.

Solid phone. Perfect size for my taste. Beautiful screen. Top-notch cameras. Only downside is a sub-optimal battery size that will leave some users frustrated.

The S22 is definitely faster and more optimized than the S9 I upgraded from. Slightly smaller screen, but I love the flat edges. I'm glad they finally got rid of the curved sides. Personally, my only complaint is the weak vibration motor. I miss every single call and text unless I'm looking directly at my screen when they come in. I even have the vibration strength and the "vibration sound" tone they added. They do not help, the new vibration just flat out sucks. If i would have known about this before upgrading, I would have passed and kept the S9.

This is my 3rd Galaxy. It is not too big. Has enough memory for all my apps. The battery is terrible, thus the 4 stars. My phone use is moderate while awake. The battery runs out before the end of the day. It was easy to remove most of the bloat wear. But, I can't figure out how to stop the lock screen from constantly displaying the date and notification icons, which is causing battery drain. Bought a 45 Watt wall charger and can charge from dead to fully charged in 60 mins. Won't pair with my older headset. Linked fine with my new Aftershock. The color is beautiful. But, it has been hard to find a good shock absorbing case for less than $50 and in any other color but black. My husband bought the S21+ which has a better battery but is too big for me.

Happy Upgrade

Let me start by saying I upgraded to the S22 from an S8, so there was an adjustment period and I almost hated this phone. But now I love it. It's a good size for pockets. The screen is so incredibly vibrant. Takes beautiful pictures. Runs so much faster than my S8. I haven't had any performance issues at all. The battery is okay, that's the one thing that could definitely be better. I took the time to put a lot of apps to sleep and that helps a lot. Be mindful of what you allow to run in the background. Overall I am happy with the S22

I am coming from a Pixel 3 to this phone. Overall I do like this phone. I don't love it as I think the camera software was better on the Pixel. However, I chose this as the Pixel 6 had too many bugs and was too big for me physically. The smaller size of this phone is perfect. While I feel the Pixel camera is better the camera on this phone is no slouch. I do love the 8K video. Overall this is the best android phone on the market at the moment until something else better comes out. I am hoping the Pixel 7 fixes many of the issues that came with the 6.

Downgrade from previous generations

I have had one of almost every generation of Samsung flagship phones(S2, S3, S5, Note5, S7, Note7, S7 edge, S8, S9, S10e, S20, S21). This phone feels like a downgrade from my S21 and even from my S10e(my favorite phone I've ever owned).
There are several issues with this phone:
1. Heat - The phone gets extremely hot to the point of it feeling unsafe to handle. My phone just stopped working while I was using Google Maps due to overheating. I would have had to pull over to let the phone cool down if someone else in my car had not let me use their phone instead.
2. Battery - I had seen many people complaining about the smaller battery on this phone especially when compared to the S21(S21: 4000maH, S22 3700 maH) but thought this just people nitpicking about specs because screens are the biggest battery drain and this phone has a smaller screen than the S21(S21: 6.2in, S22: 6.1). After using the phone for a couple weeks I can confirm that the battery life is much worse on the S22 and I have found out that this is due to the poor performance of the new Snapdragon chips(Snapdragon 8 gen 1). These chips are incredibly inefficient which causes the phone to get very hot and the battery to drain very quickly, all while having almost no improvement over the S21.
3. RAM issues - This seems to be more of a Google/Android problem rather than a Samsung specific problem but for the last several years I have noticed Androids RAM management become increasingly more restrictive to the point where I can't rely on my apps staying open in the background anymore. Just today I went for a jog using an app that gives me vibration and audio cues to walk/jog. After a couple cycles of walking then jogging I noticed I was jogging for what seemed like way too long but I wanted to push through and wait for the cue to stop. After far too long I took the phone out of my arm band and saw that the app had stopped running so there was never going to be a cue. This is not something that had ever happened on my previous phones.
4. Fingerprint scanner - The ultrasonic under display fingerprint scanners on the S10, S20, S21 and S22 series have all given me problems. Sometimes they work sometimes they don't but the times when they don't work are very frustrating. This makes me miss the physical fingerprint scanner from the S10e and previous phones. Luckily these phones also have face recognition that works pretty well so if the fingerprint doesn't work the face unlock usually will work and vice versa.
5. Sharp squared corners - The sides and edges of this phone feels like a major step back in design. I had come to love the curved back feel of the previous generations of Samsung phones as it made a large phone feel much smaller in the hand. This phone on the other hand feels uncomfortable to hold in the hand and feels chunkier than other phones I have had that are actually bigger than it. I re-opened my long stored S9 to take advantage of a trade in deal and noticed that the S9 felt amazing in the hands compared to the S22, the same goes for my S21. The iphone like squared/sharp sides/corners feels like a major downgrade for Samsung.
6. Charging speeds - The charging speeds on this phone only go to 25watts, which is decent but there are many Chinese smartphones that have had drastically faster speeds in the past few years which has left Samsung in the dust. Samsung has not improved these speeds since the S20 and even iphone now has faster charging speeds(27watts). Many phones are now charging at 50, 65, 120 and soon to be 240 watts.
Overall I would recommend a previous generation Samsung phone over this phone or even an iPhone.

This phone is faster, takes better pictures than I expected and I am happy I bought it. I read many "the battery sucks" comments and once I figured out you need to turn on fast charging it has been lasting much longer than my iphone 13 pro, S9+ , S20fe and S8+. I currently have and use daily , all but the S9+ which is the wifes.

I reccently upgraded from my Galaxy 8 to the 22. So far I have been thrilled with the new phone. I am still learning changes and differences that have occurred since my phone to this newer model. Looking to find ways to change the notification sounds for different apps. So far, I have the same sound for everything. There is also no longer a notification light. I am sure some of the other kirks I will get used to over time, but for now I am really pleased with my purchase.

I've been using the new phone for two weeks now -- so far, so good. Screen quality is noticeably better than my old S10e. The data transfer app worked *almost* without a hitch. Most of my settings, including how I arrange apps on my home screens, came over properly. There are still some things that you have to do yourself, like setting up synced calendars. A few apps will also require that you re-configure them. Overall, still a reasonable experience, even though you'll lose a day finding all the little things that need configuring.
One thing that I don't like is the way the phone sits when you put it down on a table. It doesn't sit flat, because the camera lenses are on a raised plate. I'm hoping that my new case will fix that problem. Verizon made a smooth transfer as well.

Samsung Galaxie S22, Straight forward setup, Great battery life. I like the screen (over my S9...the rolled edges made it harder to hold and to copy text near the edges. Display is nice. Camera great.
