I pre-ordered this phone a few weeks before it was released. Through careful research this phone was one of my top picks when I decided I was going to upgrade. When I first went to BestBuy I was torn between all the new phones. My first picks were the HTC M9 or the iPhone 6.
After looking at the phones in person I was less impressed. Not a lot had changed from their predecessors. Then I took a crack at the S6. The amolded screen was beautiful, very vibrant colors, and HUGE! I could fit my entire iPhone 4 on just the screen. Despite that fact it weighed noticeably less, and was thinner.
I was very happy with Samsung's choice to join the solid body family, it was a little over due. While the sleek design is just following in suit with the rest of the smartphones, the curved screen gives it the edge (lol) over the others as far as looks. The Edge screen is honestly what sold me... and the free wireless charger. Though it doesn't have as many functionalities as I wished it had, I love the way it looks.
While being almost perfect, it is just that... almost perfect. I've had a few issues with it. They are so trivial though I feel like a whiner just talking about them. Sometimes while holding the phone my fingers will accidentally touch the screen because of the curve, and my phone will slide off of things because it is too smooth. Aside from that and a couple sweaty hand issues with the fingerprint reader, I'm very pleased with my purchase.
I would easily recommend this sweet peace of the future to anyone looking to get a new phone. Within the first few days of having it I couldn't stop myself from showing it off to everyone. It must have rubbed off on a few of my friends because a few days later four of them had one. Needless to say they got a bit jelly.

When I went to upgrade my cell phone, I was checking to see if Best Buy would match the price Target was advertising for the Samsung Galaxy S6, which Target didn't have in the color and size I wanted. While they were looking into it, making sure terms matched and such, they mentioned that the Edge was on sale that week for the $99 I was willing to spend on the S6, so I went for the more expensive phone. The S6 Edge is very nice to look at, with the curved edges, unfortunately there isn't a lot of apps or uses for the edge, or at least to justify what is usually $100 more than the S6. The phone works great, the camera is very nice, I just haven't played with it a lot. Battery life is typical for a smart phone. If you use the phone a lot, you'll see the battery drain, though the phone does have Power saving and Ultra Power saving which can help. I don't use my phone much, so I can get 2 to 3 days without having to recharge. Quick charging is awesome, I can get a fully charged phone in an hour. The Samsung apps included are great, there are even some exclusive and free apps available, the other night I got free ringtones which included several popular songs and even had the Star Wars Darth Vader theme. The S6 Edge is a very nice phone, I don't think it is worth an extra $100 over the S6, but if you can get a good deal or just like the beauty of it, go for it.

The phone is fast, has a great camera and screen. It's relatively thin and lightweight. When used with the included charger, it gets a full charge from zero in 90 minutes. Regular USB chargers take hours.
The way I use it, the battery life is not great. I sometimes do not get a full day. Most of my use is on wireless with a lot of internet and email. I also use the GPS extensively.
The phone quality is good but I don't use it a lot. Sound is reasonable with the built-in speaker and quite good with headphones, wired or bluetooth.
Wireless range is very good. Bluetooth works well.
The use of the edges for some special features that I don't really use, means that the cases (limited variety) cannot provide very good protection. I got the edge vs the regular S6 because of price. Given the same price for both, I would have gotten the regular S6.

I have had the phone for about a week now and it is a great new version of the Samsung. they have made improvements that make function fast and simple. it has lots of refinements from previous versions.
the new battery definitely seems to charge fast and well. I am happy with how long the charge lasts. I have not rin the battery low yet. I hope that its life is as promised, since you cannot change the battery.
It is thinner and lighter and not much longer than the s4.
I was hoping that they would continue with the weather resistance line, but they did not. the entire phone is encased in Gorilla Glass 4. there is no real way to tell just yet how effective this new glass will be at protecting the phone. I got the best buy warranty. the curved screen does make cases a bit challenging. The other reviews I read are correct in that the phone is a bit slippery. It will slide off sloped surfaces. Again, that would make me recommend the warranty.
the screen is beautiful. it puts other screens to shame. it has an amazing sense of depth, clarity, and color. the screen is classy and powerful. You can read it easily in the sunlight. The the special edge functions are cool, but not world altering.
the speaker is slightly better than the one on the s4. the speakerphone is not improved.
the camera is a big improvement. it comes up immediately and is ready to take a shot fast and in focus. (Something the s4 was especially poor at doing.) Some of that credit has to be the better, faster processer. So, i am thrilled. really like the wider angle lens as well.
the fingerprint lock system works very well.
overall, I am very pleased with the phone. I would definitely recommend it.
Though i have not tried it, I have a feeling that the non-edge version is as good overall. The edge screen features themselves would not make me recommend the edge over the plain version if the price difference is an issue. But, the beauty of the overall edge phone is great. The plain version may be easier to protect without the curve screen, as well.

I LOVED the Edge. It was sleek and beautiful. HOWEVER, I need a case on my phone. I had purchased a couple different cases and they all cover the edge. Ones that didn't weren't worth it because they didn't offer any protection - hence useless. So once you cover up the edge ...on the Edge...you might as well get the un-Edge S6. Which is what I did. I ended up trading it in. Why cover up all the fun stuff with a case?
Sliding in from the side to get your easy favorite contact list wasn't as easy as they picture it on the commercial. But after a bit I got the hang of it. The "nightlight" feature was pretty cool but without my glasses...that was a useless feature too! Ha! Fuzzy time is no time. I didn't have it long enough to set up new feeds and the like. I think I did the texts a little but again, I had a case on it most the time. When I was at my desk I would pop the case off but if I had to walk around even two steps that case went right back on! And forget a screen protector. I didn't get it but the reviews were consistent in that it peels up on the edges so much it was useless. So for me, the neat stuff you gain with the Edge didn't pan out for me because protection is more important to me.
But it IS a beautiful phone that is sleek and brings envy. I would recommend it but with all the caveats mentioned above. If you aren't a case person, you can ROCK this phone.
As far as brand? Well Sammy is on top of the game right now. The camera is spectacular. The beautify feature is awesome! goodbye pimples! HA! It's very clear and the double click of the home key even if the phone is hibernating brings the camera right up. You don't have to fumble around for the camera app. It has a ton of features in the camera but I'm not a novice so all that stuff is foreign to me.
The other feature I LOVE is that I can talk and be online clicking away without hanging up. Or texting even taking and sending pictures while talking. It also has a double screen feature. I haven't used that much yet - mainly because I forget I have it. It's new to me - something I always wished I had so I need to remember so I can use it! Sound quality is good - even speakerphone is clear.
I'm not a big fan of the hard click-home key but I'm getting use to it. We are getting used to touch screen so I don't know why they still have this hard key. ugh
OHHHH!!!! Almost forgot!! WIRELESS CHARGING! YAY!!! Saves on the charger port which we've all had to replace before. I LOVE IT! I have a TYLT. It's a little pricey - but find it online. I think I paid $50 for mine, but LOVE IT! IT had the top ratings for wireless charging. The tilted stand is awesome. I have one by my bed and on my desk and in my chair in the living room. I just set it down and it's charging. I have watched movies on it which is way cool! So you won't run your battery down because not only is it tilted so you can watch - it's charging while you do it! Sorry, I digress to a review on Tylt! Ha! But the wireless charging feature of the S6 is off the chain. I love it. No more fumbling with a wire and plugging in. (Trident even makes a Qi charging cup - sits right in your cup holder!!)
I'm not a geek-girl so I can't speak to much of the other techie functions on the phone. The processor does what I need it to.
Overall, Sammy rocked it!

VERY smooth and fast phone. Switched back to Samsung from a HTC One M8 and what a difference. Always been dedicated with Samsung owning from the Samsung Galaxy Nexus on up, till the trial period began with the HTC M8. Never will I abandon you again dear Sammy! Major overhaul on the design exception of the deletion of memory card slot and removable battery, which was a major deciding factor. The edge functionality might not be worth the premium but the screen sure does make up for it!!

I upgraded from the S4. Samsung produces some great phones!
The camera takes amazingly beautiful pictures and now has slow/fast motion capability - but it removed the action shot (4shots in one).
Due to the design the back is no longer able to be removed and thus you cannot buy any extra SD to add in with more space. Can't say I was happy with that.
I purchased the edge, love the look and it gets noticed but honestly I have not done anything with the edge, either I don’t know what to use it for or it has no actual function currently.
I like that the headphone and charging ports are on the same side. Have to remove phone case (heard others with same issue) to plug in my charger.
Overall it did have some differences from my previous phone but Samsung has me won over and I preach their products to everyone.

I bought this on Black Friday for only $1.00. I truly love this phone. It has some really great features like the side bar. You can assign up to 5 contact a different color and if they call, it lights up their assigned color, which is great if your phone is on mute. I find that this phone is not as slippery as many reviews have said, but either way, every phone that I have had has been in a case. I have dropped this phone many, many times and it has not cracked nor broken. Most phones in a case will be well protected. It is really slim. The speakers are nice, the speed is fantastic and the resolution is great. I fine it easy to navigate thru the phone, it is not difficult to figure out. I would recommend this phone to anyone...especially, if you take advantage of Black Friday sales and other opportunities like that.

The new Samsung 6Edge is great, easy to use, super sharp screen even in sunlight. Can check all functions easily, great camera, switch between functions fast! Wanted a phone to pay bills, make reservations while on the road a lot, does that and more. Had a very basic smart phone before and am able to use this right away. Love it and I'm not a technology person. Best Buy staff were terrific answering questions and getting it up and running.

I bought this for my mother, and she's still in her mid 40's. We switched her from an iPhone 5 to this phone because she's been having difficulty reading and typing even with larger fonts. We didn't really go to the store to see what the phone was like, but we kept reading the reviews on best buy and comparing the newer iPhone models. We decided to go with this one because it was on sale.
The screen is clearer, the phone is easier to use and you can customize the phone the way you want it. we are still figuring out how to use it fully but so far, it's great. switching from iphone to samsung was a great decision. I don't think we'll be going back to the iphones any time soon.

Been a long time andriod user but never had a samsung before. Loved my HTC I had before, but when comparing this S6 to the new HTC, I felt this was a much better phone. I ended up getting the 32gb edge model and I have almost nothing bad to say about it, but i'll get to that later. Even though all the edge screen features are cool, I could live without them all but one of them. love the night clock feature on the edge model. It is nice to be able to see what time it is and if there is an alarm set by just turning your head towards the nightstand to see these features. No sitting up or grabbing the phone to be blinded by a bright screen when you are still in bed.
The one thing I could criticize it for is the HDR filter. My old HTC took incredible HDR photos in dark and bright situations perfectly, and really highlighted certain features of the image. I take alot of photos at work while i'm outdoors working on a golf course. This phone still takes incredibly clear, crisp photos, but I think it lacks a little in the HDR setting. Almost looks like the bad HDR iphone photos i see people posting.
All in all, dont hesitate, you will like it.

I love this phone. Came from a galaxy S5. The screen is amazing and so is the camera. Only pitfalls are the lack of expandable memory (fixed in the S7) and no remove able battery. Been using the phone for several weeks now and really love the speed of the phone. Highly recommended!!

There's not much not to like about this phone. Speedy, the screen is great, the Edge functionality is a bonus but certainly not a necessity. The curved screen is pretty cool though. Samsung is now the non-Apple company to beat (and believe me, I'm not saying Apple is better... Time to get with the Android program, folks...). Their support is great, the little hints and recommended app pushes help you to get familiar with your phone and all it has to offer.
I just wish it had expandable storage!! It's maddening as a consumer to be the brunt of the whims of product pipelining and marketing rollout plans. They're always holding something in their back pocket for the next iteration, but such is technology. The S7 is better, of course.
Oh, and it's very slippery... Make sure you get a case. I don't have one yet, and it's pretty nerve-wracking...

I finally made the switch from a IPhone 5 to the Galaxy s6 edge. I was very hesitant about making this change. I'm very glad I did. The only difficulty was transferring my ITunes music, in the end it was not that big of a problem. I used my laptop to transfer the music with itunes. The s6 edge is a beautiful phone that works incredibly fast. I live in a rural area where cell coverage can be spotty. So far I've had no issues. The camera and photos are leaps and bounds better than the iphone. I dropped my new s6 edge on the concrete driveway of my house with no case! I almost cried. To my surprise, I didn't even have a scratch on the phone even after sliding under my truck. I have since ordered a case! All in all, the s6 edge is a high quality device that I have no complaints about.

This phone does it all, more than I need. It even has better cell reception than my old S4 and the pictures seem better. I wasn't planning to upgrade but couldn't pass up the BB deal. I do wish it had expandable storage and a removable battery but it hasn't been an issue yet.
