I don't normally get caught up in the hype of the latest and greatest phone, but this time Samsung caught my eye. I went from a Galaxy 5S Active to the new Galaxy 8+, and was extremely impressed. Most things transferred from one phone to the next fairly easily, While it is larger, it doesn't feel bulky. The screen looked awesome in the clearness of it, and it took me a month to get a screen protector on it, but it stayed very clean with minimal maintenance. Best of all it has a very long battery life. While I am not constantly on my phone, I am on it quite a bit, and it so far is lasting easily all day, on a typical day. It also takes great pictures, even in low light. I took pictures with it at a concert from about 40 feet away and they came out pretty good. Like I stated before, I don't normally get caught up in the hype of the newest phones, but I did a little bit this time, and do not regret it at all.

This phone has some changes from the S7 that took a bit of getting used to. I will sometimes hit buttons that I didnt mean to hit and the home button takes some getting used to. I like the edge to edge screen and the side quick open thing is nice to use. The battery life is really good. I can go all day and have plenty of life left. As usual I wish they would toss all of the bloatwear that the phone companies force on us. The expandable storage ensures that even with the bloatwear that I will always have plenty of space for anything I may want to load.

Samsung - Galaxy S8+ 64GB - Midnight Black (AT&T) is by far the best Android smartphone I've ever owned. Infinity screen is a plus when watching your favorite movies & playing your favorite games. Battery life on this phone rocks! Android OS is lighting fast and secure. Overall a terrific device that can keep up with the times.

Almost as Good as My Note 7

I had to turn in my Note 7 from Samsung last year. The best phone I ever had. This Galaxy S8+ comes in mighty close. The only thing missing is the S-pen. Much improved software. The battery is great. I can get through a long day and have a minimum of 41% when I put it on the charger at night. I knew the camera would be great. The camera on the Note 7 had the best camera ever. Better than the IPhone 7 plus that I got when I had to turn in the Note 7. Security, from the finger print reader to eye scanner, face recognition, pattern draw or pin log-in. There is much one could do with apps and software. This is the first time I am using Samsung native apps. So many features built in. I had been waiting on the Note 8, but I think I have finally found my Note 7 replacement. The Samsung Galaxy S8+ "is almost as good as my Note 7”.

    Awesome Phone!

This phone Blows my old Samsung Galaxy S5 out of the water. The screen is not only bigger but the image quality is Awesome! Also the battery life is really great compared to older phones. I have found out that I get a faster charge and a longer lasting charge by using the cord and charger that came with the phone over the Inductive type chargers. I did buy the Belkin - MIXIT 5.9' USB Type C-to-USB Type A Device Cable - Black Model: F2CU032BT06-BLK SKU: 5277900 cord since the cord that did come with the phone is only 3 foot and not really practical. There are a few things that I have found to be a problem, first off AT&T had provisioned it's older Android phones with the capability of running Name ID by Cequint for an additional $2.99 a month, but for some reason AT&T has chosen not to provision any of it's newer phones with this feature, and no there is not an application by Cequint available at the play store. Cequint does not offer an application and is only provided by the phone company's if they choose, and according to Cequint AT&T is no longer going to provision their phone's with this feature. The next Problem I noticed is that when I want to text or mail by using voice instead of the key board this feature tends to either work perfectly or not work at all. I have found if I turn the phone completely off and then back on versus a restart it sometimes resolves this issue. Other than a few annoying problems I find this phone to be a huge movement into a new era of technology and I am going along for the ride.

I'm so happy I broke my other phone!

I bought this to replace my fairly new S7 Edge, as I had dropped it. I was ill, and p***ed that I had to replace it so soon. But, now I'm secretly glad that broke my old phone, as I LOVE this one so much more! Why didn't I drop the other one sooner? lol. I can't say it's all that much different in the way it works, but there are small improvements that made more difference than I thought it would, but the big difference is the size! I thought it would almost be too big, but it isn't at all! I love it so much more. I had in my mind that it was so big, that it would be cumbersome. I'm finding that I don't notice it to be any different when I'm putting it in my purse, etc. I'm sure I'll find a pocket or a spot in a different purse where my other fit and this doesn't, but I'm so over it....the phone is awesome and I'm loving the size of it! Great display. Of course, I had to get all new type C chargers and charging wires that I had spread around the house, purse, and travel "kits." That kind of sucks, but worth it.

My only complaint is the lack of physical home button, sometimes I'm annoyed by that, and the menu bar sometimes gets hidden which is also annoying. Love the camera, even no flash still offers good photos in low light.

    Outstanding But Fragile Phone

Battery life is outstanding, speed is outstanding, camera is outstanding. However, the S8 version of Gorilla Glass is weak. A waist-high drop will definitely crack the case, and spiderweb it. My old S6 Edge was much more durable. If you can keep from dropping your phone, this is the one to get!

    Samsung's New Flagship

This phone is extensively unique, in it's ability to innovate just as much as its' ability to disappoint. Samsung does right on many of its' hardware selection decisions - the screen is magnificent, the hold and feel of the device is fit for such large spec phone. However, its' placement of the fingerprint sensor and the Bixby button on the S8 is irritating at best. The iris sensor needs some work - it doesn't work in landscape mode and requires the line of sight of your iris to be just about perpendicular to the phone itself. Let's talk about Bixby. Bixby is just as annoying and as slow as Flipboard was on Samsung's older TouchWiz UI. Samsung really needs to take a note from Google on this one, as their page is utterly seamless and does not hitch at all when swiping left from the home screen. Not to mention - Bixby doesn't even come out with voice features; this is a huge disappointment as a button (which can no longer be remapped) is dedicated to a piece of incomplete slow software. Aside from the noticeable hardware blunders Samsung made with the S8/S8+, the phone definitely feels top of the line premium. It generally works well and has no glaring software issues other than release on 7.0 instead of Android 7.1, and comes out with certain tidbits that I personally use such as Samsung Pay. Is this a must buy? No. But if you're in the market for a new phone, consider this one as it is a strong competitor.

I'm not one to upgrade my phone often at all. But after reading reviews and capabilities of this new Samsung s8+, I had to get it. I'm not disappointed at all! The bigger screen, vivid display, quick response when using text. Video streaming is easy and looks amazing. Transferring all my data from previous phone was a breeze with new usb-c adapter. I've always been a Samsung loyalist, but this solidifies my allegiance! Oh, and the battery life is awesome! 3 days for me before I need to put back on charger. Average use, not around the clock usage.

Wasn't sure I would like the shape as long as it is but works nicely in my hand. Camera is fantastic, biometric logins (eyes and prints) work quickly and flawlessly. Solid performance quick and intuitive. Battery charges quickly and lasts through heavy use. Very happy with S 8 +
