Got the phone during Thanksgiving from BestBuy online at a great price. Delivered early by Best Buy. Great design and options by Samsung. Good support from Samsung+. Selective focus option of camera is sometimes weird, but PRO option helps taking professional type of pictures. I have been using since 1 month, battery lasts more than a day for me.

The screen size should be larger then others but since it's so tall vs 16:9 it smaller then other phones. Returned and got the S8 Plus. The phone itself is great

Let me start this review by saying that I am not a Samsung person. I have never liked Samsung phones, finding their software annoying and full of bloat. I had Nexus devices for years and was very happy with them. This phone, however, has blown me away. The build quality is excellent. I really hate the advertising for the screen ("Infinity Display"? Get over yourselves) but using it, holding it and interacting with it feel like I'm in the future. The colors are excellent, and the Always On Display is one of my favorite features. Other features I'm quite happy with is the ability to swap the Back and Multitasking buttons on screen to put them back in the right places that every other Android phone has them in. On to performance, the phone is blazing fast, and I've yet to notice a hiccup in speed. I game quite a bit, with the resolution at its highest, and it looks and feels great. I've heard some negatives about the camera from others online, but it works well enough for me. I'm not really an avid photographer, but it takes fast shots that look good, so I can't complain. Battery life is good, too. I use it heavily and still have a good 4 hours left once I get home. Now, no phone is perfect. There's some Samsung bloat that you can't seem to get rid of or disable. Why do I need "Internet" when Chrome is pre-installed? If I'm never going to use VR why can't I turn off the service? If I don't own the cover case, why can't I disable the service that displays through it? I don't really like TouchWiz, but it was easily replaced with Pixel Launcher (from and apk online). On to Bixby: it's useless. Google Assistant exists, is already installed, and is way better. Remapping the Bixby button is easy enough, with the help of an app. Speaking of the Bixby, there's a Bixby Vision pop-up every time I open the camera. No, Samsung, I do not want to give you the insane amount of permissions that you request or send every picture I take to you to be analyzed. Though, by far the biggest negative is the speaker. The one on the bottom of the phone I mean. It's loud enough, sure, as long as you don't cover it at all. Then it goes away completely. Playing games in portrait mode is always a task, trying to hold my phone just right (I often support my phone with my thumb on the bottom). There is no stereo with the ear speaker either. All in all, it's a great phone. I would suggest it to anyone. This Nexus guy has just gone Samsung.

It is still early, but early reviews are proving to be stellar. The unlocked version does not present with all of the bloatware that the companies install. Thus far it is very responsive add battery life lasts Moyer than 24 hours without a charge, depending on usage and days streaming. Lover the slightly bigger screen but still need readers. Sleek avid smooth. Bixby uggs clumsy, but the word is it gets better with learning. The unlocked version would not recognize my old simm card so a new one was needed. Apparently, this is not normal. Camera is great. Best Buy service was great this time and they were patient and helpful, which is not always the case.

First time with a Samsung phone and a top tier flagship device as well and I can see why people get high end phones, especially myself coming from a Moto g4 plus. The screen is the best I've seen in any phone and honestly feels like a mini OLED 4k tv in your hand. Great features that Samsung has added on such as custom themes, icon packs, creating gifs from videos etc. Camera is really great, haven't tested low light yet. And it's overall very fast and comfortable to hold. There are a few things I don't really care for that much on this device such as the somewhat unnecessary bixby button and the light gray shadows on the left and right sides of the display due to it being curved. I've also noticed that while the front, back, camera and the sides seem fairly scratch resistant the fingerprint scanner seems to scratch eaiser. I noticed after cleaning the back with a microfiber cloth, they were however micro scratches and I do have the black model so they'll show up more under certain lighting. If you don't like those then I'd suggest going with orchid gray or Arctic silver. The fingerprint scanner is not hard to reach, however even with a case (which I definitely recommend for this phone) I still found myself smudging the camera, so I actually use Iris scanning more often. I also wish the ram management was a bit better, because I will mostly notice 1.5 out of 4gb free, which idk why the os has to constantly hog up 2.5gb of it. This does not affect the speed and performance but it would be nice to have a bit free for games, heavy apps or heavy multitasking. Even though this device isn't perfect just like any other phone, it has a good balance on all categories and exceeds in some departments. If you're looking for a well balanced flagship with a great display and a camera then I'd say this one is worth looking into.

My last Samsung phone was a Note 2, after which I abandoned the line and went to Motorola's Moto X Pure Edition for its near-stock Android experience. Unfortunately, I broke that great phone while attempting to replace the non-user-replaceable battery. So, I thought I'd give Samsung another chance. I was prepared for the usual Samsung bloatware and really hoped that four generations would be enough for Samsung to have ironed out the lag and stuttering that plagued the earlier generations of their phones. Sadly, I still noticed some of that, but they have advanced greatly and it's not anywhere near as bad as those early phones, but it still lags, especially compared with a newer iPhone, Pixel, or Motorola. Maybe that's on account of the extreme amount of bloatware they still put on their phones or just a lack of software optimization. I did end up returning the phone, but not for these reasons alone: What I could not get over was the extreme fragility of the phone. My botched surgery on the Moto X notwithstanding, I am generally speaking, a very careful person and handle my electronics delicately. Never carry phones in the same pocket with keys, never drop them (knock on wood), and aside from the aforementioned Moto, I've never broken a single one of my electronics. Still, after a week of use with the s8+, I noticed a small scratch on the screen. I was perplexed because this phone supposedly has the most recent version of gorilla glass. Where the scratch showed up is where I usually swipe up to get to the app drawer. I could only conclude then that my fingernail was enough to scratch the screen. Now, maybe it was just a scratch in the oleophobic coating, but I wasn't about to go buffing off the coating to find out. After digging around in the reddit and xda forums, I found a great number of other users reported the same thing. With so many other flagships right around the corner (Pixel 2, iPhone X), I just couldn't keep it. It's a shame too, because this phone is beautiful, without a doubt. It ticks a lot of boxes - gorgeous screen, fast performance, wireless charging, expandable storage, water proofing, good pricing, etc., but Samsung really dropped the ball on durability with this one. I can't imagine what it would look like after a month or a year.

Despite all the videos online that show it surviving hammers hitting the screen, the phone will still chip and crack when dropped. Bixby button is annoying and still cannot be remapped unless rooted. Camera and screen are second to none. This review is completely trivial, find a real tech site if you're looking for something in-depth.

They say, once you use a note you cannot like any other phone. They are probably right. I thought the latest sensation, the samsung galaxy S8 could be the only phone that would be so awesome that it would drown my sorrow of losing my Note 3 but sorry to say it did not. It’s pretty neat though. It has got amazing features, the best of which is the Camera. I took photographs of the Eclipse with it and they turned out so awesome!! I was disappointed I couldn’t use Smule with the phone though. And I also dropped the phone accidentally once and the entire screen had cracked - so, mine wasn’t waterpfoof anymore. It was a soft fall and I had dropped my previous phones the same way before but they had never cracked. This means, it’s a delicate phone. At least the edge is. Unfortunately, I lost this phone too in few months (be careful when visiting LA) and I am still paying the EMI for the phone, so it only makes me bitter.

Timing placed me in a situation where I had to buy a new phone. I miss the Note 7. Samsung should have rolled out the floating s-pen features to all products... That never happened on my factory unlocked phone. Despite many reviews, this phone isn't too big and it's software features make my S7E feel obsolete. The ads do not convey how good of a phone this is. Now that I have enough space to read things on phone again, I'm a bit irked this does not feature an S-Pen digitizer. Bixby would have potential if it worked... Battery lasts as long as my first Note 7. Listening to music while doing yard work is fine too. BestBuy is great but Samsung has provided little incentive to remain brand-loyal and since I trust BestBuy, I'll be watching the competition very closely.

I previously had a Samsung J7. I know..I know. So, this is definitely a huge upgrade for me! I got this as a open-boxed item, which I was a bit hesitant doing so. Glad I didn't hesitate! Phone looked like someone literally bought this phone and closed the box right back. The price was much cheaper than what my carrier was trying to get me to buy/finance for.The color of this phone is beautiful(coral blue). This phone has a lot of cool features such as the tap selfie mode and how you can just wave your hand right to left to do a screen shot. I only gave it 4 stars due to you can't text videos to others without it looking distorted. Not sure that is a phone issue or provider issue. To be continued..Overall, I love my phone!!

My old phone kicked the bucket so I needed a replacement ASAP. Given the options in early July 2017 and my desired features, it was either the Galaxy S8 or the OnePlus 5. I'm hesitant of Samsung hardware due to past experiences (typically shows low longevity) but OnePlus garners similar concerns. But so far, so good. The screen is fantastic and the camera takes incredible pictures (for a cell phone). Battery life has been impeccable. I went with the S8+ over the S8 because I had a coupon combined with a special offer so the marginal cost was negligible. All you get is a slightly larger screen and ~20 more minutes of battery life.

So far great phone! Meets galaxy expectations. Great camera and loud speaker. Negative slender large size slightly heavier than previous galaxies. Planed to get a 7, spent the extra for the battery and GB. Battery life supposed to be longer than the 8. I get about two days on a charge with average use. More GB, more space but also pre loaded apps seem to use plenty. Overall great purchase thus far.

Coming from a note 4 (couldn't wait for the next one to come out) I was worried I would't like the smaller size or not being able to have a stylus, but I adjusted just fine. Not thrilled about bixby, but just don't use it. Still trying to figure out how to turn off all the tracking devices that come on phones now. Was shocked when it told me what time I was going to bed and waking up in the morning. The camera takes great pictures and love the ability to use manual functions to take more professional pics. Battery life is great, but we will see how that continues as time goes on.

This is hands down the best looking phone hardware to date. The front and back glass curves around the device and makes cracks much more likely if not guaranteed. You should use case with it but that completely renders buying a phone because of good design pointless. Samsung software is Samsung software; it's better than it used to be but that's a very low bar to hurdle. Most of it can be disabled so it isn't much of an issue. I'd only recommend this device to people who respect their property. This phone is delicate and WILL break if not treated so.

Previous iPhone user new to Android phones

I was meaning to shop for a new phone for quite some time now, as I was still using the iPhone 5s. The phone I had prior was an iPhone 4. (Yes, I'm in the prehistoric times in terms of my smartphone.) Having never used an Android phone before, let me start off by saying one of the main reasons I switched over was because I was getting so tired of rigidity and inflexibility of Apple phones. The Android OS offers so many settings and options compared to iOS. I'm able to extend my memory and easily backup/transfer files between my S8+ and desktop PC without going through the tedious and cumbersome iTunes. There are so many ways I can personalize my S8+ to my liking, in a way that I cannot do on an iPhone. Aside from the software, the phone itself is absolutely gorgeous--I chose the Coral Blue paired with a Spigen clear case and it looks amazing. The phone itself does feel a bit fragile as it is glass on both sides, and does not fit into my small hands, but getting a sturdy case (don't cheap out!) and something like a PopSocket or ring grip would be a good idea to protect your investment. I was deciding between the Note 8 or S8+, and I'm glad I chose the S8+ because of the rounded edges, it feels better in my hand.

The screen is beautiful, and the phone is very fast. The camera takes amazing photos out of the box, it also let's you do a manual mode for the DSLR style shots. That's all the good, now for the bad. The fingerprint scanner is in the worst spot ever! If they would have placed it center on the back like the Google branded phones then this phone would be the best work out there. Bixby button is a waste of space, makes no sense and is annoying. Even with the two glaring issues this phone is amazing.

If you are looking for the best android phone then definitely this one. After using two weeks I am writing this review, Prons, 1. Design 2. performance 3. Camera 4. Big Screen with good resolution ( it depends on the usage ) Corns 1. Battery Life. It's not bad, but behind other top phones. Samsung claims this is the top class model so I expected much better battery life than other phones from Samsung.
