I sold my iPad 1 and traded-in a junk tablet as part of a promotion at Best Buy to get this tablet. Ended up paying around $100 for it. Great mid-range tablet. Good for all the basic stuff, browsing the internet, watching videos, sending emails, etc. Pros: -The multi-app split screen feature is very cool. You can split your screen and watch Youtube on one half and send emails on the other. The only drawback is that only a handful of apps can utilize this feature -Cheap accessories for this tablet can be found online -Expandable SD card slot -Pretty fast, no lagging -Good screen size Cons -Screen resolution isn't as good as the Tab S and other high end tablets -No flash on camera, not sure if other tablets have this feature -Samsung bloatware -Camera is average, nothing special -Regular price is a bit high for a tablet that is not top of the line, if you can get a Tab S or something high end for within $50 higher, I would go for that instead.

My wife bought me the Samsung 9.7A tablet with pen for my birthday after I bought one for a gift at our Christmas party. I was so impressed by what the salesman showed me I could do with the tablet that i hinted to my wife that I would like one. I forgot that I had mentioned it to her in passing but she did not so I was surprised to get it. I have been even more surprised how much better it is than I expected. The battery lasts for days even with daily use. It is very easy to use and to setup. It has very quick response on internet searches and the screen is amazing. The only thing I did not like about it was how slipper it was without a case. After I got a case and extra memory it is perfect for me.

I wanted an affordable tablet to carry with me, larger than my old Acer 7" Iconia, but smaller than the larger Samsungs owned by family members. Familiar with the Samsung android applications because of my phone, this 9.7 inch model fits my needs. I purchased a completely guaranteed open-box model and saved more. The S pen function is a plus. The tablet also comes with Microsoft Word making this a useful alternative for work when I am on the road. Bluetooth works well, there is expandable memory, and a Logitech keyboard/case pared easily. I am very pleased with its speed, clear screen, and weight. I would recommend this to anyone who would like a reliable tablet to take along.

Had one of the early Kindle Fire tablets for a few years now and really enjoyed it, but between getting a new job & "over 40" eyes, I needed something bigger & easier to see, aloNg with some office apps. The Galaxy Tab A fit my needs perfectly. It's fast, lightweight & easy to hold/carry. Love it!

This tablet replaced a 1st generation iPad so we had grown up with Apple's way of doing things and found out very quickly there are other ways to do things in the electronic world. Hard to determine yet if the non-Apple ways are better or not but the transition has been challenging at times. I do not feel that I am in control quite the same as I did with my trusty iPad but over time I do think I will figure it out. The reasons we upgraded besides the obvious things of the iPad was so old it was no longer supported, it crashed regularly for no reason while viewing social media, it did not have a camera---you name it there were lots of reasons. Are we glad we upgraded? You bet. Did I mention we did not have a camera on the iPad? Now we cast from the tablet, "Hangout" with friends and family, the wife catches up with friends on the social media sites and doesn't worry about crashing. The image quality is much improved, the lighter weight is also a plus. Maybe an upgrade and some time learning a new operating system is what you need too.

My Samsung Tab A 9.7 has done everything I expected it to do. I am still learning how to use it, but it was easy to get started right out of the box. Even our cats love the apps we have downloaded for them. I have taken it with me to workshops where I recorded notes and took pictures. I am looking forward to discovering more and more uses.

When I purchased this, hands down, Best Buy offered this item (only in Titanium color) for less cost than anywhere else. As for the item itself, the Galaxy Tab A 9.7 came pre-loaded with Android 6.0. It can also be anticipated to receive Android 7.x, too, as Nougat has proven to be easy on resources. While I have not burden the machine's storage of 16GB, nor have I installed an SD card as as of yet, the device proves to be quick and very capable of handling most everything that I've thrown at it. The 1.5GB of memory seems to be sufficient. While this standard HD display has only half the resolution of its more expensive brother, Tab S2, I found watching films to be very rich in color and very pleasing. The video quality easily surpassed my expectations. Worth noting, however, I found that the display's adaptive brightness must be turned off while watching videos, or the picture was nearly always too dark. With the adaptive brightness checkbox left empty, the display could be set to be very bright, even in daylight. This device does have stereo sound, and sound is to be expected from such a small device. For speaker placement, the left and right speakers are located along the bottom edge, as one holds it portrait (vertical) position, so while watching videos in the preferred landscape position, the left and right speakers will be projecting only to either the right or left. For me, this isn't a big deal, as sound quality shouldnt be expected to be much from such a small device. I did find the volume to be more than sufficient. I have yet to have tried out the Bluetooth and NFC for this device. While still a new item for me, battery life has been very good, lasting approximately 2 days, with moderate use, before needing good a charge. The size for me is perfect. There isn't too much bezel on the sides of screen, it's thin and easy to hold, and very lightweight. It does require a case, as the tablet is very slippery to the hands. For $179, I honestly cannot think of a better tablet for the money. Because of such, I returned the following day to Best Buy to make purchase for a second Galaxy Tab A 9.7.

I purchased this tablet to replace an older Samsung and I am really pleased with it. It is fast and easy to operate. I like the fact it has Microsoft Office already built in. It takes good quality pictures and has good sound for a tablet. The storage is plenty for my needs, but it has a place for a MicroSD if I needed more. I would advise that over paying almost double to get one with more storage you might not need. A definite upgrade from my old one, and I liked it! I would recommend this to anyone.

I bought this tablet as an upgrade to replace my original ASUS ePad 1.0. The smaller screen, speed and brightness are great. Plus, it has better audio than the ASUS. I don't think the audio is better than my iPad (it has better bass). On durability: We only had it a week when my son dropped the Samsung about 18" onto a tile floor. It was a glancing fall that cracked the screen. The crack is below the screen line so it doesn't interfere with the display fortunately. It works fine otherwise. Given the Amazon commercials, I think I would evaluate their tablet in hindsight (I like durable).

A more budget friendly tablet with pretty full functionality. Not as smooth as I was hoping with some lag when switching back and forth between some apps and such, but overall, a nice, functional tablet for a good price.

I got the 9.7 Tab A. It is amazing! Very fast, easy, sleek, great look and feel. I can do my work using the installed Microsoft office apps. Use pdf files and also perfect size for reading and watching movies on netflix. Awesome tablet. I just wish I could download flash on it. Use it more than my old laptop at this point. Can even print directly from tablet to wireless printers. Great screen resolution and the battery life is incredible! Speakers are pretty good too. Haven't had an issue at all. Will update after a few weeks.

Never had any issues, used to have an iPad, I do love Apple! This particular item was purchased for online classes because it's easier to carry then a laptop! It comes with so much more stuff that doesn't need to be purchased like Microsoft word and PowerPoint. The screen is just as big as the newest iPad.. Also never had any issues with downloading games and playing them!

This is my second Samsung tablet. My first was the 7 inch Tab which was great, but the battery life started to fade after 2 years. I also wanted a larger screen for playing games and watching video. This is just perfect. Large enough to watch comfortably, but still manageable to carry around. Apps open quickly without delays or glitches, the colors are good and the battery life seems a bit better than my previous Tab.

I love this tablet! The struggle is real when it comes to keeping up with charges in my busy life. I can literally spend all day working on my tablet and still have battery left when I come home. The screen is also fantastic! So clear and large enough for my old, tired eyes. Great product, and I would most definitely recommend!

This is a great tablet. I had started out with a Dell Venue 8, which just didn't cut the mustard. I thought I might have to go over to the dark side and get an iPad, but this Samsung rocks! A ton of performance for the price. Streams You Tube like a champ. I like the Samsung cover case, it folds up and works in plenty of positions. I just need Samsung to make a dedicated keyboard and I can take this in place of laptop on biz trips.
