This model is a favorite of the many I've previously owned.

I had the 8.9 and it was time to up grade to great.

Traded my original nexus 7 (piece of junk) received 100 dollars for it not worth even a dollar, for the galaxy tab A. Love this tablet, perfect size runs smooth and you put on the power mode and the battery goes forever or at least a very long time. Synced with all my Samsung devices and my big Samsung tv. Good deal and a very good tablet. I just have to say that most of the complaints I read about the tablet is the resolution gimme a break already it's way good enough or you must have very poor vision . It's way down my list of what's important as it is more then adequate for reading. Maybe it's me but all the tablets and cell phones are much better then average resolution at this point then you really need!

The Tab A is a very nice tablet, with great screen resolution, a fast processor, and very good battery life. I installed a Samsung 64 GB micro SD card (which happened to be on sale), and have all of the storage I could possibly use for music and picture storage. The camera has good resolution, and while a tablet is large for taking pictures, it's nice to have the capability, without getting bad pictures. I give it two thumbs up.

Easy to program and to use, and it is fast, I like all the preinstalled apps. Priced right, Has a lot of great features and a great camera. Nice to have Microsoft office already installed, this tablet can actually replace our laptop, plus easier to use plus has a good battery life.

The positives : - it is a convenient size, 9.7" screen; big enough to make most tasks and browsing easy and yet small enough to be carried conveniently. Any larger, and might as well carry a laptop around ( only because current laptops have 1TB of HDD, more USB ports and a larger battery with more weight of course !!) . - a screen that has very acceptable resolution,1024 x 768 XGA, for most tasks, a wide viewing angle and good anti-reflection characteristics. - good general purpose camera for everyday use; if in need of better quality take your DSLR along. - came with Microsoft WORD, EXCEL and POWERPOINT. - has a plethora of APPS available via the Android network. - has internal 16GB storage and can very conveniently increase storage by adding a micro-SD card. - easily couples to a Bluetooth keyboard when required. - about half the price of the leading competitor product. The negatives : - none.

Works very well. I have a note 3 and this tablet is comparable. The resolution is not as good as the galaxy tab s2 but videos and pictures still are crisp and the speakers are very good. You will notice the difference when you are reading text. I suggest you play with the tablet in best buy to see if you are comfortable with reading text. It is fine for me but it is not as sharp as the galaxy tab s2. I was surprised the camera worked very well even in low light. The spen works just like any other note phone or tablet. The battery life is awsome. At this moment my tab a has 67% battery left. I charged it last 13 hours ago with 6 hours of screen on time and some Internet use and snote use. I use it mostly for studying and Internet. Overall it is a wonderful tablet.

I bought this tablet, my first one, for its camera and the internet. I had read that the camera was very good, and it hasn't disappointed. I really like this tablets compact size. It was a little challenging at first trying to navigate, since I had not used an android OS before, but I got used to it in a short time. It seems to have very good battery life. Samsung just makes great products.

I bought this tablet because it is a problem to work with letter size documents with the small screen of myTab 3 woth android 4.3. Now I feel confortable with the bigger screen of my Tab A but also with android 6 that covers the requirements of more apps like the include Microsoft Office. This MS Office go well with basic docs but not wirh complex docs with macros, that's why I installed in my Tablet A other apps to solve that limitations. The Galaxy Tab A is fast enough, long lasting battery, low weight, I can can take it and work with my docs everywhere. In places where there isn't wi-fi I use phone's hot spot to stay connected everywhere with my tab A to work and have fun watching movies, videos or playing games or listening music.

Looked all over for a way to take notes on a tablet, including ordering an active stylus for existing tablets. Stylus needed hard to find AAAA batteries and failed after a couple months. The S=Pen is great, because it works like a physical writing instrument, and has "palm rejection" which means that it doesn't confuse your resting palm with writing. Typically, I am very happy with Samsung products, and have three of their tablets, this one, a Nook Tab E and a 7 inch Tab 3. Battery life is awesome on all

This tablet is amazing . . . it loads quickly, functions smoothly, and is easy to operate. Great size for web surfing, reading e-mail, and reading books when traveling. SideSync lets me sync with my S7 Edge smartphone and text on my tablet rather than on the phone. Expandable memory with a microSD card is a plus and battery life is good. And there's an S Pen!

I'm very happy with this tablet. The size is great-9.7" and the addition of the stylus is very helpful, as I'm an artist and sometimes it's nice to be able to sketch something on the run to use later. The camera is excellent. I can't think of a thing I'd change. This is my first Android, so there has been a bit of a learning curve,but it's not hard.

I bought this tablet when I found out about the Best Buy trade in program. I'm not disappointed. The performance is excellent. The screen is bright and clear. I really like the side-by-side window feature. The battery life is excellent. I'm even going to buy another in the smaller 8" size.

Very clear screen, easy to use, nice weight. It has a good feel about it. It has enough weight to feel substantive and the finish is tight and clean. It is decently fast for everyday use. The camera is very clean and sharp. It would be tough to beat at this price.

I like Android and I like Samsung so when I wanted a phone I bought a Note 3 then 4 then 5. When I wanted a tablet I bought a Tab 8 which is small and nice but I found myself using it more and more in place of a laptop and I decided a larger one was in order... So I bought the Tab A 9.7 and am glad that I did. This is of course a large cell phone but the size gives you the option of some new uses, things that you would not like on your phone you will love on the Tab A because it is large enough to make them comfortable for you. The screen is great both in size and in definition. Battery life is more than a day. Everything about it works exactly as you would expect it to. It is a very high quality product. Buy a case, a memory card and some bluetooth around the neck headphones and you won't regret it. I also bought a small stand that holds four devices and charges them which really cleaned up the table by my recliner and pleased my wife. Tablets seem to be a must have even if you have a desktop and a laptop like I do, if you have not jumped in and are an Android lover this is the way to do it.

Great screen display, good sound, great speed, easy to use, light weight, good price

I got this tablet for Christmas and I love it, takes great picture's, very fast no glitches great for reading on or just playing games overall a GREAT product.

I was quite surprised by the quality versus the size. We purchased this to replace a tablet 10.1 and found that it fit nicely in the case we had for the 10.1. It functions exactly the same as the larger tablet but of course it replaced an older one. It proved to be much faster and just as easy to use.

I went into Best Buy pretty much thinking I was going to buy the new Samsung S2 tablet, but it was a bit of a stretch price-wise for me. The salesperson suggested the TabA, especially since I am not a gamer and would not be using the tablet for high-end graphics. I went with her suggestion and I am thrilled I did. The resolution is good - it is not outstanding, but if you're using the tablet mainly for ebooks, web browsing, and simple documents, it is perfect. I bought it mainly because I travel often for work - I also bought a Bluetooth keyboard, and the whole thing is so much easier to travel with than a laptop! I can work on my Word files and Excel spreadsheets, read my books, browse the web, and even watch Netflix in the hotels, and the Tab A is absolutely perfect. I also used the camera to take pictures out of the airplane window for my kids, and I was very impressed with the quality - just as good, if not better, than the camera on my phone. Overall, this is a perfect purchase for me, and I couldn't be happier.
