I'm told it is unlocked from the factory but haven't tested that assertion. I am currently using the tablet with just wi-fi as I only intend to use the 4g when travelling. The battery life is better than I expected but I'm not playing movies constantly either. By the way if you want a screen protector I would not buy the BodyGuardz. It is a great screen protector but you must line up the protector perfectly the FIRST time and do not try to peel it back or reposition it because it will leave a gap underneath if you do. I don't see this though when I'm using the tablet. I wish we could order the BodyGuardz already installed.

The improved graphics and increazsed speed is going to be perfect.
