    Awesome Smartwatch

I had the Gear Fit before and wanted something a little more techy. The screen is large and I really like it, but someone who has small wrists may not like how big it is. I have had it for about 2 months now and have not had any issues with it. I mainly use it to respond to text messages without pulling my phone out of my backpack or pocket and as a pedometer. It is not 100% accurate as a pedometer but does the job nicely. So far, I really like it and wear it daily. The battery typically lasts 2-3 days and charges in just a few hours which is really nice.

I have had every single Samsung watch gear and this is my favorite. The new watch is really light and stylish. This new watch feels like the Galaxy gear fit really comfortable. The Super amoled of the screen looks great and I suggest not getting the contract as your watch could feed from your phone internet.

Pros: Better than any other smartwatch including the gear s2 3g. I like the screensize and can actually type on it. I just wish it was thinner. Love the standalone feature as well as a companion device. Cons: Thick Battery life

Samsung Gear S - It's all in the wrist!

Having had a few Smartwatches in my day, I was very interested in the Gear S. I was attracted to the ability to use it as a handsfree while driving. I am a Baby Boomer and I love Dick Tracy's wrist radio. For you younger readers, look him up. While the device ( I hesitate to call it a watch ) is fairly large, it looks good on my wrist. I am 6'3" so there was no size issue. The display is clean and clear, the colors are nice and visibility outdoors is not bad with the brightness cranked up. I have replaced the plastic band with a black stainless steel offering that classes up the look a bit. Unfortunately there are still large black plastic areas at the top and bottom edges of the device. Now, depending on your carrier ( I have AT&T ) you may or may not be able to forward your incoming calls to the Gear S. I had an issue with AT&T in some areas, and a newer build of Lollipop, failing to allow setting the option to forward all calls if unanswered. I got NETWORK SIM CARD ERROR. No fault of Samsung. The watch has a nicer interface than the Android Wear based Zen Watch. Yes I have that too. The functionality is better as well with the ability to compose emails and texts, surf the web with the Opera Mini Browser. All in all a useful device. If you are on the go like me and get many messages and emails during the day, the Smartwatch, almost any Smartwatch allows you to see the alert and decide if its worthy of digging out your phone. The Gear S goes above and beyond the competition.

Received this as a gift. It does way more than I expected. I can make calls via bluetooth. It plays music and keeps track of my steps, heart rate, etc. The only thing is that it is associated with ATT and my carrier is T-mobile so I cant get a SIM card unless they unlock the cell.

I LOVE this Smart Watch! When I first saw the Samsung Gear S I knew that I had to have it! I searched all over and couldn't find it brand new anywhere; except BestBuy.com. The representatives at Best Buy helped me to order it and it was truly a seamless process! I'm glad that I went to Best Buy; because I now have the Smart Watch of my dreams. It not only tells time; but I get my messages, S Health, my favorite apps, the weather, etc. What I love most about it is the Qwerty Keyboard is actually big enough for me to type text messages accurately on. My phone rings while I'm driving, no worries. I answer it with my Gear S and speak on speaker phone using my blue tooth. I might put it on a plan later on; but for right now, it's doing everything that I need it to do.

I love this watch for many reasons. #1 Sleek design #2 Larger screen than its predecessors, gear 1 and 2. #3 The battery life is very good. I can wear the watch all day for 2 to 3 days without having to charge it. There are many new features that are fantastic, such as the GPS feature. This feature allows you to use a running app and us the watch to track time and distance you have run. LOVE IT!! The one drawback to this watch versus the Gear 1 and 2 is the lack of a camera. Not that having a camera is the most important thing, it was just very cool snapping photos on the sly. Other than that, I love the phone!!

This watch is great! I It does everything you need it to do. It gives you email, sms, calls, and other notifications. The speaker quality is very good on phone calls. I had the Apple watch and this one is a lot better. The Bluetooth range is also better then the Apple watch. This is not me killing the Apple watch, just comparing it to each other. I would recommend this watch over most Android watches. I wish it worked with other Android phones but unfortunately it only works with Samsung phones.

The Samsung Gear S is an awesome piece of technology. The curved screen is just awesome and perils anything else on the market. At first I wasn't going to use it to make calls but when playing around with it and testing it out, it's pretty cool. The fact you can tether it to your phone and not have the SIM card is a big help. Only con is I wish Samsung had a little more watch faces you could customize, so hope there is more coming. I know there are apps but I didn't like them. But over all it's an awesome watch and I have had many people come up to me and want to know what it is and play with it.

What can I say but this has to be the best watch on the market.,, even now 2016! Why? 1. "You can text" it has a keyboard may be small but I have no problems using it and I'm a big guy ;) these new watches have the speak text or quick reply no keyboard:( 2. plus you also get speak text with this watch. It's a no brainer!! 2. It has its own sim card slot 3. The size of the screen 4. Battery life 5. It has the same 512 ram and 4gb of storage as the new s2 6. More apps 7. Resolution is better than anything out there now. Need I say more just buy it you won't be disappointed!!

I own the original Gear watch. When I bought this new watch it was because I was hoping to utilize the Nike+ app on it. I've been a bit underwhelmed with it as it's been quirky. Aside from that there's not too much more I can do with it. It's a nice looking watch and I enjoy wearing it. The cost alone versus an I watch is enough to consider it but unless you get a second data plan for it then you have limited use. Feel so so overall with the watch. I think they need to have more apps for the watch before I would consider it as a replacement for my phone. Technology with Samsung isn't quite there.

This SmartWatch has almost all the functionality I was looking for. The only thing more I could ask for would be a website (ala Fitbit), but hopefully someday Samsung will get on the ball. Then it will be perfect. I love the sleep tracking function and was not willing to give that up, which is why I would not move "up" to the newest generation model when I bought this one. I do not use the separate line capability, just connect with Bluetooth. The built in speaker and microphone still allow me to use my watch as a phone when my actual phone is across the house and I need to answer that call. For these and MANY more reasons this is the PERFECT watch for me. That's why I bought one for my husband for Christmas, too!

I absolutely love my watch. I took a star off because I have trouble getting rid of voicemail notifications on the watch. The only other this I am a little displeased with is the band has already gotten some discoloration. It appears to have a faint blue tint on the edges where I have brushed my wrist on my jeans. The white is very nice but I don't know how to clean this type of material. Other than that.. it is a great product. I have had it for over a month and it works great. Sound quality is good/ Response time good/ Weight not bad/ Comfort Good/

I do not have ATT phone service. It was the only gear S they had so I bought it for the blue tooth which work really good. Switching from screen to screen can be tedious at times. The volume for the phone is hard to hear even when turned all the way up. The find my phone or watch app on the watch is excellent and setting your screen saver is nice.

I love this watch. Totally bought it to know when my main phone would ring or text because I just didnt carry the phone around when home. With all the cool features I've found myself counting steps monitoring my heart and watching the weather. Cant wait for Halloween, I'm going as Dick Tracy

Low quality construction, strap broke in first 2 m

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I have had the watch for just 2 months and the strap fell apart. The strap did not brake due to misuse, the rivets simply fell out and now the strap will not stay connected to the metal connector. I called Samsung support and they said that it would cost $250 to fix the phone if I sent it to them, or I could just buy a new strap on the net. I requested to speak to the manager and the manager said the same thing. I tried to reason with the manager that a $600 watch should not break in the first 2 months, and if it does, Samsung should replace the strap for free. I explained to the manager that a bad review was not worth the $25 (retail) that the strap would cost to replace, but he was having none of it. So here is my bad review. It is one thing to make a bad product, but it is even worse not to correct the problem when it costs so little.
