The ring that turns fell off. My grandson who I bought it for is in the Army and overseas, so can't get it back to have fixed.

It looks great but drains your battery a lot quicker. Not easy to text but convenient if you are far away from your phone a lot.

Not worth the price tag for what it did. Had an earlier version and took it back. Need to get real on the value of these products.

I've had the watch for a couple weeks now. Still deciding was worth it. Use the activity tracker and text notifications only.

The watch is not bad. The apple watch is a lot nicer though. I returned this and got on the apple watch. Much happier.

Wished I had research more and noticed you can not talk through the watch like the apple watch. Overall a nice watch.

Great if you have At&t as a carrier. None of the other cell phone companies support calls over smart watches.

    Innovative!

I purchased this watch the day it was released. I love finish of the metal. I read somewhere that they coat the exterior in a black ceramic. The bezel action is ingenious! I love that apps are a turn to the right and notifications are a turn to the left. The first turn to the right, has an apps button. The first item in that button is to close recent apps. I really like that as well. I don’t care for the leather band. I prefer bands that don’t have buckles and I don’t like it when leather gets creases. I wish Samsung would release more bands preferably matching metal or ceramic bands for the classic watch. My battery lasts almost a full 4 days on a single charge. That’s a fantastic battery life in my opinion! The fastest way to type is by voice and it’s fairly accurate. The default keyboard is like the one that is in non-smart phones. Once a person gets used to it, it can be quick. There is also a rotating alphabet keyboard. It’s gimmicky, but fun to play with. It seems to be the least efficient keyboard. Some of the apps work great, and some of the ones from the app store don’t work. The music controls work for any music app that is currently running on the phone. I am looking forward to more working apps in the store. I wish Google now were available on this device as I am not as comfortable saying “go to the internet to see what the score for…” Rather than to say “what’s the score for…” S voice is much better than in the past, however it doesn’t do a good job at recognizing proper names when I’m trying to call someone. I tested the heart rate app next to a tracker I currently own. The heart rate was within a beat of each other. I wish there was an available setting to where we could select the interval for the auto check. I would like to set it to be more frequent. The steps I believe are more accurate on the S2 as my other tracker also recognizes arm movements as steps. I do wish it would also recognize the sleep rather than it being manually input on the S Health app. It can be done as my other tracker does it nicely. Samsung would do it a great service by updating a few features and also apps. I know I’ve mentioned a few things that I believe it can do better, but all in all, I love this watch. It’s a great, innovative device with a fantastic battery.

    Falls apart

It's a pretty watch, but is lacking in substance. I have used the Samsung Gear S 2 for slightly over a year. The bezel fell off, it was under warranty and I was able to ship it back to have it repaired. Frustrating to be without a watch, and to have to spend the time arranging the repair and shipping the watch, but it was fixed. Now the back of the watch has fallen off, while I was wearing it. It has never been submerged, or had rough use, the adhesive failed both times. After contacting Samsung three times, I've been told that because it is 12 days out of Warranty I will need to pay $70 to have it repaired. It doesn't seem to matter that the adhesive failed both times. I tried to post a review on the Samsung Website, and the link to confirm the review was invalid...

I was very disappointed with this device. When paired with my Galaxy S7 Edge, the watch would lose connectivity and would require turning off the watch and phone before I could re connect. It would seem like Samsung could do a better job with assuring compatibility of devices that it manufactures. Also battery life was less than 24 hours between charges.

Battery life awful. Didn't keep time consistently. Does poorly with sleep.. Very expensive for what you don't get. Staff tried hard to make things right, but they couldn't fix the product. When it works - it will be great.

    Liking it so far

Have been using the Gear S2 for about a week. So far, it is fulfilling my needs and wants without a glitch. I got the Classic. I love the look and feel. Very comfortable on my wrist, just like an ordinary watch. I originally purchased a Fitbit Surge, but the face was just not bright enough for me (not to mention its almost ugly). The brightness of the Gear S2 can be adjusted to whatever I want. A very sharp and clear display. Any problems I have had with the watch have been user error. At first, I thought I had to either have the face on 24/7, or only when I turned my wrist. I didn't like that; talked to the Samsung rep and learned how to set the watch to turn the face on only when I push the button. Love that. I have read reviews complaining about the speak to text feature. I have no complaints. I use it to compose text messages and it works very well for me. I have also read complaints about the heart rate (HR) monitor. There are two settings for the monitor. One for when you are at rest, and one for exercising. I found out today that the at rest monitor setting is VERY inaccurate if you try to use it while exercising. When used property (at rest setting when at rest, and exercise setting when exercising - duh.) I find it to be accurate enough for my needs. Within 3 or 4 (or less) bpm as compared to manual checking. I also compared it today to the monitor on the treadmill at the club. Within 2 or 3 (or less) bpm. Regarding the exercise settings, I have just used the "walking" mode. I was quite surprised today when I used the walking setting while using the treadmill. The treadmill read 0.50 mile, and the Gear S2 read 0.49 mile. I have no idea how the Gear S2 got that right. I mean, I was walking in place on the treadmill (i.e., no gps going over land). I had entered my personal profile in the "S Health" settings, but there is no entry for length of stride. It is a mystery to me how it was so accurate, but I'm not complaining. Ah, I just thought of something. When I go on long walks, I sync the Gear S2 with my phone and the S Health app on my phone uses the phone GPS. My guess is that the Gear S2 learned by stride length that way (counted my strides over time, divided strides into GPS length, and got stride length.) Now, the step counter. I have "tested" it several times by walking 100 steps and then checking it. Always within a step or two. With that said, I have noticed that the steps do not always register instantly (i.e., if looking at the face while walking, you do not see each step ticking off), but they do register periodically, apparently from an internal counter. I love how the watch vibrates whenever I get a text message and when the phone rings. I often don't hear my phone when it is in my pocket, so the alert on the watch is very helpful, not to mention that I can then simply glance at the watch to see if the message or call warrants me grabbing my phone. I have read complaints about not enough apps. I couldn't care less. It has all i need and want. Battery life - I will be charging the watch every night most likely, just like my phone. Battery is enough for my daily use. I love the fact that Best Buy gives me two weeks to return this. I still have a week to go to fully make up my mind, but so far it is looking like this is a keeper. BTW, 4 stars instead of 5 simply because I haven't used it long enough to be sure there isn't something to complain about.
