    band quality is horrible

I purchased the rose gold after purchasing the black classic for my husband a month ago. I have only had it for 1 week and the band already looks like it needs to be replaced. The brown suede from the bottom of the band turns the ivory color to appear dirty and it can't be cleaned. My husband wears his watch to work every day, and his band still looks brand new. I would strongly recommend purchasing an extra band for daily use, and using the band that came with it as needed. Other than that, the watch is great so far.

    Best Yet

I have owned a lot of smart watches, starting from the pebble and this is the first one that really has the look and feel of a watch. No compromises because of the tech. Even though there aren't a lot of apps for it yet, it does pretty much everything I have looked to my smart watches to do for me. At the end of the day, it's a piece of functional jewelry and it looks awesome.

Smart "watch" not a watch at all.

I liked the design and concept. I was willing to overlook the fact that I could not answer the phone using only my watch like I can with my Gear Neo. That was until I left my phone at home and found out that the "watch" would only function as a watch if it was synced with the phone. That makes this device unacceptable in my opinion. It is a pretty device but it has lost a lot of functionality in comparison to my Neo.

    Excellent watch!

I have owned just about every smart watch and fitness tracker there is. The Gear S2 ranks very highly on that list! Before this I owned an Apple watch. The screen cracked very easily on it and I didn't want to pay $200 to get it fixed. So I sold it, and got the Gear 2. It looks a lot better, and functions a lot better too! ...and if you know what you are doing, you can get it to work with an iPhone and get most of the sam functionality you'd get with an Android phone. There aren't a lot of apps for it yet...but if you just want a simple watch that looks good, will send all of your notifications to your wrist, do simple fitness tracking, and not empty your wallet...look no further!

Rose Gold Color is not accurate.

I went into the store with every intention to purchase this watch in Rose Gold. I loved the pinkish color it shows in the photo online. I was highly disappointed to find in the store that the Rose Gold is actually a tarnished, antique gold look and doesn't look a thing like the photo online. Had I ordered online I would have been very mad to receive this watch in a dirty gold color. I decided to go for the black instead and I love the watch! Besides the color this is a great product. (I know the color isn't Best Buy's fault, but I wanted to warn potential online buyers that the photo isn't accurate.)

Not impressed on day 2 of ownership

I received the Classic in the mail yesterday. I followed the setup instructions and was off and running. I was very excited. It is a very attractive watch. I couldn't wait to explore it. My hopes of great functionallity were quickly dashed as I sat and noodled around with the watch. Gear apps are rather dreadful. I own a 64 gig Galaxy S6. I originally used the default music player. I have about 50 gigs of music on the phone. The shuffle feature sucked. I found Shuttle music player app. Good app. Much better shuffle. No Gear apps allow me to control my music library as is. I looked for a Gear app to do this. They are all so poorly rated. There may have been a handful of apps with 4 star reviews. The majority of all the apps offered are much less than 4 stars and there is something about the whole Samsung and Gear apps that make me suspicious and untrusting. This made me start to worry about the usefullness of the watch. So now the music player in the watch only plays the 3 Samsung songs located I don't know where. Plus, it won't activate the phone speaker to play the songs, it must be connected to a bluetooth listening device. I love my music and the watch has not made it easier to control the music on my phone. But maybe that is my ignorance being a brand new user. I figured in the next day or two I could take it to the Samsung guys at Best Buy and maybe they could help me out. Next problem. Pedometer is not too accurate. Day 2 I walked, in a round about way, from my car to my desk in my office. I counted 521 steps (the route include stairways). Watch counted 547. Not too impressed. Did the same thing when I originally got my phone and discovered S-Health app. The count was like one or two steps off. Impressed. So far two important features are unacceptable. Next problem, I noodled with it last night and put it on the charger before going to bed, around 10:30pm. I woke up at 5:30am all excited to continue exploring the watch. The battery was at 68%. I thought, well maybe I put it on the cradle wrong. My bad. So after playing around for a short while (battery was down to 56%), I put it back on the charger until it was time to leave for work at 7:45am. When I left it was up to 70%. I figured, based on the reviews for battery life, that should last most if not all day. I am writing this review at 9:30am and the battery is down to 8%. The display is NOT set to "always on" and the brightness is set to 6. Bunk battery. I really wanted to love this watch, but the watch doesn't want me to love it. I am going to try charging it again later and see if this happens again tomorrow. If so, it's going back and I am not sure if I will pick up another one. It seems like some people have received defective watches, while some have excellently functioning watches. I got one that is defective. Maybe the second time will be the charm. Maybe not. FYI, i am finishing this review at 9:42am and the watch is on battery save and the battery is showing 1%. SOAB!

Very Cool, but I Sorta Miss My Gear Fit

    Posted .

After practically swearing the Gear Fit had everything I needed, I upgraded to the Gear S2 Classic. I love the new-to-me features in this product! It paired easily with my phone and Bluetooth headphones. I don't think I had to do anything to get it to connect with my known Wi-Fi networks. Overall, this product is fun; I really enjoy using it. The bezel is everything. I've always thought S Health was a nearly perfect fitness partner. So, I chiefly purchased the S2 to work with S Health. It does that very well. I like that it randomly tracks your heart rate and creates a dashboard of your activity levels. Some of the S Health partner apps, like Hydro Coach Pro, work nicely with the S2. My two biggest disappointments from an S Health perspective, are the inability to pause the pedometer or track sleep. The Gear Fit spoiled me with these features and I'm finding it hard to do without them -- especially pausing the pedometer. Here's why: I try to get 10,000 steps as part of my daily activities. Any time spent exercising, I track separately and I'm not at all concerned about the steps I get when working out. I track exercise by time, not steps. Without the ability to pause the pedometer, it's double counting the exercise as time and steps. I could track the steps before and after an exercise session and subtract the difference, but for $300, I shouldn't have to.As an alternative to pausing the pedometer, I would be happy if the daily activity dashboard tracked both steps and minutes at each activity level. Right now, it tracks just time. For all Samsung smartwatches/S Health, it would be great if there was integration with Weight Watchers. Garmin and Fitbit are able to do so. Why not Samsung Gear? The ability to connect it directly to Bluetooth headphones is so awesome! It makes working out so much easier. The music app is pretty basic, but easy to navigate because of the bezel. As far as I can tell, you can create a favorites playlist. I really wish you could create multiple playlists. The customizable watch faces are an added bonus. I've downloaded several. It would be nice to see more options that included the step counter. NHL and the NBA have watchfaces. Where's the NFL? I expected to see more apps and widgets designed for the S2. The notifications from the phone apps are sufficing for now. I'm eagerly awaiting Samsung Pay integration. Charging is a quick breeze. I don't use the wake-up gesture, so when I get home from work, I have plenty of battery power left. I charge it in the morning while I shower and a little at night while I surf the web. I've found that the watch does get warm while charging.

It has been the best wearable tech I purchased. I love the fact I can use any band with the classic instead of using proprietary band. I am a fan of the leather and the fact it is actual leather instead of cheap pleather.

I was waiting and waiting for this watch to come out and was so excited when I finally got it however one huge problem its tiny! I'm a man this watch is made for a woman! There is nothing wrong with this watch it has all the features you can need beautiful display and a cool way to work the watch with its click to function bezel. But back to the store it went because its sized for a woman! PLEASE Samsung make a manly size so I can buy it again please please. EVERY other manufacturer seems to be making different sizes in this 2015 smart watch showdown. FEELING TOTALLY BUMMED OUT!

Within two days of the purchase, I am already enjoying the Gear S2 Classic Platinum and not disappointed with the decision. I was amazed at the simplicity of operating it and how quickly I was able to pair with my Galaxy S7 Edge phone. Being on the go a lot, it makes it a lot easier to check messages/emails without having to pull my phone out until I am in a convenient location. I highly recommend it.

I received this as a gift, and at first i was O' cool. But then i started "playing" with it. WOW, I am just amazed on how much you can do, and how easy it is. The band is very comfortable, but there are many you can buy online. I think this perfect for Medium to Large wrists. The watch is VERY customize-able, so much you can edit. Now some features stuff. Texting...Yep its possible, you can receive a text on the watch, reply to you it, in 3 different ways. 1) use your finger to write each letter of the word, 2) Use your voice, 3) Use an old cell phone style keypad. When you choose audio you can then choose to send it as a text or an audio clip (pretty neat). Answering calls, it opens the call on the phone, I there is no speaker on the watch for you. 100's of watch face's to download, and lots of them are customize-able so you can see, weather, steps, battery life of phone or watch. Some apps, such as facebook, twitter, snapchat will notify you but it opens it on the phone, you just tap the "Show on Phone". The steps counter has been within 1%-4% correct each time i have tested. The Map app will open google maps on your watch. Find my phone find my watch apps are nice for those that cant find where they left it 2 minutes ago. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a smart phone that works hand and hand with their Samsung Galaxy S phones.

In the grand scheme of things do we really need smart watches...probably not. But overall I like my watch. It's convenient when I just need to send a quick ok or check a message when I'm in the middle of something. Will be helpful when I start working out again..but I like that it looks like a regular watch..ppl r shocked when they see it's a smart watch.

Read if you have a NON SAMSUNG PHONE!

I spent a lot of time researching smartwatches before I made my purchase of the Samsung Gear S2 Classic. I have a Motorola Droid Turbo, and I couldn't find any reviews stating that users were having problems with this watch being connected to a Motorola phone. I found out today from Samsung Technical Support that unless you have a Samsung phone, you can expect to have terrible battery drain on your phone when the watch is connected. I really like the watch, but unfortunately I have to return it because I can't deal with my battery on my phone draining after just 3 hours. The only solution is to disconnect the watch from the bluetooth connection on the phone, and that eliminates the sole purpose for my having the watch.

I bought this for my wife because the S3 is too big for her. She loves it, however, the only downside she has is the lack of the speaker. You can "answer" the calls from your watch but you will require to take the phone out of your pocket and speak through the phone which despite the purpose of this feature of the watch.
