awesome watch if there were more apps it would deffinately get 5 stars, i bought my wife the white with silver gear s2, loved hers so much i had to buy my own, i get alot of complements on the look of my watch, had a few people tell me it reminded them of the dick tracy watch, never saw the use of it having a speaker on it (kinda weird to be talking into a watch and having random people listening to my conversation) again the apps are limited but im content with the apps it does have, would love to see s voice work better or maybe like google voice app

    Outstanding Watch

Better watch than I was expecting! So I bought this watch as a reward to myself for getting a promotion. I am very picky when it comes to splurging on an expensive product so it took me awhile to decide on getting one. I couldn't be happier with this watch! The apps are a bit limited but they include useful ones such as a messaging app (you can send messages via the watch), heart monitor, step counter, call history, event reminders, weather, music player, and my fave so far the watch face app. It doesn't have a speaker or a mic so there's no talking into it like Ethan Hunt (although you'll feel like an agent with it on :) ) This particular model is a nice sturdy, quality feel and you can even customize it with any 20 mm wrist band. ( i recommend the MODAL steel wristband Best Buy sells). Lastly, it's weird to say this but the watch actually has given me confidence (it's a wonderful conversation starter) and it has a luxury look to it. Pros: Convenient access to phone notifications, watch faces are highly customizable. Cons: no mic, no speaker, pricey (but worth it !!!)

    Does What It Says

While not fantastic, this watch does exactly what it says it does. You can choose which apps notify and which don't, the Samsung Health app works incredibly well (I'm really pleased with it), I can respond to texts & WhatsApp messages, and I love that many Samsung apps work flawlessly with it. I do wish more apps were compatible, but my main grievance is that I can't make phone calls with it. I can press "call," but it sends it to my phone and I have to use my phone for the call. I know that with the 3G version you can make calls, but they should include that option with this one too. However, I knew that before buying the watch, so it wasn't a disappointment. All in all, a good watch for someone who doesn't need a phone on their wrist, but merely a helpful tool to help facilitate communication with the phone and its notifications.

I bought the Neo 2 when it came out and have worn it for 18 months. So when the S2 came out I really wanted something that was better. And that is exactly what the S2 is. It is easier to read text, email and so much better looking. This watch just feels right. The circle crown makes navigation a simple and natural function.

    Nice looking smartwatch

I received my Rose Gold Gear S2 Classic as a gift for Christmas and have been playing with it ever since. It was fairly easy to set up and looks to be nicely made. I did view some Youtube videos about the set up and features which was quicker than reading the entire online manual plus you pick up on a few tips and tricks about it. I love the Rose Gold color which is much more feminine looking. A lot of smartwatches are so big and clunky and look like they are made for a man. It came with 2 sizes of straps which was nice since I have a small wrist. The Rose Gold S2 Classic does not come in a 3G version and is not available at wireless carriers. Only the regular S2 with the rubber strap and the S2 Classic with the black band and silver bezel may be bought at certain carriers such as Verizon. Which I was a little disappointed about until after a little research I found out for example on Verizon if you already have a wireless plan it will cost you $20 to activate the 3G version and another $5.00/mo added to your wireless bill. Not too mention if you want additional protection it is about $11.00/mo for that as well. The version I received does everything that the 3G version does except it doesn't have an external speaker for answering calls or GPS. I do feel Samsung should have added an external speaker so that you could at least answer your phone via bluetooth through the watch. I can still answer a call if I have my bluetooth headset paired to my phone. I tested this while doing laundry downstairs and left my phone upstairs. When my watch showed I had a call I just slid it to answer and was able to talk via my bluetooth headphones paired to my phone. You can also pair your bluetooth headset with your watch and listen to music you have loaded onto your phone while out for a run or walk. (it has 4GB of internal storage) I have noticed though that it is a little difficult to text especially using the T9 keyboard and or the handwriting function. The easiest way is to use the S Voice text to speech which seems to work fairly well. I have been receiving all of my notifications so far and I've actually turned some of the app notifications off as my watch was vibrating quite a bit. There is a Do not disturb function you can use to turn off notifications on your watch such as if you're in a meeting or you wear it to bed to track your sleep. I tried it last night and it worked perfectly. Although be sure to turn the wake up gesture in settings off so that every time you move your wrist your phone doesn't light up like a lamp in your face. You can just turn back on your notifications and the wake up gesture when you get up. Don't worry alarms still work even if you have the do not disturb function on. The Tizen OS isn't the greatest and there aren't a lot of apps available but overall I seem to like the watch so far.

I initially bought the Samsung Gear S2 Classic Smartwatch on a whim, but have thoroughly enjoyed it. It packs in a load of features, while not being too bulky. It has a nice sleek design and a comfortable leather band. Out of the box, it's incredibly easy to ooperate and can be mastered with a small amount of time spent using it. So far I have loved it as a great accessory to track my runs, a quick way to change songs playing on Pandora when my phone isn't nearby, and quickly responding to texts and emails. That in itself is easy as well as the keyboard is very responsive. My only real negative so far is that there have been a lack of developed apps for the watch. And while that will hopefully come, it's the only reason I can't give it a perfect grade.

In the medical profession, there are often times I cannot use my hands to reach for my phone. This is where the Samsung Gear S2 excels, I will never miss a call, text, or summon. This is incredibly useful as I need to be in specific places at a moment's notice. However, the use of the Gear S2 is just that, a fancy text or call. The apps are limited now and I'm not certain what else I can use the smart watch for. The feel, look, and responsiveness of the screen is great. All my colleagues love pushing buttons and rotating the bezel. If I had a the choice, i would purchase this item again.

I LOVE the design. Looks and feels like a regular watch. I recommend this watch for someone that wants a classy style with little [visual] noise around people. I wish (and hope) Google provide apps for the watch. And maybe more keyboard options.

This wearable meets my (Senior Citizen) needs as expected. As noted in reviews by others, there is a slight time lag with the correct time appearing from previous display. Free watch faces are plentiful enough to find the ones you like. I don't use every app that come loaded, but the ones I prefer are functional. The one app that I still cannot get to work yet is the email, but that is of no real importance to me. The rotating bezel makes app selection easy, and you still have the option to swipe. A main reason for picking this is the 40 mm face, as I think anything larger on my wrist would look over-sized. This watch has a real feel weight to it. The display is large enough for me to read without putting on my reading glasses. The leather band provided is ok, but I purchased an after-market band to suite my tastes. Battery life is about 48 hours for me, but to attain that, I have a dark watch face (Watch faces that are bright eat up the battery life). I also do not have the watch face "always on" and have it set for about 50% brightness. As I use the watch for my alarm clock in the morning, I turn off "notifications" so incoming texts and phone calls do not buzz and wake me during the night. Charge time is around 2 hours from about 12% left. My primary usage is that of a watch, and then to see who's calling or texting so I don't have to immediately drag the phone off my belt clip . Initial set-up was easy after downloading the Gear app on my Samsung S4. As the Gear S3 is now available, the pricing of the S2 should make it an appealing buy.

I really love this watch it makes the iwatch look like a bulky piece of junk samsung really made a excellent watch this time around it actually looks like a real watch not some plastic junk I really like how you can change the bands to any standard 20mm watch bands I purchased the black stainless for mine at Amazon and it looks great it even comes with a real leather band not some cheap imitation pleather I also like that it can be charged Wireless with the supplied charging cradle my only gripe is that it does not have a lot of apps available for it yet but it does have many watch faces you can customize to I really recommend this watch to anyone I love it

My wife and daughter got this for me for Christmas because they were tired of me not seeing their texts during the day. I wasn't sure I would like it at first, but I've really grown attached to it. It looks much better than most of the other Bluetooth watches, and the rotating bezel makes it easy to move between widgets and to respond to text messages with messages that you set up on your phone. I've received a lot of compliments on it at the office, and many of my Android carrying friends are now looking at them as well.

I love this smart watch it looks great with anything and the screen is beautiful. The only down side it with it is it doesn't have that many app support but sense I have had it for a month now I have seen more and more apps been added to the gear app store so from the looks of it that's not going to be a problem soon. Have to hand it to samsung for there innovation on the digital rotating besel, it's so addicting to use sense you can navigate true the task on the watch without having to cover the screen with your fingers.

Classic MUCH better than the sport

I initially purchased the cheaper Samusung S2 Sport and loved the sleek design. I wore it for 3 weeks and used it every day. The band ended up tearing at my wrist and completely ripped off within a month. I did activities such as playing tennis, working out, running with my huskies, as well as other aerobic activities. Yes, I twist my wrist a lot and I understand bands break, BUT the bands on the s2 sport are proprietary, meaning I would keep having the same issue and spending 50 dollars a month on a band won't cut it. I ended up getting lucky because Best Buy had extended their return window for Christmas purchases. I loved the watch's design, so I noticed the classic had a standard band and I could change it with any band I wanted! Sweet! I have now had this watch for over a month with no issues and have 2 extra sets of sexy bands that I bought for less than 20 bucks :) As far as the watch itself, it falls short only because you can't make calls on it and the voice recognition is meh. My main uses for it are- to tell time, look sexy on wrist, steps counter, texting, seeing notifications, and controlling media. Hope this review helps!

I absolutely love this Gear S2, it has a lot of great features. My only problem is that if you don't have a plan for your watch you can't communicate through the watch. I can talk to through the watch to answer the call but after that you have to pick up the phone. But other than that it's great, it helps me keep track of my steps, I can text from it, it helps track my cups of water and my workout, And it looks amazing, It was a great purchase.

I have had the watch for about a month now and am very happy with it. Some people complain about the user interface however I find it very easy to use. The best part of the watch is the style (leather bands), size (smaller watch face), and ease of use. If the watch is connected to your phone you will get a full day worth before charging. If you are disconnected from Bluetooth you probably can get 2 days of use before charging. Once smart watches can access 4g on their own they will be much more useful however this is a very nice watch to have right now.

Great watch. I had the gear 2 and loved it but I really love the rotating bezel on this watch. The only thing that I don't like about this watch is it doesn't have a speaker in it so u can't make calls or watch videos on it like my old watch. It also doesn't have a camera like my old watch but I didn't really use it so that's not a big deal. But I really miss the speaker. It would be perfect if it had a built in speaker. The rotating bezel and the way the programs work with the round watch and bezel is top notch though.

I wanted a smart watch that would help me manage my texts and emails discreetly while in meetings. This watch does that and so much more. I often leave my phone on my desk when I'm in the office, and with this watch, I still get message and call notifications. The number of available apps is limited at present. I get lots of compliments about the look of this watch. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Had the moto 360 for about 1 year, liked it. Going to this watch is something different. It's better than expected. Actually it's pretty amazing. Easy to use, love the rotating bezel. Looks good, great battery. Love Google, but I gotta say that at the moment Samsung tizen OS is better than Android wear. IMO. Would buy all over again.
