I really love my Gear S2 Classic watch. I have had NO trouble with it whatsoever in the 4+ months that I have had it, and wear it almost daily. In fact, it is very hard for me to leave home w/out it! LOVE the notifications, which keep me from always pulling my phone out of my purse. Most of them are things that I don't want to immediately respond to, so has saved time and energy. I have bought some off market watchbands to change it up (easy to change out), and with that, it goes with EVERYTHING! I initially worried that it would be too big on my wrist (I have pretty small wrists), but it is absolutely perfect. Many watch faces that you can choose from, or make your own with the Timemaker app (I think that's what it's called). If you are on the cusp of buying one, just go ahead and do it! You will quickly justify the money you have spent!

I've been wearing the original Moto 360 since it came out and just had the itch for something new. After spending hours and hours researching what's out there I landed on the Samsung Gear S2 and have had no regrets.
Battery life is triple what the original Moto 360 offers. My requirement is that it be able to go the entire day and still have extra just in case. By the time I go to bed at night I still have 30-50% left (and I'm running all the typical notifications, social, email (three accounts), messages, etc.).
When I decided to take the leap to this watch vs. an Android I knew I was leaving a world of thousands of apps for one that has few. But I evaluated which apps I used and, except for the ability to say "Okay Google" and do "Note to Self", sending an email to myself, this watch had every other app I needed and used.
The screen is excellent. Love the clarify and how it works. Easy to use.
I highly recommend this watch.

Love this Smartwatch. It can take my heart rate numerous times a day, the screen is fantastic and the rotating bezel is not only useful but just feels right. As others have said, there aren't a lot of apps for this watch but honestly, I have apps on my phone and my tablet. I don't need more apps to learn on a watch. I'm quite satisfied with what's currently available.

I had few smartwatches. Original Samsung Gear. LG G watch, etc. This is the only watch I want to wear daily. It is not perfect. It could be bigger. App selection is beyond abysmal. And questionable notifications if you do not use Samsung's email and text client. But These are minor. Overall it's a great watch. Works well, 2 day battery, charges fast, and does not sit on your wrist screaming "LOOK AT ME, I AM A SMARTWATCH!" unlike one from certain company named after a fruit.

From my point of view this is an excellent product because I specifically did not want a second phone to wear on my wrist. I mostly wanted notifications and such and the ability to make limited responses. If you are looking for the other type of watch that has everything your phone does on your wrist this is not the right one for you. Technologically for me this is a five out of five but I did take one star off because While it give me everything I want the only reason I went with this instead of the much cheaper pebble is that this looks nicer but price-wise it's pretty steep for the functionality. Also you get to use the whole screen, and while the Moto 360 is a very nice watch that little slice out of the bottom of the screen just irritates the heck out of me. The battery life is okay if you don't leave it in always on mode and it does a very good job of guessing when you are looking at the watch face and lighting up during those times

I love the size and style of this watch. I never missa call or text. Battery life is great, I putiton at 5:30am and take it off at 10:00pm and I still have 75% battery. Watch face interchangeably allows me to easily match with my outfit, sports team, etc... There is a fair amount of apps but missing a key one at the moment "bluelink". I will definitely give a 4.5 or higher once this app and apple support are in place.

Really love this watch! I originally purchased a Moto360 2nd gen. I did not like the responsiveness of the screen.. With this watch the screen is responsive to touch or you can use the rotating bezel on the watch face to move from screen to screen. I do like that the battery life on this is good! I go through about 45-50% in a day with moderate notification alerts. I do love that it has wireless charging so you can just sit the watch on the base and be ready to go the next day. The vibration on this is good to alert you of notifications. It seems like there are a good number of apps on the Samsung Apps watch.
The reason I also selected to go with this watch is that you can switch the bands on it. With the S2 sporty looking one you are limited to whatever bands Samsung has.
Overall the look and feel of the watch is great! I do wish that the it was compatible with iOS and android since I use both.
I knocked it down a star because of the selection of faces that we are allowed to select. There are some free ones in the Samsung Apps store but some of the really nice one you have to pay for.

I purchased this smart watch to pair well with my S8. And I'm so glad I did!! It's helps me stay on task and I love that when I'm out and about I can always know someone is trying to get a hold of me. I highly recommend thsi smart watch if you are looking for looking for one. Previously had owned a first-gen Gear, which was a good idea but not without it's issues. The main issues I had with that watch were the lack of apps and the reliability (it died in the first year and the refurb only lasted a few months. I am hopeful this new watch will last longer.
The performance of this watch is very good. I like apps such as the health app, which reminds me to get moving when I have been inactive for too long. The camera app (using the watch as the viewfinder for the camera on my phone) is a little unreliable but very useful.
Also, the appearance of this watch is top-notch. Great style, inter-changeable bands and sleek looks no longer make this a geeky box on the wrist. I love wearing this watch!
The usability of the watch is better than what I experienced with my first smartwatch. The alerts and notifications are non-intrusive, and the ability to reply to a text or message directly on the watch is a plus. The built in suite of apps are very Samsung-focused (what did you expect?) and highlight the value of the watch.
My one concern is the seeming lack of apps for these smartwatches. As an innovation platform, there is much that could be done with the watch, but there just aren't that many apps. I hope this will change - Androidwear and Apple are doing much more in the app arena, I hope Samsung can entice developers to leverage there platform as well.

I can't say enough good things about this watch. I purchased 2 units before this one and returned both of them. I pair this with a Note 3 and it is flawless. I only use about 35% battery per day although I turn off most notifications. I am so confident I mutual my phone and use only the watch notifications. I am fairly tech savvy but don't see why a novice wouldn't be as satisfied.

Very Nice Smart Watch

I have now been using this watch for about a month. I think it is a very nice smart watch. The battery life I have found to be very good, although I do not use it in the always on mode. A friend of mine has the same watch, does use the always on mode and says batter lasts a full day. Although I charge it every night for convenience, I have been able to get a full two days from the watch when I needed to.
I am not thrilled with the settings on the buttons. While you can change what holding down one button does to a couple of options, otherwise the buttons go back one screen or return to home screen. I think one of them should allow you to select the app being pointed to.
I also would have liked to be able to change the rotation direction for selecting my widgets. From the main clock face, you rotate clock-wise to go through widgets (not apps that is a different screen) that have things like temperature, calendar, step count, heart rate, and some others depending on what you add. You then rotate counter-clockwise to get notifications. I wish I could change that so notifications would be clock-wise and widgets counter-clockwise.
But I love the rotating bezel. I love the available watch faces. The apps that are available, while not as extensive as Android or Apple markets have been more than sufficient for what I want from a watch. The watch looks very nice, and so far has stood up to regular everyday office use and my kids occasionally pulling on it. (I will note that I have purchased an after-marked metal watch band which I very much like because I am not a fan of leather watch bands. But the band that came with the phone was very nice if you like leather bands.)
The watch is not heavy. It does not look or feel bulky. I am a man, and it fits onto my wrist very nicely. The touch screen sees appropriately sensitive. I would say 90-95% of the time my swipes and taps do what I intended them to do. The vibration response (I have on high) provides me notice of e-mails and other things, but is not so loud or buzzy (not sure if that is actually a word or not) that it would alert anyone else that I am getting a notice on my watch.
I should also note that the device is paired with my Droid Turbo, not a Samsung phone. However, the app that Samsung has you download to get the watch and phone to work together has been great. I have had no issues getting e-mails, having my calendar sync, getting phone call notifications, etc.
As of this moment, from the smart watches I have looked at, I think this is the best one out there. I do wish it was a little more customizable. I have looked at other android watches, and my wife has the apple watch. I like my Gear S2 better than her apple watch, and I liked it more than the other android watched currently on the market. No doubt there will be improvements and perhaps in a couple years something better will come along. But if you have been looking to get a smart watch, as I was, but have been waiting for one that is worth the money, I think this one is it. I have found it to be the addition I was looking for and the price was worth it.

Fantastic screen makes them look like real watch. Good apps for the activity tracking. Tons of very nice watch faces. Love rotating front bezel that makes best user experience among other watches.
On the down side: battery hardly lasts for one day if used actively. A bit too small screen size.

Good Watch, I love it. This is my first Smartwatch and I've been hesitant to get one for the longest mainly because of the price of one. But it was well worth it, the design of the watch is beautiful and navigating through it is awesome as well. It's just that because I use so many 3rd party apps I can't use it to it's full capability and I'm so use to Google so the fact that the OS is Tizen I'm still getting used to.

First off when buying this watch understand that its going to be a trade off. Determine if the trade off is worth it. I owned the gear s so this comparison is based off the two.
Pros- the screen and picture quality is crisp. The round bezel makes the watch faces look more like a real watch and less like a mini computer straped to your wrist. The processor is faster and allows updates and messages to run smoother. The heart rate monitor is also more effective and doesnt require you to stand completely still without movement. This is due to the watch having two HR sensors instead of one. I also like how it randomly takes my HR and lets me know where my levels are. The s health works better when linking up with your samsung mobile device. It keeps track of your daily activities and graphs them in a pie chart showing what percentage was spent walking, running, etc. You can now use a keyboard to reply to text messages instead of using preset messages. The mobile updates on the watch are also alot more descriptive. For example the old gear s would show who was texting you but would not show you the message unless you opened it up. Messages now show the persons picture, name and full message. The screen also has facial recognition so the screen doesnt come on everytime you move your wrist. It detects movement in combination with your eyes to determine when to turn the screen on. This is a big upgrade from the gear s which came on with every little movement you made. The battery life is about 3 days if used normally and docking the watch to recharge is a big step up from the piggyback setup on the gear s. Simply set it on the dock and walk away. There are no wires to connect to the watch its self.
Cons-
You can no longer make calls from your watch. The gear s allowed this and the call quality was not bad considering you were talking into a watch. There is also no camera lense on the watch which wasnt that big of a deal because the quality wasnt all that great to begin with on the gear s. One of the biggest disappointing features with the s2 is the watch lacks a sleep tracker. The gear s had a sleep tracker that detected movement and would tell you how long you were asleep and out of those hours how many of them you actually slept. This watch offers no sleep tracker at all and while there are apps you can download to help i have yet to find one that runs smoothly enough to be worth payment. The watch also seems to drop Bluetooth connection and go into stand alone mode quite a bit. Most of the time the s2 just needs to be reset. Hopefully future updates will fix this problem. The leather band that comes with the watch is cheap and wears out fast. Thankfully the band is easily interchangeable with many aftermarket bands and I've found that a stainless steel band looks the best with this watch. I was kinda on the fence about getting this watch and giving up my sleep tracker but at the end of the day im glad i did and have no regrets. No watch will be perfect but this watch is definitely a step in the right direction. At the end of the day outweigh the pros and the cons to determine if this watch is right for you.

This watch is good and bad. Bad takes the win!
The Good:
-Displays the Time
-Looks real nice
-Great Display
-Well made
-Easy to use (sort of)
The Bad:
-Seems to lose connection to my phone quite often.
-Cannot make or receive a call - How Lame!
-Battery Life not great - even with most features removed and brightness on level 3
-Phone App lame, at best - Always states it needs to be connected to my phone via Bluetooth in order to upload apps ... even when it's already connected! Lame again!
Overall because I think it's the best out there, including the iWatch, I recommend it ... for now ...

Prior to purchasing this watch I had an Apple Watch. The Gear S2 is better in several ways. First, it looks great. I get compliments all the time. Battery life is much better and the haptic feedback is also very good. I like the way you can select and modify watch faces within the phone app and the additional watch faces add flexibility and fun. Alerts work great and the watch is easy to use. I also like the rotating bezel versus the crown on the Apple Watch. This one is a real winner!

It looks like a regular watch. I love turning the bezel to navigate thru the menu. My only complaint is that it does not have a speaker and you cant talk on it or listen to music.
