Love it!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use my gear S3 daily and it works perfectly with my S8 phone. I'm able to talk to people while I'm driving and they tell me they can hear me very clearly. I really like how it allows me to read and reply to my text messages without picking up my phone, or pulling it out of my pocket. The only thing I would warn you about is to be careful not to expose it to water or steam (Jacuzzi) for more than 30 minutes. It can handle a little swimming, but anything more 30 minutes will cause it to malfunction. Also stay away from sand. If sand gets caught in the turn dial it will grind. It washes out, but I'd rather not do that again. Great watch overall.

A Multitasking watch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this mainly for my day to day fitness tracking and it does deliver on what its supposed to do. As an add on i also use my Watch for my Payments - Samsung Pay is almost accessible in all the places which has magnetic strip(an advantage over the rivals). Battery is decent and for my kind of a use its lasts minimum of 48 hours(Maximum being 72 hours). So far so good and i recommend this product.

the best smart watch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not many people seem to wear watches these days - and it's no wonder since for many it's just as easy to glance at your cell phone as it is to peek at your watch. This is where the Gear S3 excels - it gives you a good reason to wear it on your wrist. This smart watch is feature packed and delivers lots of goodies. You get expected features like a large selection of watch faces, ability for receiving text messages & notifications, ability to answer/place calls, fitness tracker functions (pulse monitoring & step counting). There are some nice surprises also: It is water resistant, has an excellent battery life, and the Samsung pay feature lets you store your favorite credit/debit card information and pay by holding your watch up to almost any credit card reader - this always causing amazement in the checkout line. It even has its own built-in GPS. This watch uses Samsung's unique smartwatch OS called Tizen instead of Android Wear. For me, performance has been rock steady and I've only needed to reset it a couple of times during the entire time I've used it. I have the Bluetooth model that makes calls through the paired smart phone, in my case the Galaxy 7 edge. The quality of the speaker phone is surprisingly good.

Gear 3 Classic looks as good as it works.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Gear 3 Classic is great looking Smart watch that can take standard size bands so you can buy any band to match your taste. It comes with a black leather band which other people have said is stiff, but it is leather, so just work it around a little and it softens up. I have focused on 2 features of the watch, the health app and Samsung Pay. I use the watch to continuously monitor heart rate and sleep. It works very well for that giving a sleep report in the morning rating your sleep. It does a good job automatically detecting and monitoring vigorous walks and it thinks mowing the lawn is a "other" workout. It does not seem to detect stairs very well, perhaps I am grabbing the railing so the movement isn't as it expects. I have set up Samsung Pay with my debit card and this works great. With the Magnetic Strip Technology (MST) you can use it anywhere you can swipe a card. It is not like Apple Pay where it needs a NFC (Near Field Com) compatible terminal. You just hold/move the watch by the card reader and it works. Battery lasts about 2 days with the continuous heart monitor, otherwise you can get about 3 days with light use. I charge it every morning for about an hour while getting ready in the morning and it keeps the battery topped off.

Excellent smart watch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have previously tried the Samsung Gear S2 watch and thought that was a great watch as well. My only complaint was I had to have a Bluetooth headset in order to use it for hand-free operation (it has a microphone but no speaker). The Gear S3 solves this problem as it has both a microphone and a speaker. I've used it in the car and even with a coat on the person at the other end of my call could hear me clearly and I could hear them. The battery seems to last maybe half a day longer than the S2 which lasted 2 full days so while an improvement not having another full day doesn't buy much. The style is great and the leather band looks sharp. Another plus is the leather band is now a standard 22mm watch band so any 22 mm replacement band should fit (the S2 needs an adapter to fit a 20 mm standard band). The only thing I don't like about this watch is the leather banc is thick and inflexible. I have to use the 2nd notch so hooking and unhooking the band is difficult as it is short and thick.

First smart watch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am coming to the smart watch market from using a Microsoft Band 2. Overall, i am highly pleased with the new Gear S3! One, switchable bands, which is ultimately why i left the Microsoft Band, strap broke three times and i had to send it in for replacement. That problem is fixed with the Gear S3! Plus you can swap the strap out on the fly to make it more style appropriate for whatever event you have going on (straps to dress it up, or go to the gym). OS is Tizen but works with my S7 Edge flawlessly. The learning curve is small. The rotating bezel to make your selections is ingenious and it limits the amount of fingerprints on the screen. The screen looks great, too! Nice, crisp and vibrant. The ability to take or make phone calls from the watch is great, i never thought i would use that function that often, but I've found myself taking most calls in that fashion. The speaker in the phone isnt amazing but beyond acceptable. Plus i made a point to ask callers on the other end how it sounded and only received positive remarks from them on the sound quality. Battery life is right around the three days advertised and thats with heavy use! I usually get two nights and have to charge early on that third day. Lastly, Samsung Pay. Ive been a fan of Samsung pay since i got my S7 edge in March. It works better from the watch than it does from my phone. The clerks are always in awe! Only downsides i have, the calorie tracking is vastly different from my Band. I teach a group fitness class and my Band would shouw about 800 calories burned during a class. The Gear S3 only shows around 250-300. Not sure what causes the discrepancy but it will make me workout harder i suppose! Also, i love that the bands can be swapped out but theres not a fitness EZ clasp option available (that I've found) for it. Lastly for downsides, its big. My wrists are on the small side, so the watch spans nearly the entire width of my arm. Not a deal breaker for me, might be for some tho. Definitely recommend this product if you're considering moving to a smartwatch or upgrading from an older style.

simply the best smartwatch out there, still.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ive bought this a while back probably been a half a year at least. It has been a year since this came out with tons of new competition including the apple watch 3, and nothing beats this still. Battery life seems to improve on me for some reason, and though im no heavy user, I seriously get over 3 days usage per charge, no issue. My main use for this is to receive my company emails, alerts, and schedules synced with my company phone that i just like tucked away in my bag. it is simply amazing.

Switch from Android Wear
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was originally an Android Wear guy with a Moto 360 1st gen. The battery was never much to brag about on that unit, and after two years it barely made it over half a day. I began looking into other android wear watches to upgrade to before playing with the S3. Man, I love this watch. Looks great. I bought a few watchbands to mix and match with this watch and my day to day wardrobe. I can usually go a week and a half with this watch, only charging it 15 minutes while I take a shower each morning. The bezel is amazing. I love Samsung pay. I'm severly disappointed by the app selection, but am quite pleased with what comes pre-installed on the watch. I really miss Google maps and Google Now voice recognition, but that's about it. Pros: * Fantastic Battery life (2.5 - 3 days easily) * Bezel control is genius. * Interchangeable watch bands. * Samsung Pay Support * Watch faces are better than Android Wear's, including those you can buy in app store. * Tizen is very, VERY snappy. Cons: * Poor app selection in Samsung store. * S Voice leave MUCH to be desired (Although decent at controlling watch, such as opening apps) * Price is a bit high Overall I'm quite pleased with my purchase.

Better than I thought it would be
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I held off reviewing this so that I would be able to see how the watch held up after a month or two of constant use. It has been great. I wear it everyday and love it. The fact that its using the Samsung store for software has not been detrimental to my experience - I was able to find all the same types of apps that I had on my Moto360. The battery life on it is fantastic!! If you are on the ledge because you had an android watch, I highly recommend you take the leap and give it a try.

Great watch, too many limitations
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To keep this simple, the watch is great. The build is beautiful and solid, and the interface works very well with the rotating face. Battery is great, the wireless charging over any wireless charger is very convenient. Samsung pay works like a charm. If you are using this purely for tracking workouts and for getting notifications on your wrist, you're in good shape with this watch. The software is where you get into the weeds. The app store for Tizen is awful. If you expect to get a great watch with a similar experience to Android Wear, look elsewhere. The Tizen OS has a strong limitation on its apps, as it doesn't support most of the functions I purchased it for, like controlling my nest, my Hue lights, and using Google Maps on my wrist when Im walking around DC. Now, please be aware, there ARE apps on the store for all 3 of these, but they are 3rd party, and very poorly made; buggy apps, terrible interfaces, and consistent issues of functionality. The Samsung Assistant is also absolutely terrible in comparison to Google Assistant or Siri, so thats just better disabled. Overall I think what it is and what it sells itself as, its a great watch. But the Tizen OS had me resell this thing within a month because it just isn't up to snuff with Android Wear, let a alone WatchOS.

Couldn't Be Happier!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Gear S3 is a great must-have for the smart watch enthusiast. The chassis is large but not too large in my opinion - It really looks great and is a solid build. Battery life is also great, as I can get the advertised 4-day (if not a little more) charge. I don't sleep with my watch on so I turn it off every night. The interface is great as well, rotating bezel design really adds to its functionality. And did I forget to mention the ability to use Samsung Pay? Samsung really got things right with this version. I'm upgrading from the original Gear (I'm an early adopter) and there is a marked difference in the build and interface. I upgraded my band to a quick release stainless steel one, thanks to its standard 22mm form factor. My only gripe about this watch is I cannot seem to disable text messaging on it. I have it disabled in the Gear Manager but I can still see activity on my watch (I don't get notifications though). This will probably be addressed with a software update of some sort. All in all, I don't think there is a better smartwatch out there (at least for Android).

Great smartwatch for all purposes
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Gear is a great smartwatch for all purposes. At work, i find it very useful to receive notifications through my watch rather than constantly checking my phone. While driving, i find it useful to see a text or email through the watch to determine the urgency. The watch is also great at tracking steps and keeping you on your toes when you have not had an activity in a period of time. It forces me to get up from my desk and walk around.

Not practical but I love it, especially for..
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Before I bought this, I thought I would use the always on display but have found that I actually do prefer that it goes dark after 15 seconds. Talking on the phone with it has come in handy only once...had my hands full and got a call, phone was in pocket, so I answered it on my watch. Otherwise I much rather use my actual phone. My absolute favorite feature is Samsung Pay. Since they let you earn points that you can turn into gift cards, money, anything you want...I use it to pay everywhere I go. Works flawlessly on every card reader Ive used, and of note, at places where I was told Apple watches don't work. I was pretty proud to show it off at first, paying with my watch, but that wears off, and you start to get tired of every cashier asking the same questions. I have 3 bands. It comes with a black leather band (the classic), and I got a brown leather one, I switch those out for work. Then I got the black sporty band that I believe comes with the frontier model? It's almost rubbery, but it's by far my favorite band. I never used to sleep in my watches, but I have slept in this one every Night to take advantage of sleep tracking so I can have a large chunk of that data to see my sleeping habits. It's also nice to have my morning alarm now, not only go off on my phone on the nightstand.... but my watch (on my wrist) goes off also to really make sure I wake up. (Volume of course is adjustable.) Lastly, I only charge it once every 2 or 3 days and again, I'm sleeping in it, only turning it off to charge it.

Great Working/Looking Smart Watch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was hesitant to get a smart watch, mainly because they looked goofy. Then this one came out, which looks like a real watch. I've loved it from day one. I don't have a lot of apps on it, but the ones I do work great. And it's the best looking, stylish smart watch out there. I have had trouble with a new band I ordered, in that it doesn't fit quite right, so I can't use it, but I do have 3 other bands that fit perfect.
