I bought my s3 2 1/2 years ago after my fit bit died. I decided to switch to the gear3 as it was "fully integrated" with my s8 smart phone. I have found the email, phone and sms capabilities are very good, but as a fitness watch it leaves much to be desired. My fit bit Heart rate monitor was almost as accurate my Garmin with chest strap. My s3 is wildly inaccurate. While on a bike ride my Garmin is at 135 bpm. My watch will have me at 160+. Normal daily Heart rate rarely is measured and when it does take a reading it is never within 15bpm of my manual pulse Check. My initial reason for purchase was because it was supposed to be fully integrated with Samsung health on my phone. It only will sync exercises when you are done. 1. In some cases the phone detects exercise and logs it. When you finish your exercise, and the watch syncs you will now have 2 exercises listed instead of 1. 2. The exercise lists on watch DO NOT match Samsung health on phone. As an example, I spend a lot of time on a horse, it would be great if my watch had the horseback riding option on it as I would not have to take my phone. More than half of the exercise options are not available on watch. 3. Even though Heart rate monitor is very inaccurate, you would think that the phone app could access the Heart rate monitor in realtime. It cannot, access it at all, but the smartphone app fully intergrates with all Garmin Heart rate monitors and for my bike my phone app will talk to my speed and cadence sensor also. 4. After a long drive in my truck (4+ hours) my watch will read I've taken 10000+ steps when in reality I may be less than 1500. All in all I have been very disappointed with all of the fitness options. Now the highest point and why I continue to use the Samsung gear3. A year ago while bike training I was hit by a car when the driver pulled away from the curb while talking on his phone (hope it wasn't a samsung). The accident broke my leg and destroyed my lt. Shoulder. Right after hitting the payment, I hit the top button on my watch 3 times. My watch immediately called my wife while at the same time texted her and my 2 children with my GPS location with an emergency notification, which they were able to touch and have my location show up on Google maps. My wife immediately answered and I could talk to her over the watch and advise her I had been hit. She had the location on her phone via text and was able to dispatch Fire, PD and amb. to my location within 15 seconds of me hitting the ground. Additionally, the timestamp for the call and text messages allowed PD to confirm he was on the phone at the time of impact.

Yes! Samsung health connects and transfers data to strava seamlessly. Great price if you want an everyday watch that has every feature you want from a smartwatch PLUS all the features, like stand alone GPS, from high end fitness trackers.

Bought this watch for my husband. He has large hands and fingers and loves the dial to access features. He loves it and I’m glad I chose this one instead of apple. The Apple band does not come in an XL length without buying another band.

Bought this for my boyfriend for Christmas. He loves it! He is very active and loves the fitness features. He also loves the ability to be able to clearly communicate and text on the watch instead of his phone. This was definitely a hit.

Great watch. Nice battery life. Syncs well with phone. Love the rotating bezel. Not a water resistant as gear sport which is a concern.

Just bought this and loving it. Battery life is excellent and it's so easy to use. Would definitely recommend it especially if you use a Samsung phone

This is my first smartwatch and I love it. There are hundreds of watch faces available, and it's fun to try new ones almost every day. The Health app tracks my walking and bicycling workouts and makes exercise more fun. The calendar app reminds me of scheduled events. I use more features than I thought I would. There are plenty of apps and watch faces available, and many are free. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy J3 Luna Pro, and the two work fine together. I often answer and make phone calls using the watch, and it works great.

He hasn’t put it down since I bought it. Honestly I see him use the watch more than his note 8 now. Everything works just like it’s supposed to, it looks great compared to other smart watches, light weight, and it make life so easy.

My Son is a Firefighter and off-toad enthusiast and says it is very convenient and easy to use. Feedback from his wife on a telephone call was "I cant tell the difference in microphone quality / hear you fine". Perfect Christmas gift.

Been a nice watch takes some abuse. Hard to hear when used talk.

I really like this watch. 1st off unlike other smart watches out there...it looks like a watch...2nd it functions flawlessly....3rd you have hundreds of faces to choose from on their app store. Nice build quality and feels heavy duty.

After going back and forth with different smart watches to chose from to pair up with my note 8. I started to look in to the Gear S3 and am I glad I made the purchase great watch with a great style clean look and over all superb performance and long battery life. this is a great watch for fit people as well tracks down steps and even records your sleep patterns can used it to call and reply to texts messages has active calendar and syncs with your phone to alarm your of up coming events overall a great watch I surely love it.

I love this watch. I bought one last year and this is a Christmas gift for my son. Cant believe how having the phone and notifications on my wrist makes it easier. Phone can charge while I see notifications and/or make and take calls.

The watch is durable, easy to use, looks good,reasonably priced.

EFFING AWESOME! Samsung Pay works like magic!! I have this watch connected to my Samsung 9+ and they work and go together like pb & j.

Bought this for my father in law for his birthday. Watch build is good and looks like a real watch! Bands are interchangeable as well. Didn't really need the LTE, but since it's the same price as the classic and he wanted black this was the way to go. One of the best advantages this watch has over most is the rotatable bezel. It makes navigating through everything a BREEZE. Battery life is solid as well, eeking out 2-2.5 days (just don't use GPS/LTE). It doesn't have many apps, so if that's a deal breaker then look elsewhere. It also doesn't really integrate as deep with other Android devices as with Samsung phones, so that's another thing to be aware of. This is going to be an older model soon, so if you can find it on sale for ~$260 that would be good.

my son is a soccer player, he is almost never home and needs a watch to remind him of phone calls or texts also he likes to record his workouts. I got him the watch everything is great but the battery dies too fast, the other reviewers say to turn some of the features off, but what is the point to have them if you cant use them. I had to return it.

The only thing I did not realize is that the watch comes with two options, bluetooth or 4GLTE connectivity. That would have made a difference in my selection of watch. However, i am very happy with the watch It performs excellently.
