When time come to upgrade our Bose sound bar, we thought stay with Bose. We choose Samsung-Harman Kardon sound bar as it is specially designed to Samsung TV (what we just purchased). No regrets. Top quality sound. We took some tests from You Tube and it was very impressive. We love our new soundbar.

Ive been checking this sound bar out for quite some time since i walked into best buy and i heard the sound of an airplane flying low,, and low behold it was the sound from this bar. This is the best sound bar by far. You can hear every intricate sound from movies, music and especially sports with great bass from the sub!

I've owned a couple of different sounder systems over the years, and was really excited to give the Samsung HW-Q80R Series a try. When it arrived, you start to get the picture that it's a pretty big system. The box is large enough to really be a two-person job to lift and move it. Once unboxed, the size and weight of the soundbar and subwoofer are hefty at just about 20 lbs. each and the bar is as wide as my Samsung 55" TV. In the box you'll find the soundbar, subwoofer, remote with batteries, power cords, HDMI cable, wall mounting hardware and a user's manual. I decided to install the unit on the TV stand so install was very straight forward. The manual does provide step-by-step install instructions for both HDMI and Optical configurations along with connecting the subwoofer. It was literally plug and play to get the entire system setup. My Samsung 4K TV does have an HDMI ARC connection so that is how the system was connected. I had done some reading on the system prior to getting it and started making some adjustments on the TV to make sure I could take advantage of the Dolby Surround option. On my particular TV the options for audio are PCM and Bitstream, and needed to select the Bitstream option to then select the Dolby option. Once the changes were made, the sound was incredible coming at me from all angles...incredible! There are a number of adjustments available on the soundbar and included remote, but I also set up the soundbar on Samsung SmartThings which allows the control of volume, music services, Input, Equilizer, Woofer and Sleep Timer. There was also a firmware update available for the soundbar once connected to SmartThings. The sound is incredible once a few adjustments were made. Initially the center levels were a bit low and being overtaken by the soundtrack when watching movies, but a simple adjust to the center volume and voila. Still working to get the bass just right as the subwoofer can definitely fill up a room...my wife has yelled from upstairs a couple of times already! Pros: - Incredible sound quality whether watching movies, TV or listening to music. - Quality workmanship on both the soundbar and subwoofer - Easy to set up and use - Controllable with SmartThings - Everything needed to install is in the box - Adjustability of sound on soundbar and with SmartThings app - Can control with Comcast X1 remote - Ability to add rear channel speakers if desired - Wireless connection for subwoofer Cons: - Soundbar is large, as wide as my 55" TV (more of an aesthetics thing for me personally, but could be an issue with a smaller TV stand or wall mounting space) Overall the Samsung HW-Q80R Series Soundbar and Subwoofer is an incredible option if looking for a high-end soundbar system. The sound quality is amazing and the ease of use in setup and controlling the unit is key for a non-audiophile like myself. It's on the pricier side compared to some of the options out there, but well worth the money!
