I first tried an LG set because I have an OLED. It was awful, much cheaper. I'm a fan of Harmon and JBL and this system combined with rears doesn't disappoint. Very smooth bass and plenty of it. I've had systems 5 times the cost that didn't have as smooth of a sub. I'm very pleased.

The Samsung Q80R is an incredible soundbar. All of the little things added up for me to a great experience. Out of the box, I noticed that the soundbar is meant to not be noticed. There aren't alot of lights or shiny parts. No lit logos or blinking lights, and I really appreciated that. It feels very sturdy and has a solid weight to it. The setup was very easy; it might take 10 minutes at most. If you are using a Samsung TV, too, it will instantly recognize the soundbar and allow you to use the TV remote to control the volume of the soundbar. The wireless rear speaker was easy to maneuver around the room as I tried to find the best position. There is a remote for the soundbar which felt nice, and otherwise the soundbar can be controlled by touch sensitive buttons on the unit itself. It has multiple sound modes, including Game Pro sound for video games/low input lag game mode, Adaptive Sound which selects the best channels to broadcast sounds, and Surround Mode. I found the Surround mode to be particularly nice while watching movies, and I found the Adaptive Mode to be useful for sporting or other live events. I played music, watched TV, played video games, streamed through the internet, and it all sounded fantastic. The unit has deep, rich base through both the soundbar and the wireless speaker. The unit does allow for Bluetooth connections, works great with Alexa, and can be controlled via an app that you download to your phone. The unit will play AAC, OGG, WAV, AIFF, ALAC, and FLAC formats, with high-resolution support up to 32 bit. It also supports eARC, Dolby Atmos, and DTS:X. There are 2 HDMI inputs. I did notice that the unit failed to go into Game Pro mode automatically after turning on the PS4. No big deal. One thing to note is that at this time the unit does not support Google Assistant or Chromecast. As a consumer, you should note that this soundbar is meant for fairly large devices; it could look awkward overnight. Also, there is no calibration or tone that help you setup the soundbar to your liking. This is a great soundbar and I think it is very well-rounded in regard to playing audio from many different sources at a high level. This item can be purchased with the confidence that you are getting one of the best soundbars in 2019, and the best soundbar I have ever heard.

We now have a superb theater in our upstairs room with a 75” Qled Samsung and a Harmon Kardin compatible sound system. Just watched a concert from Wembley Stadium and it was better than being there. Incredible picture and extraordinary sound. We are, Indeed, happy campers!

We are very happy with this soundbar system. We are both hard of hearing, and the sound makes everything so much clearer so that we can hear. It seemed a bit pricy in addition to the purchase of our TV, however, we are glad that we got it.

I purchased this with my new Samsung Q90 65" television and it provides a tremendous sound experience to go with an excellent TV. The richness of the sound is wonderful - as good or better than many theater experiences.

The only issue I had was when hooking it up it would not connect called the Geek squad and they had to enter a code and then the issues resolved very happy with the Geek squad and the soundbar system so happy I bought another one

Dolby Atmos in a soundbar? Could you really ask for more? This soundbar and subwoofer makes other basic soundbars seem like a pocket speaker. It is massive, and heavy at that. Just make sure you have enough space to mount it or set it up. If you are going to wall mount it, you will probably want to reinforce the wall where it will mount because the soundbar is so heavy. First off, it comes well packed and balanced in the box. The box is absolutely massive as well. Once setup, you can connect via 2 different HDMI in's, blue tooth, or by Optical audio in. It does come with the same remote found in other Samsung soundbars, so it very simple and easy to use and is the main way to adjust sound mode, EQ settings (treble, bass), sub level, etc. The sound is absolutely amazing. It is very crisp, clear, and voice comes through sharp. It does come with an 8" wireless subwoofer which gives an overall good blend, but does not really hit hard like you would think a subwoofer should. It just keeps a nice overall balance to the sound system. It is very easy to distinguish the atmos speakers in the top of the soundbar, and the surround effect does a very good job, especially having speakers included in the sides of the soundbar as well. The sound goes from 0-100 and even all the way up to 100, the audio holds together great and doesn't distort. This is definitely the ultimate for sound, if you do not have the room for a full 5.1 or 7.1 home theater speaker system. The one thing Samsung needs to work on is sound lag when using bluetooth over phone or tablet. I tried streaming a movie on my tablet and using the soundbar for audio and the sound was very noticeably behind the video. It is a non issue though when using HDMI. I would recommend Samsung work on that or add in a counter-lag feature for those issues. Overall a great setup. Very clean looking, very loud, very clear, and great Atmos audio. Would highly recommend.

I bought a Samsung television with the sound bar and I cannot get the audio to match up with the video. So when people talk their mouth’s are moving but the audio if off. I have googled a solution but cannot find one it’s just very sad I spent a lot of money

The sound bar makes you feel like you are in a theatre. I will be adding the surround sound speakers to really kick it up a notch. But you don’t need them if you are just watching normal TV or not a big movie buff.

Had an 1000 watt sound system but needed an upgrade choose the Samsung Harman Kardon 5.1 and when it was in my home wow the difference sounds like I'm the movies this system is awesome I highly recommend getting this one

The Samsung-Harman Kardon HW-Q80R Soundbar is a fully-capable, next-generation sound system. You can connect the system to your Smart TV using the included HDMI (ARC) cable, using Bluetooth (if your TV is so equipped), via WiFi or using an Ethernet cable (not included). It is solid; you can tell from the weight of the package that it has powerful speakers. The HW-Q80 system comes with a sound bar that you can place on a TV stand or mount on the wall with the included bracket. It also comes with a subwoofer, power cords for the Soundbar and subwoofer, and a remote with two AA batteries. It took about 10 minutes to unpack and set up the system. Most of this time was spent reading the instructions. I connected the HDMI cable, and my Panasonic TV “found” the new sound system easily. This means that I can use the TV remote and/or the Soundbar remote to control sound. The Soundbar is sleek black with an unobtrusive design. Use the control buttons on the top, or use the remote. The bottom of the Soundbar has multiple ports to connect other audio and video devices in addition to a TV. an LED status window hides behind the Soundbar grille. This lets you view the sound profile (Standard, Surround, Gamer, etc.), volume and sound source. Pros: - Excellent sound, adjustable bass (subwoofer) and selection of sound profiles for watching TV or movies, listening to music, or playing games. - Fairly easy to set up - Multiple ways to connect, including true wireless via Bluetooth or WiFi (some accessories optional). - Comes with a wall mounting bracket. Cons: - HDMI cable is 1 meter. Many users would need a longer cable. - Unit is large, with the Soundbar at about 49 inches wide.

Played various movie scenes last night and the sound is incredible. The soundbar itself looks great. It’s heavy and solid. Price is justfified for this device. The set-up went easy. Great job Samsung!

Great product , if your looking for a nice home theater system with nice all around sound, this is the sound bar you want. Sounds legit and love to hear music on it

I never thought this could replace the experience of a movie theater but it really does! The sounds are amazing. Perfect for movie lovers. Doubles as a music stereo as well. Definitely recommend.

I hate writing this as I am a true samsung fan. I went with this as I have a Q70 tv. I had a 1st addition LG soundbar when they came out. I thought this would be a great addition. The soundbar itself is amazing! I would give it 5 stars just on it. But the it comes down to the subwoofer. It is not even subpar. I have it in a 13'x16' room. Sub is turned all the way up. There is no rumble, no shake, no boom. My LG has a 6" subwoofer with it and kills the subwoofer that comes with this. For what I spent expected more from it. I even contacted Samsung to see if the sub could be upgraded. Unfortunately not. I will be returning. Sorry for my 1st bad review samsung.

This is by far the best sound bar. I love the clear voice coming out of its surround sound. It’s worth every penny. The special effects sound very real like if you are actually in the movies.

This sounder is excellent and competes with a traditional atmos setups. The build quality is great, but the UI is limited. Overall its fantastic product, but the price tag is steep.

I couldnt be happier with this purchase. Absolutely amazing sound and hard hitting bass for those action movies but not over powered enough to where you cant hear people just talking
