The overall mid and highs of the soundbar are very good but the bass lacking. There is no punchy bass and what is there is just loud rumble with very little definition. At this price I expected better. If your signal is anything but Atmos the system defaults to something other and sounds get lost. I do like that you can adjust different channels within the sound bar to aid in dialogue or surround effects. I had to do again and spend 1K I would do something else.

Thank you for your review of this Samsung HW-Q80R Soundbar. I am very sorry that you are not completely happy with the bass performance.
There are two adjustments that can be made to maximize the potential of the included wireless subwoofer. First is to increase the WOOFER level from the included remote control. Second is to adjust the bass control: Press the Sound Control button (gear icon) on the remote control, then select BASS to increase the level.
Finally, for precise audio adjustments, you can use the 7-band frequency equalizer to optimize the sound for your room acoustics.
