Best soundbar 2022

I've tried Bose, Sonos, and Sony flagship soundbars and this one wins by a mile for movies and tv. Music is not as engaging as on some of the other listed soundbars, but it's pleasant enough. I had an issue with the rear left speaker cutting in and out but I simply exchanged the whole soundbar package and the new one was perfectly fine. Watching movies with this is quite an experience. Sound is thunderous and detailed. Highly recommended!

You can try manually optimizing your audio experience by pressing the SOUND CONTROL button (looks like a gear) to access the setting items such as AUTO EQ, AVA, TREBLE, BASS, SYNC, CENTER LEVEL, SIDE LEVEL, FRONT TOP LEVEL, REAR LEVEL, REAR TOP LEVEL, REAR SIDE LEVEL, and VIRTUAL ON/OFF. The selected item can be adjusted using the Up/Down buttons.
By pressing the SOUND CONTROL button, you can set the audio function such as Auto EQ, Spacefit sound, AVA, Voice enhance mode, Night mode, Sync, Surround speaker mode, Virtual.
The desired item can be adjusted using the Up/Down buttons.
• You can use the Auto EQ function if a subwoofer is connected.
• Voice enhance mode enhances spoken dialog in movies and TV to make it easier to hear.
• Night mode is optimized for nighttime viewing with the settings adjusted to bring the volume down but keep the dialog clear.
• Press and hold the (Sound Control) button for about 5 seconds to adjust the sound for each frequency band. 150Hz, 300Hz, 600Hz, 1.2kHz, 2.5kHz, 5kHz, and 10kHz are selectable using the Left/Right buttons and each can be adjusted to a setting between -6 to +6 using the Up/Down buttons. (Make sure the Sound mode is set to “Standard”.)
• If the video on the TV and audio from the Soundbar are not synchronized, select Sync in Sound Control, and then set the audio delay between 0~300 milliseconds by using the Up/Down buttons.
• Sync is only supported for some functions.
• Available Surround speaker mode settings may vary depending on the specification of the compatible (with the Soundbar) surround speaker.
• The Virtual Speaker function can be turned ON/OFF by using the Up/Down buttons.

The sound bar exceeded my expectations with even better sound and surround sound than my Bose system. Dolby Atmos is very clear and distinct. You may need to make some adjustments for your environment though.

I have it connected to eArc Projector and sound is explosive! The soundbar is connected with the SmartThings app, which allows an individual to tweak the settings. It is important as every room has it's own dimensions.

Coming from a dedicated 5.2.4 wired Atmos system with giant speakers and subwoofers, I was just hoping for an acceptable quality of sound but without all the wires, speakers and receiver. This system is AMAZING. Blows my wired system out of the water. It's truly a joy of immersion. Even standard 5.1 sound from Amazon Prime is incredible. Best purchase I've made in a long, long time.

Two rear speakers actually make a big difference in the surround sound experience. Spouse is hard of hearing so the rear speaker and voice clarity with the central speakers in the sound bar works great. Only downside is heavier and wider sound bar. I replaced the bicycle hooks I had in the wall below the 65" LG TV with "ladder hooks" from Lowes to hold the bigger bar.

If your tv Supports eARC, connect directly into that HDMI port to get the full effect. Can be controlled through the Smart things app and gives streaming programs and movies new richness. SO MUCH better than listening on tv speakers or 2.1 surround systems. Loved the fact that rear speakers are wireless and dont require a separate module.

Full Immersions without the wires!!

Comparing the two is exactly apples to apple as the old sub was a 10” and this sub is a 8”. Overall I’m very happy with my purchase as the system does a good job of total immersion as long as you place the rear speakers correctly, btw the rear speakers are amazing in this package compared to Samsungs previous offerings!!

Thank you for taking the time to leave a detailed review on the new HW-Q990B Soundbar. There are a few ways you can optimize your soundbar to get the most out of your new system.
By pressing the SOUND MODE button, you'll be able to select between STANDARD, SURROUND, GAME or ADAPTIVE SOUND.
If you press the CH LEVEL button you can adjust the levels of every channel, including the rear speakers from -6 to +6.
Use the TONE CONTROL button to adjust the BASS and TREBLE between -6 - +6.
Hopefully, these tips will help you enjoy the HW-Q990B Soundbar even more than you already are.

Fantastic Sound Bar! . . . .when it worked

Performance was excellent with the voices being very upfront, clear, and distinct. The subwoofer matched the bar well and sounded tight, not overpowering. Surrounds were good as they are but had to turn up the levels. The Samsung app made adjustment’s easy. This was my experience during the 1st 10 days. Mysteriously, the sub and surrounds couldn’t connect w/ the bar. Went through a lot of troubleshooting (powering down, resetting, re-pairing, moving positions). I moved the speakers right next to the bar then turned my wifi OFF. No go. The stars are for the excellent customer service I received at the store. Thank you for that! Maybe in the future Samsung can resolve their Q/C issues. I will try their soundbars again, but meanwhile seeking other brands.

I have also read where several have had connection issues so I was a bit worried but I have had mine for almost a month now and have had zero connection issues. This whole system sounds amazing and really comes to life when watching a movie. So far I am very happy with this purchase.

Best High-End Sound Bar Currently Available

The Samsung q990b easily blows them all away at a better price. I If you are searching for a high end sound bar that is capable of true 11.1.4 sound then this is the perfect sound bar for you. I absolutely love the fact that it can scale any signal it receives up to 11.1.4 (in 3 of the 4 sound modes, one is standard that plays the content as originally intended). It’s also surprisingly great at music playback via Airplay 2, I have found myself sitting there just listening to music for long periods of time amazed at how broad the sound stage is. For reference I use this sound bar with an LG C9 through eARC and have had no issues.

Thank you for purchasing our top-of-the-line Samsung 11.1.4ch HW-Q990B soundbar with an industry first Wireless Dolby Atmos and DTS:X bringing you 3D true surround sound. Your soundbar system is engineered with 22 speakers immersing you in sound.
Samsung’s Auto EQ Technology uses a microphone mounted in the subwoofer to detect and correct low-frequency response peaks caused by the
room dimensions and the subwoofer location. The result will be a more neutral overall low-frequency response.
• Subwoofer should be placed with a minimum of 3” (8 cm) clearance from each side to the nearest boundary.
• You must keep the room as quiet as possible while operating the Auto EQ tuning.
• Do not use any buttons until the Auto EQ tuning is complete.
• Auto EQ tuning takes about 2 minutes.
• During Auto EQ tuning, there is no sound from the Soundbar’s main unit and rear speakers.
If you are using the function for the first time
1. Press the (Sound Control) button until Auto EQ is selected.
2. Press the Up/Down buttons to select Tuning, and then press the button.
3. Tuning will start, and the progress appears in percentage.
‒ To cancel tuning, press the Up, Down, Left, Right or button, and then press the button to confirm.
‒ If the tuning is failed, LED blinks in red.
‒ If the tuning is successful, LED blinks in blue.
If you have done the tuning process
